It kinda did take away from the game for me as a kid, even if I didn't realize that was the case. I didn't give a shit if Perry the Parasol had some unresolved Grandpa issues or whatever. I would've enjoyed learning more about Peach, or having something else play out in those breaks to keep me invested. But watching the same dream over and over and just getting slightly further along every night? No thanks. I'm a person who likes a good story with my game and SPP is not the game for that.

Now that I'm aware that all the enemies also go through the emotions that Peach makes use of (which no other review I've seen of this game has mentioned), I completely agree having those emotions be Peach's main mechanic is not sexist. Unless, of course, we're suddenly going to extrapolate that this means that every enemy in Mario games is female, which is ridiculous. And yep, the lack of care put into developing Peach's character does strike me as terribly disappointing.
steven Frost yeah that’s pretty much true character like Luigi and daisy have more personality then the main characters I don’t personally mind it as Luigi is my favorite of the two but it be nice to have Mario have something unique
Uh...Luigi's Mansion 3 would like to know your location. Like seriously, that game was basically bursting with character. Especially for someone as basic as Mario. It wasn't much but he appeared far more active and energetic instead of reacting in the most basic way possible. His character is somewhat shown to be hyper and eager to get things done compared to Luigi who is shown to take a more slow and cautious approach at all times. This is heavily shown just before the final boss via Mario outright ditching Luigi in order to run ahead and find Peach, while constantly stopping to call out for Luigi to hurry up.
This game honestly sounds so much better than how I've heard people talk about it, to the point I kind of want to play it were it not for Perry. Hopefully someday soon Peach gets another game where she's the star.

I mean, they were never gonna make Peach THAT interesting, for the same reason they are never gonna make Mario that interesting. They get to experiment with side characters, which is why Luigi is the best character (fuken fite me)
They should do a new princess peach game , The emotion powers and the fact that she can get abilities through the shop are nice additions and also there should be more princesses that you rescue and can use along the way :) also the ost is so good
wow actual critique of the game and not just people regurgitating other people's other pc opinions very nice Jirard this video is actually huge plays nothing cringey about it
About Jirard's argument of games marketed to women. That's why I like Samus, she is a character that us men like because of how badass she is(also sexy, we all know it). But women can also feel represented correctly with a female warrior. Now Peach is different, she may not be a badass, the emotion powers are a bit off if you ask me, she could have used other types of magic as we've seen in Mario RPG. Maybe the emotions could not have been exagerated but enabled spells, say for instance gloom: Instead of Peach running crying, maybe she would be seen visibly sad while summoning a thunderstorm. Or Rage, instead of she exaggerating gestures of anger, she could be seem angry while throwing a fire pillar or engulfing herself in flames as in the game(my problem there is the exaggeration) So my point is, the emotion card is not the problem it's how it was played. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk
My main Gripe with Super Princess Peach is this: In order to go to the Final Boss, you MUST find EVERY Toad, Therefore you MUST go out of your way to find the secrets, Only for the Bowser Fight to be....kinda dull
I mean, it seems like the game wants you to really add exploration to the tasks, on top of finishing the level, although I will say it will be odd for the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom to not rescue Toads as a priority hehe.
Tbh if I had a paycheck inbound I would have got the (75 dollar) VIP tickets for the QC show you're doing, but hey, the 12 buck standard tickets weren't too big of an ask! Very excited for the show!
Honestly the only ones saying this game had sexist undertones were the failed game journalists, wannabe feminist vloggers and the bleating sheep that followed them.
Also thought the whole equating "vibe" with "vibration" in a sexual manner was low-hanging fruit and clearly wasn't the intention of either Nintendo nor the localizers. Emotions are contagious and, as the saying goes, you can spread good vibes or bad vibes.
i gotta be honest the whole "emotional balance" angle seems like kind of a stretch to me. i guess you can read that into it if you want to, but its not really a proper theme of the game.
What the heck, earlier today I played Super Princess Peach for the first time in months, and I started thinking about critiques and positives one could bring up in a review. And whaddaya know, later the same day, Jirard uploads a review of the game.
When do we get a Birdo protagonist game and how would it play?
Or a Daisy game! XD Birdo would be the same like she was back In super Mario bros 2, but alot more sass and fasion Into her!
I think Nintendo's kinda on the edge withe birdo with the whole gender thing
Nintendo's not really sure if birdo is a boy girl or neither it's so confusing
I would like it I think depending on if there was more mechanics other than shooting eggs out of my face. Would that be the main mechanic? Probably

Bowser in the Mario and Luigi rpg series and Luigi himself in the Mansion and rpg series have had the best character development over the years.
They should do a new princess peach game , The emotion powers and the fact that she can get abilities through the shop are nice additions and also there should be more princesses that you rescue and can use along the way :) also the ost is so good
People: Keep your emotions in check. Especially if your a British man.
Me: *I'LL SHOW MY EMOTIONS WHEN I WANT TO!!!*
Too bad Yon Rogg’s words are inconsequential, just like the Captain Marvel movie.
I don't care if people call Super Princess Peach sexist. It will still be my 2nd favorite DS game of all time
I'm so glad to see a positive review of this game! I really loved it as a little girl, still do. Played it so much my cart broke!
wow actual critique of the game and not just people regurgitating other people's other pc opinions very nice Jirard this video is actually huge plays nothing cringey about it
Developer: so what if we named the mcguffin the "vibe wand" haha itll give em a laugh
Me: no... just no 🤦♂️
About Jirard's argument of games marketed to women.
Or Rage, instead of she exaggerating gestures of anger, she could be seem angry while throwing a fire pillar or engulfing herself in flames as in the game(my problem there is the exaggeration)
So my point is, the emotion card is not the problem it's how it was played.
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk
Good point
"You Saved The Green Man."
Nintendo...He's your character, you don't need to worry about copyright lol! 😂😂😂
Wow.
I clicked this thinking I'd be watching yet another RUclipsr bashing the Vibe system.
Thanks for the interesting take on a well-known issue!
Jirard in a dress makes me think of Joesph Joestar.
"When It Comes To Completing Games I Can Get Pretty Emotional."
That's a mood! 😭😭😭
Lol, love how the Jirard-Peach has leg hair.
My main Gripe with Super Princess Peach is this:
In order to go to the Final Boss, you MUST find EVERY Toad, Therefore you MUST go out of your way to find the secrets, Only for the Bowser Fight to be....kinda dull
I mean, it seems like the game wants you to really add exploration to the tasks, on top of finishing the level, although I will say it will be odd for the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom to not rescue Toads as a priority hehe.
#HugePlays well Perry sure is lame, still would love if Nintendo brought back Main playable Peach
13:06 They have to be acknowledging it at this point, oh my god
"The Completionist Legacy Tour is coming to you if you live in the Midwest."
Minnesota: Am I a joke to you?
I honestly feel bad for Luigi. OMG.
2:58 does the emotion of the 'vibe wand' happen to be Lust by chance??
Peach don't kill my vibe
i gotta be honest the whole "emotional balance" angle seems like kind of a stretch to me. i guess you can read that into it if you want to, but its not really a proper theme of the game.
What the heck, earlier today I played Super Princess Peach for the first time in months, and I started thinking about critiques and positives one could bring up in a review. And whaddaya know, later the same day, Jirard uploads a review of the game.
