Yeah Man, and so much fun to play as well ... 'wish I never had to sell my very 1st American Fender Jazz. Thanks for listening and liking, Much Appreciated 👊🏾
Amazing, thanks for these great videos! I got my first bass recently, and I find it really hard to learn songs by ear. Seeing your great videos is a huge help to learn these fantastic songs!
That’s not Bootsy. That’s Rodney “Skeet” Curtis. You could tell them apart because Bootsie is actually very economical with his notes plus he slides a lot. Rodney Curtis lines are noticeably Busier. Cordell Mason’s Bass lines are closer to Bootsy’s than Rodney Curtis.
You’re welcome, my brother. If you remember the albums, they would always list a bunch of musicians, but never who played what on every specific song. I’m a bass player. I really did a lot of research trying to find out who played what on each particular song. Rodney Curtis is featured prominently on the Motor Beauty Affair and One Nation Under A Groove albums. A few Songs with Rodney Curtis Groovallegiance Freak Of The Weak Rumpofsteelskin Ain’t That Funkin’ Kinda Hard On You.
Bootsy is definity the One...but I'm not so sure he played bass on this one. Hard to say which and I could very well be wrong, but I'm hearing a little more Rodney Curtis...especially on the bridge with all the popping going on. Hell, it could even be Boogie . I remember that tour very well back in 1978. The costumes and special effects were out if this world and PFunk probably had its best lineup of musicians back then. Those shows were spectacular... 🤩🤘🏾
That's, that steelskin under water you better know how to swim is what George is talking about or you won't be coming up for air, so drown in the funk !
You have at least six bass’ I got a 60-61 3/4 Kay stand up. Wanna trade one away? One away. That sounds like the name of a classic jazz song, or band. Jug band? This is 8 years after the fact, but, Ya busy?
Hey Bro that Squire looking Fender bass you have wound sound a whole lot better if you add a “badass bridge” to it and “Seymour Duncan-qtr pounderJazz pickups”. Trust me you will appreciate my suggestion. If you want to know how it sounds then I have a bass with those same components wholllle different sound I tie d a $450+ bass into a $1100 bass!
You are playing an iconic Bootsy Collins bass line… on this recording Bootsy on drums, bass and rhythm guitar…SALUTE
That album is an underrated Classic!

Now tell me who can't enjoy an excellent bass line....in....THE WIDE WIDE WORLD OF WIGGLE?
That’s not Bootsy. That’s Rodney “Skeet” Curtis. You could tell them apart because Bootsie is actually very economical with his notes plus he slides a lot. Rodney Curtis lines are noticeably Busier. Cordell Mason’s Bass lines are closer to Bootsy’s than Rodney Curtis.
Thanks Bro', I wasn't exactly sure Who it was playing that Bassline.😄👊🏿

mike bogush Thanks Mike, but I STILL have a whole lot to learn😁
That's, that steelskin under water you better know how to swim is what George is talking about or you won't be coming up for air, so drown in the funk !
Nice, but you gotta play the whole song.🤓
You have at least six bass’ I got a 60-61 3/4 Kay stand up. Wanna trade one away? One away. That sounds like the name of a classic jazz song, or band. Jug band? This is 8 years after the fact, but, Ya busy?
Can hardly hear it... Source material being far too loud
True, true, but Cordell “Boogie “ Masson was a better bass player!
