You have answered yourself: because The Question is not as popular as Batman Warner hopes that The Batman high bar will be surpassed somehow, which is why several interesting projects are simply forgotten because they do not seem to have that potential
One option might work is to take an inspiration from Columbo. What might not be remembered is that Columbo started out as one part of a series called "The NBC Mystery Movies." Each week, one of the three series would appear in the slot. The other series were "McCloud" and "McMillan and Wife." Each would appear in a 90 minute TV movie. DC could do the same thing, having an umbrella title like "The DC Superhero Movies." Each week features 90-minute mini movie that features one DC character or group. While some characters/groups like The Question, The Martian Manhunter, The Metal Men, and Captain Atom might not be popular enough to support an on-going series, they could support an occasional mini-movie. In turn, characters that are found to be extremely popular could be spun off into a TV series or a theatrical feature.
To add to my previous post: They could even feature some unusual characters such as Angel & The Ape, ones I'd like to see (possibly as a team up with Detective Chimp). Angel O'Day is a top athlete, marksman, and detective. However, she feels like she is a disappointment because she feels that she doesn't measure up to her family. That's because her father is a archeologist, her stepmother and stepsister are superheroes, and her adopted brother is a gorilla (see below). Angel thinks her family is normal. The Ape is Sam Simeon, a gorilla from Gorilla City (the city appeared in "The Flash") who is a professional comic book artist. Sam is the grandson of Gorilla Grodd and has a variation of Grodd's telepathic powers. He uses them to cause people not to notice that he's a gorilla so he can function in human society (he causes people to think that he's just an unusual-looking human). He left Gorilla City and was adopted into Angel's family (they know he's a gorilla).

I remember reading the Question series when I was a teenager. This was a great comic book series that is not remember. Love to see the original Question comes back as a comic book series again.
This is definitely one of the best videos about The Question on the entire site! I love that you go in-depth about Vic's personal and emotional journey, and the comics you specifically chose to highlight are premium. I absolutely love the O'Neil run and I'm so glad you focused on it. Only little quibble is that it's Lady Shiva, not Batman, who rescues Question and sends him to Richard Dragon. She's a pretty important character to his development for how little she appears!
I love the Question for his moral ambiguity and DEnny Oneil's run is highly underrated. The world is not black and white, it's a lot of gray and characters like the Question are needed to guide us through it. Thanks for pointing the spotlight on good ole Vic Sage.
it really feels like his story isn't even at its climax yet! The Question still has a magnum opus left to be made, and I can't be the only one waiting for it now.
Great video! I started getting into the question mid-high school back in the day and it helped expand my brain and perspective. Neither has shrunk since that period.
Something to mention: The Question didn't become a black lantern immediately after the end of his series. Due to the "Blackest Night" Event, DC revived a number of their cancelled series for one issue, continuing the numbering of the original series, with "The Question" returning in issue #37. The issue featured Vic Sage as Black Lantern Question, Renee Montoya as the current Question, Lady Shiva, and Doctor Rodor. In order to escape Sage, they had to completely shut down their emotions to make themselves invisible to Sage. Like all Black Lanterns, Sage can only see emotions coming off of people (as colors of the spectrum), not the people themselves.
About 60% the title, the other 40% because you're good at summarizing comic book turbo nerd things. In fact, you're the only person who does this type of thing that I listen to, now. For a good long while now. I guess we share similar opinions on what makes for interesting stories. You might have even gotten me to pick up a few comics to read myself, I believe
Love Denny O'Neil's run on the Question. A pity there isn't much more material with the Vic Sage version, but I guess it's for the best so he doesn't get diluted with mediocre stories.
