Fascinating video. But I'm not quite sure I understand how she developed callouses on both sides of her foot. It seems like favoring one side of the foot while walking would cause a callous in that area and the opposite side of the foot would be spared.

How long does this last? I heard that scraping it off makes it grow back quicker and thicker for protection is that true?

I know this is a older video, but i had to say about her having inflammation on foot, my podiatrist told me that is is completely normal if on feet a lot, its simply because of all the strain and restricted blood flow. Just take normal pain meds and stay off feet on days off.

Will any podiatrist do this? Is it covered by insurance and is it expensive?

Donna all podiatrist should be able to do this. Insurance is depending on your cover and what the podiatrist is under.

Favorite moves in yoga (if I remember the name correctly)
child's pose- on back hug your knees and rock...it's fun
Cat pose-on knees and hands and arch back..and the reverse
where concave the arch but I forgot the name...love it to stretch the spine
Downward facing dog- nice stretch for back of knee
butterfly which I did a lot when I use to dance to stretch my hips
Never took a yoga class except in high school for gym. But some moves I leaned helped when I use to dance whether for balance or stretching.
She has a point...we have to learn that sometimes even if we want to we have to step back whatever it is. I had to take a step, back when I injured myself in dance a few times mostly because I pulled a muscle which is minor compared to what could of happen (like pro dancers snapping tendons or bones). I loved dance but it was a hobby and other things are more important like health.

hbun oh wait child's pose is the one where your on knees arms outstretched and lean down? Whatever the name it's fun except doing it on ground that hasn't been cleaned properly.

I feel like she should have kept it the callus builds up for a reason to protect your feet especially bc she’s a yoga instructor it’s going to be uncomfortable for her now to do yoga bc that extra padding is gone

Aaron Barton I'd like to however it becomes a little tricker as not every patient will be a one visit resolve. So ensure they could come in for regular filming would be tough. But we are working on it. Thanks for your feedback👍

Why not give the advice that when people shower, they rasp the feet and then before putting on the socks, moisturize? I find that the best thing ever, it is a routine I've learned from teenager *the rasping if that is a word? Ehm.. English not the main language 😉 ) just later in life, when I got build up I just put it there in the routine) up till now 😊
Edit, why did she had a red heel? I mean on the back, just above where you scraped off the callus ?
And in my opinion I didn't see the nice pinkish skin coming forward after the scraping.. too less has come of, but that is again my opinion 😊

    • @TheFootScraperDGPodiatrist
      @TheFootScraperDGPodiatrist  6 лет назад

mademoisellekaya the patient has already been doing the "rasping" and the moisturising. Also when you debride callus you're not supposed to see red skin underneath that is unhealthy and too much has been taken off. It takes years of experience to establish the right about to remove for comfort. But thank you for you interest and comment 😊
