The same is true for the dental care and pharmacare and all the programs aimed at low income families. All these programs do is create a dependency on the government that leads to an increase in the debt and tax increases that leads to more low income families that need more programs and more debt. Canada has a triple A credit rating and that credit rating is backed by the money in the CPP fund.

But many are not lifelong academics, have just as much experience in the average workforce and do work 40hours+. Especially if they both teach and do research. Those university folks are there to apply their knowledge and do the information publishing and research to move innovations forward. I don’t want ones on that don’t work full time, but rather than completely silencing the most current knowledge and deep thinkers and drivers of innovation that many are, I would much rather have news outlets vet those brought on to make sure they are the ones who work and who contribute to the benefit of Canada in their work.
