Just want to say thank you so much for being so informative! I’ve been thinking about starting the process and I watched a few videos and none of them have been as resourceful as yours are. ♥️
Another amazing and informative video. You are so brave to take such an adventure and I loved watching you along the way. Can't wait to see what's in store for this chapter. xoxo
“I'm from Waterloo, where the vampires hang out!” …..i know you’re from my 2nd Favorite Canadian City, and not from Waterloo (neither am I), but I saw the BlackBerry Movie a few weeks ago, and have been wanting to drop that quote in your comment section! Love that thumbnail V.!
Hi! I'm moving to London at the end of January, and I'm trying to decide what to pack with me now and what to ship later. Any tips on shipping services for large boxes from Canada to UK? I don't know what to expect for shipping costs, so it is impacting what I'm shipping vs giving away.
i actually didn't ship any of my stuff, but i will for sure next time if i go back (hoping to in 2025 hehe)! I ended up just taking a few suitcases but so excited for you and your big move!!
hey! I'm 17 and graduating from high school next year and am looking o get a head start into researching what it'd be like to move to the UK. your video has been incredibly helpful in making me think about what its'd actually be like to leave Canada but i still have a question. do you know anything about the price of living outside of London? right now I'm looking into working as a receptionist and i know they don't make the most pay wise so i was wondering if it was even worth it. thank you so much in advance you've already been such a help to me! 😊😊
Hi! That’s so exciting, and good for you :) I know the prices outside of London are significantly cheaper but commuting is super expensive if you plan on traveling into London. You could also look into Au-Pairing as well, that way you have a free or much cheaper place to live in London. So many options, so excited for you xx
@@vickymorg thank you so much! I'm glad to hear it is less expensive outside the main city. usually that is the case but it never hurts to check. ill also have to look into Au Pairing though you're right it sounds like a great opportunity to see if this could really be in the cards for me. do you know if you have to be a student at that moment to be one? i might be looking into just traveling for a bit so if you don't have to be a current student this could help me so much! thanks again i may be back for more questions too if that's ok lol. have an amazing day:)
Nope, you don't need to be a student to be an au pair! It's definitely a good option to be able to travel and afford being over there if you like kids/have experience with that :) I've never done it but I've heard great stories from a lot of people xx And ofc i'm here to answer any Qs! You can also DM me on insta.
Thanks for sharing this video! Is there a video about why you didn't stay? I want to get this visa and I have it set in my head that it'll only be for 3 years so it won't be as shocking if I do or don't end up staying in the UK. Obviously it'd be ideal if I got a work visa but again, setting my expectations low!
My visa expired and I wasn’t able to get a work visa at the time 🥲 the extra year extension (making it 3) had just happened at the end of my two year so it was just bad timing for me. Hoping to go back someday though, it was amazing!
@@vickymorg Ahh okay that makes sense. How was it "starting over"? That's probably my biggest fear. I'll be coming from the gta in Ontario! Edit: can you do a video about your experience for the 2 years??!
That’s totally fair, it’s definitely hard at times and can feel scary and lonely but in my opinion it was totally worth it! You get to meet new people and experience new things, I tried to say yes to everything (with boundaries ofc) and didn’t worry about judgement so i joined clubs, did bumble bff, try everything :) you have nothing to lose!! i’m so excited for you
oh that's so exciting, there are so many brits in canada!! it depends on where you go in canada but it all has it's own way of being amazing (i'm biased but it IS amazing) lol
@@vickymorg I got family in Ontario so would probably aim to stay near them for a while. How did you find life in London? Busy isn't it on the tubes, think I am just fed up of people now from commuting to work haha.
@@danielfriday5403 yeah i definitely get that, i felt that a bit when i was doing the commute almost everyday. it's busy in Toronto where I'm at now but nothing like London so it might feel slower and more chill in comparison :)

This is such a random question but we’re all your fees in USD? I’m at the point where I’m dealing with the IHS fees and it’s making me pay in US not pound or Canadian which makes it like $50 USD more per year 🥲

On the SIM card, you can buy them at vending machines at the airport in London near baggage claim. Not sure about other parts of the UK.
right yes!! should have mentioned it’s totally fine to get one when you land too :) i just wanted mine before i moved

hmm that’s so weird?? that didn’t happen to me but i’d definitely get ahold of someone at the UK gov because you shouldn’t have to pay in USD!
