This is EXTREMELY off topic of this video, but was wondering if you could do a more indepth video about the sugar substitutes. I am having a hard time getting the sweetness I want with my baked goods. Especially the chocolate ones. I made a chocolate chaffle the other day and it called for allulose, but all I had was a Monkfruit/Maltodextrin blend. I substituted that and it tasted HORRIBLE! I was like eating a bitter cocoa powder egg. Is there a trick to substituting to get the same sweetness and do the Monkfruit based sweetners lose their sweetness factor when heated? I even tried this stuff in my morning hot tea and it didn't taste at all sweet. If I take a little straight, I taste sweetness tho. What is the deal with this issue? Loving all your videos and hope you keep them coming. They are very helpful. Down 10 pounds so far in a month, but sure do miss my chocolate treats.
Angela: Throw out anything with maltodextrin. It will throw you out of ketosis. Carbs in it are just as high as sugar. Try Swerve, erythritol or allulose. If you can’t get the sweetness you like then you need to skip the snacks for a couple months. Give your taste buds a rest. When you go back even a little sweetener will seem overly sweet.
@@dontfit6380 Thanks for the tip. I have looked at other sweeteners in my stores and seems the maltodextrin is very common in them. :( I am continuing to use the blend I mentioned because the cost is too much to just throw it out. According to my blood checks, I am still in ketosis even though I consume it, and losing steadily. After all this is used, which shouldn't be long, I will try to find a better alternative. I had taken a several month break on sweets because my cravings just went away after eating this way. Yay! However, I do hope to find a suitable sugar replacement so I can have some 'sweets' from time to time and when I have guests over.

THis is the most woodsy earthy flavor I have ever encountered. Tasted like grabbing a bundle of prarie grass, weeds and all and chewing on it.. The fresh sage and mushrooms together is so over powering ... I tried cutting it with more broth, more cream, allulose, salt everything under the sun until I finally dumped it in the garbage where it belongs. Shame nothing compares to good old fashion Campbells...
Strange... everyone else loves it. Not sure what the issue is for you, but I certainly don't find it like eating grass...
@@AllDayIDreamAboutFood yeah the combo of fresh mushrooms and the fresh sage was awful. Perhaps I should have tried just dried ground sage, maybe less pungent. I've made a lot of keto soups and have had good luck until this one. But it was worth a try. Not too much wasted, just some mushrooms and cream really .
