The defense is still playoff caliber in my opinion. The offense however is Dabo hiring his kid from being Iowa. That being said the issue on offense is not OC Garrett Riley. Our offensive position coaches are unqualified for their jobs. Thomas Austin is the only coach to have previously college experience, and he had one year coaching OL at Furman. CJ Spiller’s previous coaching experience was girls track at Liberty HS. MAKE THE CHANGES DABO.

Self inflicted issues in every loss or you would have an undefeated clemson team. Klubnik has caused a majority of it from ball security issues. After fessing up that he dialed his own number on what was supposed to be a handoff it is starting to make sense why even Shipley is having issues with the ball. What Clemson needs isn't second grade transfer players, but rather coaches who are experts at their positions. Dabo needs to fire his former players/friends that are not qualified. Specifically the O-line.
True freshman quarterback, who was basically handcuffed by his Offensive Coordinators play calls for the first three quarters, and Clemson knew they were going to run basically every single play and the vaunted Clemson defense couldn’t stop them. It’s very rare that Clemson is beat on both sides of the line of scrimmage, but it happened tonight. If TVD had played, this could have been a rout. 😮

Yeah as a Miami fan I've seen it happen to us way too many times. Your comment is insanely accurate though, we played like garbage for most of the game on offence, but the way our guys in the trenches on both sides fought to get turnovers and prevent them on ours ultimately won us the game.
Good win For The Canes. I'm a Cane Fan however i refuse to say anything bad about Clemson's Program especially after they've put The Whammy on Miami The last five plus years or so. Man this was a hard fought win for Miami but The Canes won nonetheless. Clemson is still a Good Football Team, they're just no longer dominate.

We had 30 yards rushing and Cade was under pressure all night and still managed to put up good yardage. That's not a QB issue, it's a coaching staff issue. He was statistically over 90% of the offensive production last night. But Clemson fans are too low IQ to understand this and they'll just resort to blaming all the problems on the QB...
We are really young and inexperienced. Next year I expect to be in the running for 12 team playoff :). Hopefully we will get 1 or 2 OL from the portal.

Doesn't make sense why you or anyone thinks this. Venables locked down the defense but had no control over the offense. Clemson issues right now are primarily offensive and it is mostly stimming from Youth. Venables just like DAbo had the benefit of back to back generational QB who didn't need development. Klubnik can be good but obviously needs time to adjust to college ball and college speed.
First off hats off to Miami running game looking like Alabama, seriously! Chaney size reminds me of those huge Bulls that Nick Saban had during the Alabama Championship Runs. They were huge, fast, and physically challenging to stop. So hats off to Miami! Dabo, Dabo, Dabo, man you are starting to sound like Lou Holtz did in his final years at Notre Dame, when all it would’ve taken to turn things around would have been to put together a brand new staff. Lou didn’t do that, and well we all know how that story ended. Dabo, you need to let Garrett hire an offensive staff, and on the Defense side, hire a new defensive coordinator and let him bring in his own personnel. New Recruiting Staff is definitely needed, so they can recruit Championship talent once again. If you do this Dabo, and let them do all the things needed to prepare for the season and just manage timeouts and the clock, then watch things get better, who knows perhaps another conference title and a CFP title. Change isn’t easy, but it’s needed Dabo!

We’ve fallen so quickly. It’s crazy that we were competing for championships just 2 years ago. It’s pretty concerning and I absolutely hate the trajectory of our program currently. If Dabo stays stubborn and doesn’t use the portal. Clemson is done. When you have players enter the portal and you don’t replenish, it’s going to hemorrhage your talent. And now, we’re losing and not competing for championships anymore. Which means less exposure. Which means recruiting is about to take a hit.

GO TIGERS forever and always. North Carolina got it much worse tonight. Obviously I want us to win but I'll always be a TIGER no matter what. I see 2 changes coming. 1, Jeff Scott should come back to coach the receivers. 2, we should go get a guy like Manny Diaz to be our defensive coordinator. We need somebody who can bring the fire like Brent did. We should keep Wesley Goodwin as an analyst but I don't think he has the fire our players need.
Clemson would be a better football team with Jeff Scott and Manny Diaz in the coaching staff, and like Brandon Streeter, Wes Goodwin should have never been promoted from within. Dabo should have hired a top DC to replace Brent Venables instead of lobbying Neff for a $3.5 million raise.
I liked Manny much better as a DC than a HC. He knew when to dial up pressure and got the most out of his players. Unfortunately, as a HC, he was not a strong recruiter or judge of talent. It eventually caught up to him in Miami. He's a quality guy though and as a DC, would be an asset anywhere he's at.
No question, Clemson's turnovers have been costly, but I also think the offensive play calling is awful. The offensive plays are so predictable. Got to agree with DJ on his perspective about the play calling at Clemson. It has to get better...

