Mike is the Bob Ross of woodturning
I've watched a lot of your demos Mike, but this one, focusing less on sales and more on very comprehensive technique, was by far your best. You didn't overlook anything, and went further with small but important details than some well established pros have done. Still, you presented your products used, so it's win-win for all. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, have fun turning! 😊 -Mike
As a novice turner…it never ceases to amaze me, that by introducing other artistic venues, one is able to take a typical wood turning project to a whole new level… the absolute artistry created by this technique is simply stunning…Thank you for both showing and teaching us the possibilities…taking a seemingly simple turning project to the next level!
Could you add a link to the "Self ejecting paper towels?" Loved that line! HAHA!!!
😊
Inspiring to be sure. Mike has turned out to be the best presenter on U Tube Great job.
This is the only channel that can make me watch an hour long video 😊
And now another project inspired by you all that I’m going to get in the project queue.
I really enjoy listening to him! He is to the point where anyone can understand on how to make that!! It's quite a piece that you would see in an expensive store or at gallery!
My students will love this video! They have been asking questions on dyeing pieces but I don’t have very much experience with it. Thank you!
That's great to hear! 😊 -Mike
Mike, you are a great instructor, clear and really communicate what you are doing and why very well. I appreciate you guys and what you do for our craft!
Finding these videos extremely addictive and can't wait to get my lathe and start turning.
Thank you for watching! Have fun turning! 😊 -Mike
I'm not usually a big fan of using dyes/coloring, but with right features and grain it sure makes this piece pop. Nice work!
Beautiful bowl! It was great to see the entire turning and finishing steps
Thank you for watching! 😊 -Mike
I've been turning of sorts since the 1970s. Love learning new things... to this day! Love it.
Mike, when are you giving a class on dying wood? I would love to take one from you. One thing I really like about your videos is that you really take the time to explain what and why you do something. Please do more.
Mike, you are a grest instructor and explain everything very well. Thank you.
Nice job, Mike. Really inspired to try something new. Thanks.
Great job Mike. Your teaching style is excellent.
A great video that not only presented how to make the platter but also showcased all of the products needed to get a fantastic finish. As a newbie these are exactly the videos I seek out to improve my skills.
This platter is beautiful! Would love to give this as a gift to my mother!
Very nice piece. Never seen a piece being dyed
I always enjoy Mike's demos. He presents information very clearly. I was suprised to see poplar with so much figure.
Really made the grain pop. We just had a popular tree cut down and this has given me some ideas.
Thank you for the kind words! 😊 If you make one tag us on Instagram! -Mike
Mike sure made it look easy to use dye to add embellishment to the piece. I just might have to give this a go! Beautiful job!
Thank you for the kind words! Go give it a try, and let us know how it goes. 😊 -Mike

I appreciate your videos. Your teaching along with the demo is very helpful for me. Thank you.😊
Great colors and like the idea of shellac in the dye to lock it in place.
Wow - that is an excellent piece and demo. Thx for the demo Mike!
Wow, this is a really nice effect. I'm going to try this out on some bowls. Huge area to explore!

Awesome video!! Mike is the best presenter by far!! Loaded with great tips and techniques that makes the whole thing soooo easy to understand and learn! I recently bought some Scratch Free and the 3 micro magic polishes, but thought the micro magic was just for acrylic! Great to know it can be used on a spray lacquer finish too!!!! Looking forward to the next sensational video!!!!!

I've a couple of pieces of very curly gum that I'd love to try this on! Looks great 👍
Well done and a beautiful piece. Like that you used a marker to add a defining line between the color and the natural wood. CAn't wait to try this on a pice of maple I've had a few years.
