this didn’t disappoint! i loved how gaps were filled and honestly sarah’s death hit harder here because we actually spent time seeing her personality and her and joel’s relationship. i’m excited to see where this show goes !
Even though I knew it was coming, Sarah's death still hit so incredibly hard. I think because they gave us more time with her and we saw more of their relationships. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey absolutely smashed it out of the park. Im so excited for next week.

* PRETTY BIG SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T PLAYED BOTH GAMES* Just finished watching the first episode come on to RUclips to see you guys have got a reaction out! Thought this might be up your street. I was cautiously optimistic for this show I wasn't sure If the actress playing Ellie was the right fit but she's winning me over pretty quickly. Not sure whether she would be a great show lead in season 2 but we shall have to see what the rest of the show has in store before I get too far ahead of myself. I must admit the key differences between the show and the game were all really well done. They fleshed out Boston to make it feel lived in which is certainly an improvement to the brushed over set design we had in the game. And the first appearance of the virus in the show was arguably better put a real sense of horror into that opening sequence that we never really had before. The call back to the soldier that shot his daughter prompting action from joel and the set up of how they found Ellie is infected was also a nice touch. The plane crashing was an absolute spectical as well and his daughters death brought chills and had me with a tear in my eye even though I knew what was coming. I can't say that of the changes they made in the show messed it up in any way. Pumped for the next episode and can't wait to see them moving through the city and more than likely dealing with clickers in the next episode! As always love your content and can't wait for more of this, the walking dead and better call Saul.❤️

Guy in the beginning. Not worried about viruses. Extremely worried about fungi. He was talking about humans being infected by fungi not viruses. Based on a real fungus that takes over ants brains and maybe I think I heard of another insect as well.

Another great video game adaptation, it definitely has plenty of special moments. They really did a good job of building Sarah up so you actually felt something when she got killed. Fun fact Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker who voiced Ellie and Joel in the game actually play different characters in this series.

They said they wanted to show how different from each other they are

Better Call Saul, TWD, The Boys, and TLoU at the same time is almost too much good TV for you to handle at once lmfao To discuss this show, episode one felt like jumping from Fear TWD season one to main TWD season six. Super cool to see time skip ahead so quickly. I can’t wait to see the rest of this story play out, the cast has been nearly perfect so far. Your cat is named Ellie? That’s so fucking adorable :) Every episode needs to be an hour or more to cover the whole first game this season, to do the story justice. They just can’t shave any more time off with only nine episodes. I hope season 2 and even 3 (if they’re planned) focus on totally original Joel/Ellie adventures set between TLoU 1 and 2, because we all know… Permanent endings (and probably an aged-up Ellie recast) come with TLoU 2’s story. The cast is so good they HAVE to stick around longer.

Yea the whole body burning scene was rough. Like everyone looks disconnected and just how casually they are doing that really drives home just how many people are gone. More so it's gut wrenching to realize if we ever had a black plague level of epidemic that's exactly how you'd treat bodies. At that point there's just too many to handle with dignity. It'd end up just being "oh here's anotha for the fire"
More fun facts...more of the the voice actors from the games are play characters in the series. But I don't want to spoil and tell you who and what characters. I have been so excited and anxiously waiting for this series. Im pleasantly surprised that you're reacting to it.

I am a super-fan of the first game. I was surprised about how much story we got in the first episode. I was very worried about this show, but now I feel relieved. The amount of detail is very cool. And the changes make it a little more exciting. I am looking forward to the next episode and your reaction to it.
Sarah's broken ankle seriously triggered me as I had the same thing happen to me last March when a truck ran a red light and plowed right into my car. Tried to get out of my car and was stopped when i tried to walk and the worst pain i ever felt sent me straight to the floor. Nope. You definitely can't walk, much less run on that.

Marlene from the game is played here by Marlene from the game. Other actors from the game got different roles. Troy Baker (Joel) will play a henchman of David and Ashley Johnson will play Elli's mother, which is especially epic. The boy who would be infected brought me a double flashback to The Walking Dead. Firstly, he looked like Lizzie and secondly, he reminded me of Sophia when she stepped out of the barn. I think the similar clothing and camera work caused that in me. I think that was intentional and a subliminal reference to the walking dead. I played part 1 and 2 4 times each and I had no problems to get along with all the cast characters immediately. And I was really skeptical. This series is going to be great.

i’m so happy you’re doing this show! i absolutely adore the last of us game and the show has done a great job (so far) of staying true to the game whilst also expanding and adapting it to a fit a different media.
Yea the whole body burning scene was rough. Like everyone looks disconnected and just how casually they are doing that really drives home just how many people are gone. More so it's gut wrenching to realize if we ever had a black plague level of epidemic that's exactly how you'd treat bodies. At that point there's just too many to handle with dignity. It'd end up just being "oh here's anotha for the fire"

I am a super-fan of the first game. I was surprised about how much story we got in the first episode. I was very worried about this show, but now I feel relieved. The amount of detail is very cool. And the changes make it a little more exciting. I am looking forward to the next episode and your reaction to it.

Sarah's broken ankle seriously triggered me as I had the same thing happen to me last March when a truck ran a red light and plowed right into my car. Tried to get out of my car and was stopped when i tried to walk and the worst pain i ever felt sent me straight to the floor. Nope. You definitely can't walk, much less run on that.

Marlene from the game is played here by Marlene from the game. Other actors from the game got different roles. Troy Baker (Joel) will play a henchman of David and Ashley Johnson will play Elli's mother, which is especially epic.
The boy who would be infected brought me a double flashback to The Walking Dead. Firstly, he looked like Lizzie and secondly, he reminded me of Sophia when she stepped out of the barn. I think the similar clothing and camera work caused that in me. I think that was intentional and a subliminal reference to the walking dead.
I played part 1 and 2 4 times each and I had no problems to get along with all the cast characters immediately. And I was really skeptical. This series is going to be great.

Aside from the global warming will allow it to jump species thing, that was nonsense ...millions of years of evolution created the cordyceps fungus and it's special parasitic relationship with certain insects is complex and unique. It cant just hop into a different species like some renegade virus. They were right about one thing though, there are no such things as fungus vaccines. They dont exist. Which undermines the premise of the show/game somewhat.

@@TomTomson81 Sorry. I misunderstood. You're absolutely right, the fungus is real and it does do that to ants. I was just pointing out that cordyceps jumping into humans is impossible.
