When you realize the ancient aliens series is really just a stealth documentary on how European colonization utterly destroyed even the concept other cultures having basic engineering capacity.
that plus a bunch of blatant old school nazi propaganda being broadcast to a wide audience. used to be my favorite show too! looking back it honestly explains all of the nazi alien episodes. like no joke, one of the archaelogical societies they constantly cite on the show is the Ahnenerbe, which was established in 1935 by Heinrich Himmler to find "proof" of the existence of aryans and to create propaganda to use against the jews and communists. anytime they bring up the Ahnenerbe they are quite literally talking about The Nazis.
Even when we give other cultures credit we give it to the culture that introduced a concept to Europe rather than the culture that invented it. There's so many ancient metal works sand murals from Africa, we know the Indian mathematician who invented the concept of 0 was named Aryabhata, but because those things came to Europe through Arabic trade vast intellectual credit was given to a people rich in trade but (at the time) deeply regressive in science and culture. FWIW, the Easter Island writing thing is kinda an exception here. Writing has only ever been independently developed three or four times in history, and the people who say that generally agree that none of the independent developers of writing (the Chinese, the Mayans, the Sumerians, and possibly the Egyptians) were white. Given this, the idea that the Easter Islanders probably didn't independently invent a writing system for their own language strikes me as being less about how white people can't invent things than about how almost no one can invent writing. (The main point being made at this point in the video is correct, mind you.)
I know this is one of many small things one can gripe about when it comes to History Channel, but this got to me. They think it's noteworthy that they found a "nazi coin" as if you can't just buy one of those from a coin collecting magazine. I randomly found three coins from Kazakhstan two or three years ago, and I'm not making a conspiracy out of it. I just got real excited and showed everyone I knew.
This isnt to discredit your point about how ego-driven the Nazis were, but I do want to mention that a lot of modern day military technology and tactics were being developed during the course of the two World Wars. Like, the first World War saw the invention and implementation of tanks, mustard gas, and flamethrowers just to name a few things. Therefore, these "Looney Tunes tactics" as you mentioned probably would've been effective against any army during that period of time because it hadnt really been done before. These same strategists that tricked the Nazis with basically blow-up dolls also got totally wrecked by what were essentially Vietnamese farmers and their glorified bear traps. War is hell, period. Its also worth noting that Hitler and his generals were really cunning strategists, but Hitler himself also had an addiction to meth that slowly crippled his decision making throughout the course of the war. Thats not to say we couldnt have beaten the Nazis otherwise, but it probably would've dragged the war on for much longer than we would've liked, and its debatable that we probably would've had to resort to nuking Nazi Germany as well after Japan was dealt with (which we should be grateful that that wasn't the case, it would've negatively effected a majority of Eastern Europe). Although, its equally likely that the threat of nuclear armageddon would've forced the Nazis to surrender as well, just as it did to Imperial Japan (which consisted of soldiers with a much stronger will). So its a bit hard to quantify how strong our "Looney Tunes tactics" would've been against Nazi Germany during that period of the war otherwise, although I personally believe that they still probably would've gotten tricked by the blow-up dolls.
Its a weird feeling to have Quinton flash a picture of the parking lot where Hitler died and realize that it was the appartment building where I lived for a few months

Definitely a great part in my sleepy vids playlist
Well, I THOUGHT I'd be getting a decent amount of sleep tonight, but this is more important. See y'all on the other end!
Quentin looking sharp! You're doing god's work, guys, I would know nothing about ghosts in 20 year old houses without them ghost hunters!
For a moment there I thought the Bob Dobbs Garfield comic was real.
"Aliens dont like white people." Is a take that has stayed with me for years.
I think the end of the world video might be my favorite Quinton video
I've seen all this before, but I'm watching it again! Still hoping for that Bigfoot video sometime
Quinton's Magnum Opus collected all in one spot!
oh my god i only just noticed you put "ding dong, the witch is dead!" when talking about hitler's suicide.
2012 documentaries were the shit back in middle school. You better talk about Life After People in your next vid.
I find the irony of them confusing Moe and Hitler amusing because Moe, a Jewish man, played a Hitler analogue because of the resemblance.
A verified Warren Greggsky video
Thanks for this, I was about to watch them all today as I work, but this version is comfier
"someone told these people where to put these stones" yea the project managers and engineers
Awww yeah just in time for me to wash the dishes! I love these long bois, they help me focus on chores. Idk why but my kitchen has never been cleaner than when I have QReviews on in the background.

- if I die! You have to find my ghost!!!
- I definitely wouldn’t do that-
"Watertown Strip" sounds like a novel about rabbits.
