It's strange how this gets stored in the Codex, when most other such "incidental" notes are treated as, well, Notes which are typically one-time-only for reading.

Yeah, it was so short I was tempted to put in in my (coming soon) notes for the forbidden oasis. I feel like it's either an oversight or they really wanted to point out how this guy died.
I'll be going into detail about the forbidden oasis once I've got all the codex's officially read, so I'll likely talk about it :)
