Item 1: animal tracks which have begun to melt change shape quite a bit. Item 2: The length of the trail may have been exaggerated on the 'me too' principle. And, if I'm not mistaken, wooden pattens--which fitted over shoes--of cow tracks, even backwards tracks, were common during the olden times. Those can still be seen in museums.
Fascinating. I watch our neighborhood rabbits make these tracks after ever snowfall. I can just sit warm in my house and watch out through big windows without them knowing. Folks in Devon probably couldn't have that opportunity. And on the hunt for something large, they'd ignore the bunnies, who would have hidden from the people anyway.
Rousing good tale, John, and puts the 'curious' in " Curious History "!! I wonder if a zoologist was ever brought in to take a look at the footprints? My guess would be the usual suspects - ghosts or aliens. Thanks to you and your team for another great story to inspire the imagination!👍
Thank you John, for yet another wonderful Curious History story. I wonder if they will ever find out, who or what it was. This leaves one scratching ones head. Hope you and the Family are doing well.
Thanks Nik! The graphics are all Megan. She’s editing for me full time now. Big weight off my shoulders. She put this on my radar as well. Not sure where she got the inspiration but I’m glad she did.
In the the early 90s. I bought my wife. A Russian blue. Cat. For Christmas I watched that. Cat walk in his own. Foot prints. In the snow. But we’re about the size of a. Half dollar.
Hey guys how's y'all doing? Yup there's a lot of strange creatures running around in Devon, there's also regular reports of large cats (mountain lion?) and all sorts, there might also be some Squatches knockin' about the place. The strangest creatures in Devon are the people though... but nothing compares to the terrible creature I recently encountered, it haunts the mountains of Colorado! It stalks women, pounces when it's too late for the victim to run away, and then abuses the women and then it eats them!!! It's a really terrible creature, it's hideously ugly, and it hides in an old cabin in the Sangre de Cristo mountains not far from Westcliffe (Custer County/CO) where it goes to hide in order to... ahem, go about its dietary habits of eating women! It does hide in abandoned mines too, and there's lots of them in CO! I encountered it and it's so terrible, I'm still recovering from the shock and that was weeks ago... I don't know what it was, a Squatch maybe? No idea but it was absolutely terrible! I can assure you guys, that was no human being... Shudder! Don't go alone into the mountains folks!!!
@@CuriousHistoryYT Be careful, it's a terrible creature! It's very aggressive! And it's cunning - it hides and then pounces when it's too late for the women to run away!
@@kristymanning987 So you think that's funny? Okay then, tell me about the crazy ideas your great great great times 8 grandparents had! Back in those days, folks weren't that unhinged as now you know... they were too busy surviving to be attention seeking like that, especially in some cold Devon village during winter!
@@randywhite3958 Not in 19th century Devon - it was harsh especially during winter, it's unlikely that someone would have put footprints of hooves in the snow for miles around some villages. And where would his, ie the prankster's, footprints be?
Illustrations? Sketches? As for pranksters, look up a book called "If At All Possible, Involve A Cow, A History of College Pranks".....mid 1800s had nonsense well underway.
Donkeys can walk in a very narrow pattern....but cloven hooves? Depends on the shoes. Wouldnt put it past some donkeys to get on roofs, though...stubborn lil buggers, love em.
I've been haring about this for years but it still doesn't mean that, the Foot prints of the Devil. No one know's what kind of foot the so called devil had these people are dumb.
With so many cryptids we dont know about, the possibilities are endless. Thanks for another creepy story.

I’ve seen those rabbits tracks as well. Hmm…I wonder
A bunny that leaves hoof marks...???

Hanging in there my friend. Hope you are doing well!
Love the intro graphics, John! Also loving the story based across the pond. What made this ping your radar?

Nice!
It was Mr Tumnus....in this universe, he comes thru the closet into Earth. While in Narnia, the humans came thru the closet....
Love this!
Fact truly is stranger than fiction!
Thanks love y’all’s videos

Nice job this skeptic leans toward human pranksters.😮
In 1855??? Folks didn't have crazy ideas back then...
