Footage of this appeared on Diamond P Sports' VHS tape ...And They Walked Away 2. But I'm glad to see the race in full.

They gush all over the SBC rightfully so. But in 1989 a non-Chevy powered sprint car won the WoO sprint car championship.
Bobby Davis Jr. drove the Casey Luna #10 FORD Powered to the 1989 championship and 5 years later Dave Blaney did it again with the same car.
I met BDJ at Hanford in '89. He signed one of his sweatshirts which I still have today. I'm two 2 for 2 in the year they signed they won it all department.
In 1992 Alan Kulwicki signed my Sears Point program...as did Ned Jarret but I was only watching from afar in 1965 so I thanked him for driving a Ford. He liked that😊

No disrespect to Ford or Bobby Davis Jr., Bobby’s only WoO title was due to the big boys running another series. Even in 1989, Doug Wolfgang had 7 more A-main WoO wins than Bobby. Bobby was consistently a top 5 points driver from the mid 80’s until 1990, but Steve Kinser owned that show. Steve had won six WoO championships in a row pre 1989 then came back and won five more in a row after 1989. Dave Blaney won the title in 1995 when Steve Kinser ran a limited schedule and still had six more A-Main WoO wins than Blaney had on the season.