Every one of our 3 losses have been gifts to the winning team with turnovers, missed tackles, and we won the stats in those losses. If I recall during this Miami game the announcers said that Miami did not have 1 single offensive snap of the ball on Clemsons side of the field in the 1st half. Get things fixed..... beat N.C. State, Notre Dame, North Carolina, and the Gamecocks and it will be a good season.
If "Ball Security" is important to helping TEAM WIN, Shipley should have been benched. Take his helmet!!!!! Prove to the team that it matters, Coach. Step up and COACH THE TEAM.
I’m sorry to be the one to say it but can we recruit guys from the hood/grew up rough that PLAY W PURPOSE instead of pastors son’s that are here to just have fun. We are too SOFT. And I think we have yet to see this as dabo’s fastest team like he said😐we lack speed big time. Does anyone think maybe it’s also time to recruit good linemen for a change, we got bullied tn just like alot of games. The offense line hasn’t ever been great but w how much we lack on offense I think good linemen would help. We don’t have to change too much, just a few tweaks and approaches to recruiting. It also doesn’t help that this is a VERY inexperienced coaching staff compared to many of our previous teams. Brent Venables was always Clemson’s MVP and it’s being proven now
Doesn't make sense why you or anyone thinks this. Venables locked down the defense but had no control over the offense. Clemson issues right now are primarily offensive and it is mostly stimming from Youth.
Venables just like DAbo had the benefit of back to back generational QB who didn't need development. Klubnik can be good but obviously needs time to adjust to college ball and college speed.

First off hats off to Miami running game looking like Alabama, seriously! Chaney size reminds me of those huge Bulls that Nick Saban had during the Alabama Championship Runs. They were huge, fast, and physically challenging to stop. So hats off to Miami! Dabo, Dabo, Dabo, man you are starting to sound like Lou Holtz did in his final years at Notre Dame, when all it would’ve taken to turn things around would have been to put together a brand new staff. Lou didn’t do that, and well we all know how that story ended. Dabo, you need to let Garrett hire an offensive staff, and on the Defense side, hire a new defensive coordinator and let him bring in his own personnel. New Recruiting Staff is definitely needed, so they can recruit Championship talent once again. If you do this Dabo, and let them do all the things needed to prepare for the season and just manage timeouts and the clock, then watch things get better, who knows perhaps another conference title and a CFP title. Change isn’t easy, but it’s needed Dabo!

We’ve fallen so quickly. It’s crazy that we were competing for championships just 2 years ago. It’s pretty concerning and I absolutely hate the trajectory of our program currently. If Dabo stays stubborn and doesn’t use the portal. Clemson is done. When you have players enter the portal and you don’t replenish, it’s going to hemorrhage your talent. And now, we’re losing and not competing for championships anymore. Which means less exposure. Which means recruiting is about to take a hit.

GO TIGERS forever and always. North Carolina got it much worse tonight. Obviously I want us to win but I'll always be a TIGER no matter what. I see 2 changes coming. 1, Jeff Scott should come back to coach the receivers. 2, we should go get a guy like Manny Diaz to be our defensive coordinator. We need somebody who can bring the fire like Brent did. We should keep Wesley Goodwin as an analyst but I don't think he has the fire our players need.
Clemson would be a better football team with Jeff Scott and Manny Diaz in the coaching staff, and like Brandon Streeter, Wes Goodwin should have never been promoted from within. Dabo should have hired a top DC to replace Brent Venables instead of lobbying Neff for a $3.5 million raise.

I liked Manny much better as a DC than a HC. He knew when to dial up pressure and got the most out of his players. Unfortunately, as a HC, he was not a strong recruiter or judge of talent. It eventually caught up to him in Miami. He's a quality guy though and as a DC, would be an asset anywhere he's at.

Every one of our 3 losses have been gifts to the winning team with turnovers, missed tackles, and we won the stats in those losses. If I recall during this Miami game the announcers said that Miami did not have 1 single offensive snap of the ball on Clemsons side of the field in the 1st half. Get things fixed..... beat N.C. State, Notre Dame, North Carolina, and the Gamecocks and it will be a good season.

I’m sorry to be the one to say it but can we recruit guys from the hood/grew up rough that PLAY W PURPOSE instead of pastors son’s that are here to just have fun. We are too SOFT. And I think we have yet to see this as dabo’s fastest team like he said😐we lack speed big time. Does anyone think maybe it’s also time to recruit good linemen for a change, we got bullied tn just like alot of games. The offense line hasn’t ever been great but w how much we lack on offense I think good linemen would help. We don’t have to change too much, just a few tweaks and approaches to recruiting. It also doesn’t help that this is a VERY inexperienced coaching staff compared to many of our previous teams.
Ps, there are guys in the hood that’d fit our culture as in talking about wanting to grow as a man, Dabo just might be afraid to dabble w them especially w nil now