The passing of the mantle from Vic to Reneé is in the limited series 52, right after Infinite Crisis. This was between 4 to 5 years before Flashpoint and the New 52. Rick Veitch's miniseries was basically forgotten and Question's powers never came back. Great video!
he was amazing in justice league unlimited, from at first hearing him spout random seemingly goofy and ridiculous conspiracies to learning he's the only person on earth who figured out lex luthors plan
I honestly didn't know there would be a city worse than Gotham and that is saying a lot lol and just from looking at this video, The Question is just another character that needs a live action movie adaptation.
no clue what happened but some switch went off few months ago where i gained a massive reinterest in him. Want to see him on the big screen so bad him in the matt reeves batman films would be so good
Steve Ditko, the original creator of the Question, was inspired by Ayn Rand’s moral objectivism, which says that morality is black and white without any gray, and that the moral thing to do is to constantly act in one’s own self interest. It is a hardcore right wing ideology. The Question was Ditko’s magnum opus and his thesis of objectivism. When Steve Ditko left the publisher, he made his own self-published comic with a Question stand-in, who berates social workers and takes pleasure in letting petty criminals, especially children, die. It’s interesting to see how these Question storylines almost seem like writers’ argument against Ditko and the Question’s original pathos. When he looks at morality as black and white, it is seen as a character flaw that he overcomes as he slowly comes to term with the fact people are complicated. He goes out of his way to save the lives of everyone, seeing human life as precious and constantly giving everything of himself to help and save others, even the lives of criminals.
Hey man just found the channel the videos are great and I love learning about heroes and villains and all these stories that aren't really talked about as far as ik lol but thanks again keep up the hard work and thank you for the great video

I was first introduced to the question through the justice league animated series, I grew to love his character as he was so much different from every other hero, I’m sad they don’t do more with his character because his character is so interesting
The answer to why I clicked the video, I really enjoyed the animated justice league series despite never having interest in comics and so when I read "the question" it made me think back to how much I enjoyed the character and I want to know more about him. simple as.
I love the last story about comics manifesting good. It's weird I'm in a point in my life where I'm questioning if I can really do good while also surviving in this crazy country. So to see a superhero like the question brings me a lot of comfort
The Question, alongside the Phantom Stranger are my favourite DC characters of all time. Idk, theres something about those deeply philosophical werdos that's just amazing and relatable in a way.

There's always something great about having a bad character do something good with no redemption, no moment of change, just proof that you don't have to be perfect to help others.
JLU did him so well too. Straight up my favorite character in the series. Its truly tragic how, they had such a unqique and interesting character, but then nothing ever comes from it.
I don't read comics, but I'm a fan of stories. I have to admit that The Question is one that is on my radar, and I agree that he is an underappreciated character. I do love Rorschach, and by extension I do think that The Question is an enjoyable story, a good concept of good character in a bad situation.
Its so sad how all we would need to bring this character to the main stream its just a lowbudget show in the style of daredevil or the arrowverse shows, he is literally perfect for thid type of format
Nice video. I had no idea so many people like The Question. I don’t really understand why I like him as much as I do, I just think he’s a cool, underrated character.
I love this character! I've been working on a script and story for him for the last 2 years. I don't believe it will go anywhere but I love Netflix's daredevil and it's world is very similar.
I f$ck I loved this video! The Questions’ always been one of my favorite characters due to his how he’s written and seen amongst the DC superhero community. Granted that’s based solely based off his Justice League | UNLIMITED version- and I think it’s sick! It’s so dope to know that he’s cool not just to me, but to other people. I honestly think he could’ve played a role in DCs ‘The Human Target’ somehow too, more so in solving the mystery of the book. Sht, I don’t see why he doesn’t have his own book now, it’d be the perfect time. It could serve as a meta book regarding current events too! DC gotta lock in.
@0:36 I disagree, because Rorschach isn't simply a copy of The Question. Rather, both The Question and Rorschach are copies of Mr. A. And, Moore created Rorschach to dunk more on the philosophy extolled in Mr. A. than of anything from The Question.
I'd never heard of Mr. A. before, I looked home up and both he and the Question are created by Ditko, so it's funny seeing the Question comparing himself to Rorschach which was a parody of Ditko's earlier masked detective.
Always loved the question as a kid just on the basis that he looked cool in cartoons but I never knew much about him beyond that having not read a ton of comics in general. Great vid
The sad fact is if they made a The Question movie today, most people would just think he's a rip off of Rorschach instead of his inspiration.

I remember reading the Question series when I was a teenager. This was a great comic book series that is not remember. Love to see the original Question comes back as a comic book series again.
I clicked on the video cuz YOU posted it and I love learning more about comics stories and you read them really well
This is definitely one of the best videos about The Question on the entire site!
