    I'm 42... A drum teacher and raised in church. Salute to you for having chops and bring able to explain and break down this genre. We have some great drummers in the church but some very poor teachers when it comes to explaining. Awesome job!!!!!!

      Update…
      I just realised how much I suck as a drummer because I couldn’t even get the first exercise down pat.
      I struggled with your slowest speed (100bpm), so I had to drop it down to 80bpm… I could only last about 15 seconds before limbs were unco and hitting at the same time 🤦‍♂️
      I tried 90bpm but that just made it worse.
      I guess I’ll stick to 80bpm for a while until I can really nail it … for at least a minute before increasing tempo again.

    of all the gospel drum gods i've seen here in YT, this vid makes me understand what they were doing, simple and explained it well, kudos to you Sir, I'm not into gospel or RnB style (Metal Drummer here) but definitely I could use some of this exercise and incorporate to my chop library thanks Man!!

    How come I've only just come across this name today? Well, it's my daughter's birthday today. Mine was yesterday and I'm grateful that I found this channel and this video in particular on this special day. Your way of teaching stuff is refreshingly different and really cool. I guess you're one of a few drum teachers here who really want the students to learn anything at all-no pump; no fanfare!

      If you can read music than you can transcribe what he’s doing, also a great skill to work up off the kit. Just watch and listen carefully and write it out. Cheers!
