Yay, it's Thursday and your lovely vintage treasures are here to take my mind off my 3rd dentist visit, in as many weeks for fixing a broken tooth. 🥰 I was sitting here oohing and ahhing over those gorgeous purple vintage spools, and then my name popped up!🤣 You know me too well already!! If any turn out to be duplicates, let me know, I would love to give them a home! The metal thingy at 27:37 you aren't sure about, looks to me to be a bodkin, used to pull elastic and cord etc. through openings. That lady's sewing treasures could not have found a better new home - you will put all of these lovelies to beautiful use.
Hi Leanne - Boo to dentist visits - I hope you are through the worst now. I would love to send you a package with some spare purple threads from this beautiful bounty. If you’re on instagram can you send me a private message on there? My insta is: instagram.com/craft_with_christine?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= cheers, Christine
Oh and thank you so much for identifying my mystery item. You are spot on. Cheers, Christine
@@createandcraftwithchristine yay, I guessed correctly! I have sent you a message in Instagram now.
It’s so nice to find those wonderful threads. The thread that came from Ct was made in the town next to my house . They are not in business anymore, they made quality threads 🧵 thanks for sharing ♥️
Oh how wonderful to have this little snippet of history - thanks so much for sharing with me. And thank you for watching. Cheers, Christine 🤗
Great haul. I’ll be checking my FB MP.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Adora. Definitely worth checking out FB MP as you never know what you will find! Good luck hunting. Cheers, Christine

Gosh, love those vintage fasteners and snaps Christine.
Beautiful buttons and exciting rick rak.
Feel like doing a happy mail swap? 😁
You'll definitely have to use the fabric from your childhood in your little book. What a memory.
I was gonna ask the same. We all have different treasures that we have an abundance of, it would be great to share.
Very happy to share some of this and other bounty with you. Perhaps we can chat via messenger on Facebook/Insta. Cheers, Christine
Very happy to share with you too Kathy. Are you on instagram?
@@createandcraftwithchristine I’d like to do a swap, anything you are missing for your projects also.
@@kamahskreations1260 do you have a Facebook or instagram account so we can chat using the private message function in those? Might be easier than on here :) cheers, Christine
Great haul. The older needle packs are out of copyright I bet you can scan them in and make some needle holders or ephemera for a journal.
What a wonderful idea! Thank you so much, Lynda! Cheers, Christine
Great haul! Congratulations!
Thanks so much - very fortunate! Hope you’re enjoying your reorganised room! Cheers, Christine
@@createandcraftwithchristine ha. Yes. So much so that I now started in on the living room. Making it truly my and my husband's studio, since we don't use it for anything else really.
@@sidewalkpirate23 that sounds like a very exciting reorganisation! Oh to have a dedicated studio! One day :)
Hi! New subbie here. Loved your haul!
Thanks so much for coming by - love connecting with other thrifty buddies. Cheers, Christine
💖💖💖💖💖💖!
Thanks so much Joanna 💛🤗
Nice lot! Especially those buttons. Are you familiar with Dawn Cook Ronningen's book Antique American Needlework Tools? I've just gotten it from the library and the old stuff is pretty cool. The earwax bit I could have done without - who wants to treat their thread with earwax?! Anyway, there is likely a good bit of overlap between American and Australian sewing tools.
Thanks Debra - I have not come across that book but will definitely look it up. Love learning about the history of vintage items and really appreciate your sharing of this suggestion. Like you, far from convinced re ear wax! 😂 cheers, Christine
