Such a humble guy. He could have made himself appear like some kind of synth wizard, but clearly very secure in himself. His work speaks for itself, and it's refreshing hearing people who are honest.
Hair at the back of my neck is standing up listening to this and watching how it was put together. Brought back a lot of great memories. Thanks for making this!!!!
Adamski. If you read this I have to say that you are a legend to me. You were the one one for me that gave me the best nights of my life years ago. I danced to you playing live at lots of raves, illegal parties and some great nights. You were up there with all the top acts back then. Respect to you.
Masterful. It's almost weird how Adam describes the messing around in such a simplistic way, since the track is certainly not a walk in the park, given how well the vocal and the strings and keyboards gel together.
Adamski Killer was a walk in the park for Adam when he was innovating. If you play a few notes and run it through some random delay in the moment pressing buttons and it sounds good then you roll with it and that's a part finished. It takes a lot more effort to put something back together, like a broken vase. Also, Adamski Killer was mixed in a professional studio (Advision in London) on an SSL console with the SSL G-Master Buss Comp so that's the gel you are hearing.
AMAZING! Nice, can’t wait to settle in for this one. I saw Seal perform it live in 2015 and he’s got the best voice of anyone I’ve ever heard. You could have taken the mic off him and he’d have filled that arena while still sounding amazing. Such a powerful vocal.
Great deconstruction of an absolute classic 90s track. Valerie is impeccable! Love her singing and personality since Galiano years. Stunning performance! ❤️
Still got my N.R.G adamski T shirt that I got from a biology rave ,I played his album to death back in the day and only played it again the other week, brilliant piano tracks ........I wondered what had happened to him ,nice to see him again.
I HAVEN'T BEEN FOLLOWING YOU FOR A WHILE BUT REALLY LOVED THIS ONE . GREAT WORK AS USUAL. IT'S A KILLER, ALWAYS SPOT ON WITH THE DECONSTRUCTIONS. RESPECT
(Just for the record i am not the Adamski aka Adam Tinley featured in the video) . Nice break down. I remember the rumor mill saying the bass was Minimoog model d. Great to hear it from the horses mouth. The piano is very unique and refreshing to hear at the time after so much M1 Piano. God bless Adamski 👍👍
@@maccagrabme At the time i was unaware as it was certainly not a preset i had come across in all years of owning the Sq80. I pretty programmed my own sounds apart from using the preset piano.
Ski Oakenfull, masterful as always !! Amazing to see Adamski in "real life" again - damn, wish I could just get stoned and make a track like this one ... bowing thrice :)
Iconic track.. great to see Adamski ! in the early 90's I had an FZ10M the screen went on it so I got an Akai.. was using C-Lab Notator.. still have the dongle. Thanks for a great vid Ski.. well deconstructed :)
One of the best deconstructions I’m binge watching so far! Amazing to hear Adamski and how he did it. Similarly I recommend finding Rick Beato discuss “Kiss from a Rose” by Seal who similarly drops in! and says how he wrote it but couldn’t play an instrument and was just playing with his new 8 track. Sounds like you can do it all on feel and a ‘spiky’ set of talents
Weird that nearly 30 years later this track still sounds fresh.
Timeless.
Just like Pump Up the Valume from Maars.
Because that was MUSIC

Fantastic job Ski and the added surprise of Adamski appearing in person. 💯👌

Hard to overstate how immense this bassline sounded in clubs compared to almost everything else at the time.
OMG, the man himself, Adamski! The guy's a legend!!!
Simplistic yet still awesome 30 years later.. I'm glad I lived through 80's/90's, THE best two decades for music.
This is fascinating. Great work, and Adamski dropping in was a nice touch too. If you're taking requests, I'd love Voodoo Ray deconstructed.
It's a start! ;-)

Doesnt sound like a moog, it sounds like one of the SQ80 presets so not surprised it is this synth.

i always loved the string sounds /harmonics in this track..
Fantastic work, thank you so mutch ;-)
Great job. I think the ring-mod percussive sound in the original is so amazingly distinctive. Gives some needed grit. 🤓
As good as it can get IMO: great de- en reconstruction and an interview with the man himself.
