- Absolutely the best Pound Cake you will ever put in your mouth! It’s a staple on my kitchen counter! This is my mother's recipe and it has stood the test of time. I have tried a gazillion of pound cake recipes and this one is our all time favorite!!

Does the outer layer form a crust or stay soft? I tasted a slice once where the outside was like a cookie and inside was so soft. Still looking for a recipe like that!
I just found your wonderful video tonight! First off, I love how your last words are " Shine for Jesus"!! The recipe for Cold Oven Pound Cake has been a staple in my family for Birthdays and Holidays for YEARS..The only addition in the recipe I use is 1t lemon extract, 1t almond extract and the vanilla extract. Maybe try it sometime and see what you think? Keep on Shining for Jesus!
Thank you for your comment with the additional extracts! I have been trying to duplicate my grandmother's recipe for years (I knew it included almond but could never get it quite right) and the vanilla, lemon and almond together is perfect!

Just a tip for everyone:
FIVE EXTRA LARGE EGGS as MeMe used here (as the recipe is written) is the same as SIX LARGE EGGS. I had this confirmed from several other websites.
So, for those who normally buy only large eggs, add an extra egg. I've made this DELICIOUS cake twice now using 6 large eggs and it looks identical to the one baked here. And the taste is terrific! 😊
Great tip! I know some people use fresh eggs and they have to add a sixth also.

Meme my mother-in-law made a wonderful pound cake and she also always had one made and on her counter. I loved it so much with her sweet tea. It brought back memories when you mentioned always having one on your counter. Actually a lot of the things you do and cook remind me of her. She was one of the best cooks I’ve ever known. My stepfather loved pound cake. When I bake one I’d call Mom to tell I was coming over with the cake and my stepfather would be waiting at the door for me with a fork and plate! 😊

I can't thank you enough for this recipe. My British husband has never been fond of pound cake. Well me being born and raised in the South I love pound cake. Made yours and my husband just loves it. This is another winner. You showed how to bake rice in the oven and what a dream come true that was. It is perfect. I will never boil rice again.

Meme, this is a wonderfully delicious fluffy pound cake. Made it for the first time today on 9/11/2023 for my husbands 67th birthday on the 14th. Well, I love it! I added 1/2 tsp. baking powder along with a 1/4 tsp of baking soda. This is now my go to recipe for Pound Cake. Thank you so much for sharing, I am so happy. xoxox

I'm going to order a cookbook just for the pound cake recipe. My grandmother had a church cookbook with a similar recipe for a pound cake. When she passed I didn't think to take that cookbook, despite being the only one to ever use it. Bless your soul, you're a dear😀

Love this! I grew up in SC and there was always pound cake on the counter at my Grammy's house. She is from Mississippi but her recipes are similar. She puts cream cheese in her pound cake.

Yes the culture is the same from east Texas up through Virginia. It seems Alabama and Mississippi get all the blame, but Texas fought two wars over slavery. Most states just fought one. If someone disagrees, look up the resolution to secede passed by SC and the other confederate states. It’s not debatable.

I made this for company coming this weekend. Followed directions to the letter, even was proud I had Pam to spray in my pan. It broke apart when I tried to remove it from the pan. It wasn't dry, just stuck to the pan. Now I'll figure out another dessert. Unless I can save 1/2 of it.

Ok just pulled it out of the oven. I have a silicone Bundt pan, which was a bit small for the whole recipe so I made that and a small one. The small one finished first. It’s a really good cake. The texture is different from other pound cakes. First, there is no baking soda nor baking powder or salt. The whipping (the 10 minutes) I think makes the cake lighter so it’s not as dense as a regular pound cake. We all tasted it and we all like it.

I followed the recipe you sent me, thankyou.i was hoping to send you a beautiful photo but i had a couple issues. Firstly, i think my bundt pan is smaller than yours but that was easily fixed by making a smaller cake as well but! when i unmolded the cake, there was a sugary crust that fell off! I couldnt understand where i went wrong and then i realised that Au cups and US cups are a different measurement so i added a whole extra 1/2 cup of sugar, and basically measured everything incorrectly that threw the whole recipe out. When i get the ebook. I will make sure i measure things out by the ml and not by the cup. I cannot wait for the ebook Meme, thankyou for being so kind to send me the recipe

I have never used Driscoll, I use creanm cheese,I guess the Cisco makes it lighter?
So sad, I followed this yummy recipe to the T and it didn’t turn out as beautiful as yours. I think it was the 1970’s pan I used. Even though I sprayed it with cooking spray and let it cool before removing it from the pan. It still stuck. Going to buy a new pan and try again.

I made a pound cake by using a yellow super moist cake mix and adding a can of coconut frosting in the cake. So moist and yummy