Denis O’Neil’s Question is fantastic
I love the Question for his moral ambiguity and DEnny Oneil's run is highly underrated. The world is not black and white, it's a lot of gray and characters like the Question are needed to guide us through it. Thanks for pointing the spotlight on good ole Vic Sage.
I love the Question. I’ve got all his Charleton appearances, and the Denny O’Neil DC series. Great stuff
honestly I really enjoy the question, always has been one of my favorites, thank you for covering him with the respect he deserves!
Hell yeah man! Glad you do your own dubs and not some generated crap. Wish ya luck my dude
it really feels like his story isn't even at its climax yet!
Yes!!!! Finally someone making a video about the The Question. Thank you Mullet-Man. Thank you.
YOOO QUESTION SWEEP. I love you, Question. You’re the best.
The Question in JLU was the absolute GOAT
Man, Riddler is like THE perfect Question villain. Literally a match made in hell.
Appreciate your channel, man. Keep up the great work!
I clicked on this video becuase The Question is my favorite hero and I consume all Question content that crosses my sightline
GREAT intro! The Question is one of my favorite characters🙏
The Question is unironically my favorite. I've been collecting his comics slowly over the years.
no clue what happened but some switch went off few months ago where i gained a massive reinterest in him.
Want to see him on the big screen so bad him in the matt reeves batman films would be so good
I clicked because I love your content and wait for each to drop
Simple question at the beginning! I clicked on the video because I really enjoy your content :)
Hey man just found the channel the videos are great and I love learning about heroes and villains and all these stories that aren't really talked about as far as ik lol but thanks again keep up the hard work and thank you for the great video
I really hope James Gunn does The Question right in the DCU
He'll probably be a fuckin joke like Adam Warlock
is he actually doing him was it confirmed ?
I think I first saw the Question in an old Blue Beetle comic I had back in late middle/early highschool. I fell in love with the character right away. I haven't kept up with him but still one of my favorites
I feel like this character as a whole doesn’t give enough love I hope in this new universe we get a question project, hopefully
Never thought I’d see a video praising The Question without ever mentioning once Justice League Unlimited
The Question is awesome, I had to click.
Deadass my favourite channel
The Question, alongside the Phantom Stranger are my favourite DC characters of all time. Idk, theres something about those deeply philosophical werdos that's just amazing and relatable in a way.
I am The NashVillain & I've always loved The Question. Rorschach sux tho! My Dad was a P.I. for a lil while, when I was a kid & I loved going w/him, even tho I only got to go on the safe/lame jobs, or as I used to call em, missions.
Great video man! Cut your mullet. I'm from Nashville, I ain't bashful
There's always something great about having a bad character do something good with no redemption, no moment of change, just proof that you don't have to be perfect to help others.
Casting Jeffrey Combs as The Question in The Justice League cartoon was one of the best decisions that series ever made, and they did a lot right.
Why did i clicked? Simple, i see a Question vid? I click, he's probably the only DC vigilante that made me read a comic book from them. Simple as.
Denny O'Neil's Question is one of best street level superhero stories I have ever read.
FINALLY SOMEONE MADE A VIDEO ABOUT MY GOAT!!!
8:38 the fit goes crazy HOLY
HELL YEAH, Mullet Man talking about my favorite character, clicked the moment I saw it
Kiteman?
7:30 dude. Thats a fucking awesome story beat. These author's were onto something.
Its so sad how all we would need to bring this character to the main stream its just a lowbudget show in the style of daredevil or the arrowverse shows, he is literally perfect for thid type of format
I like how the question is never mentioned for top h2h fighters in dc when i was growing up i always liked him as found his whole persona cool
I clicked on your video because of Acevane and his parody of the Question here on youtube.
Superman: What's your superpowers?
The Question: I be asking questions 🤣🤣
Nice video. I had no idea so many people like The Question. I don’t really understand why I like him as much as I do, I just think he’s a cool, underrated character.
I loved him in Justice League Unlimited, truly underrated character
I love this character!
I've been working on a script and story for him for the last 2 years. I don't believe it will go anywhere but I love Netflix's daredevil and it's world is very similar.
I fell in love with the question from watching JLU as a kid. And the rest was history. 10/10
I clicked because I love the Question from the unlimited.
This man was my favorite character in justice league cartoon :)
Great vid
