Honestly, I wouldn't mind an hour long video. I just found your channel recently and you had me hooked to this series. I love watching pro's challenge themselves. Keep up the great work! I'm excited for the next video
I don't. These longer videos are usually the point where I lose the series, because I interrupt watching them and postpone the rest until I lose interest or forget about it. I already lost two series on this channel so far that way. 20-25-Minutes are a sweet spot, they usually fit into a "free-time gap" before bedtime or after lunch (and I can motivate myself more to watch them to the end if only 10 minutes remain instead of 35). The longer ones with 35 minutes or so left I don't pick up again, 'cause I decide to watch another 20-minutes one instead, until I forget about it. Also, if you don't watch a part for a while, youtube stops recommending me the video after a few days (and also its successors). And then, a couple of weeks later, I get part 17 of the series recommended when I stopped watching at part 4.... oh great, now I will never find the time to watch the missed episodes, having like 4-8 hours of footage to watch...
i wish your longer videos preformed better, i would happily watch an hour+ episodes from you! until then, back to watching the max achievement run in between uploads
You can also watch his VOD uploads, they’re like 3 hours of gameplay. 🙂 That’s what I do sometimes when I just want more. 😉 The link is in the description
In older versions(before spaced out) I had a planetoid with 5 Natural gas geyser 3 was close enaugh but other 2 was far away built a huge pipe system for just them and I was kinda new at the said time so I built the door crushing infinite gas storage (I didnt know all I had to do was pour 1 kg liquid on to a vent) and stored up to 4500 kgs of gas in a single tile it was a 2*3 box so it was a lot
@goat_of_the_net if you know how to build one and have a storng enaugh pc unlike me you definitely must build sour gas boiler even if you dont need energy it generates more water and dirt I built one for 10 kg / sec input of oil and built a clean ind brick pumping all co2 into my 10 max slickster farm leftovers going to space and My game was strugling after I built my 30~ nat gas gen
I don’t like using the top priority trick either, so I do it another way that just gives me some information, instead of all. If you use a building block you see the shape of it, where you can’t build. Saving the excitement of discovering exactly what it is, while still being able to prioritise where I go first. Like if I’m looking for water Geisers, I can see that it’s a geiser, but it could still be a carbon dioxide one.
Once again, I was playing my own colony too much to watch the video. I solved the energy crisis with power plants. However, with no metal volcanoes on my home planetoid, I’m on borrowed time. Also, I may need to upgrade my cables into heavy-watt conductive cables sooner than I thought.
But you don't have metal volcanoes tho, you might want to keep two strand for a while or since the two strand and conductive use the same amount of resources you can slowly regain metal and replace it. You'll have to be careful with the metal consumption after that tho
@ I found a close planetoid with two metal volcanoes. I’m sending a group of four colonizers to tame them. I’m also currently setting up a radbolt factory to use interplanetary launchers to set up a network quickly.
@ Wheezeworts. I don’t have uranium. The planet I’m going to does have a radioactive biome, but my industrial sauna is at the bottom of the map (doubles as geothermal) and is too small.
Dreaded TO BE CONTINUED?!?! Choice words for recording echo! Those words include good and/or job and/or rabble(x2) and/or hydrogen-powered-spom-tamer-Mc-boatface.
I would prefer that editing Echo mind his own P's and Q's! I would have happily watched an hour long episode of recording Echo's episode, thank you very much. Chaos is good mmmkay?
This playthrough makes me want to strat a freash colony. I made it to the end game a few times, i am working now on my achievement hunt colony, but I never tried any higher difficulty or a specific challenge, and this seires is really giving me the ich
i usually have the shellfish that give food until i run out of the resources to feed them. Theyre usually not hard to maintain and i typically have a lot of gunk to feed them.
I wonder how much cool can your hydrocooler provide. I would probably add another SPOM just to the right on the existing one and use the same cooler to cool the oxygen, but math need to be mathed out first :D
21:30 this is why i saw this setup strange, it so popular but only support about 84% capacity, 1 electrolyzer need about 1.7 gas pump but in layout only has 6 pumps, i think because it is box,
The efficiency isn't maxed out but I guess the point is that it doesn't waste resources. No power or water is used during the cycling. I tried maxing it out by making a sort of "negative pressure" spom that kept max vac on the room with 6 constantly running air pumps pumping everything into an adjacent room with high pressure vents and it was definitely inferior because then you have to reckon with the gas in there. Might as well build a hydra or, ya know, 2 spoms lol. Edit: if you add another pump for oxygen you inevitably bring the hydrogen down into the oxygen area and then have to mess with filters and stuff.
I have a stupid idea for your oxygen production. Hydra instead of Rodriguez With hydra you can place more gas pump in oxygen chamber. You will need a better cooling solution, as those elecrolizers will run 24/7, but this also means, more oxygen for dups, with less machine to run and less space to use
For your next oxygen system, why not make a hydra to show off some alternative builds in the series? Their 100% up-time also means each electrolyzer consumes more water/second, so you'll need fewer electrolyzers to consume all of the water on the planetoid.
I will say there is a slight issue with 7 high digging. they do like to get stuck at the end of the shift just below the ladder and too high to get down.
At some point here won't you run into space issues with all the spoms you'll need to build? I know you don't like using many exploits, but for this particular series wouldn't be best to think about using an expandable hydra for your oxygen generation? Love the series can't wait for the next episode.
Soo, hydrocooler, even though we know it's hydrogen cooler, it sounds like it uses water. Hydro. Just a heads up. Awesome video though, I'm loving this challenge.
Why do you yell at Recording Echo when Editing Echo didn't just record and edit an outro in post instead of slamming Recording Echo. Editing Echo is the one who didn't try! Shame, Editing Echo!
the carbon dioxide for the meal wood in the drecko ranch: are you sure you used to do it on purpose or was it just something that happened because you vacuum it out, add hydrogren and then the carbon dioxide just naturally accumulates as the dupes do the ranching???
Can I ask has Echo ever said why he doesn't use Hydra's? like I get it it is a bit cheat-y with it's infinite storage and soggyness to prevent over-pressurization but I think it might be something needed in this play through
I mean I'm ok with you putting breaks in where needed, but to drop the TBC on whether my dupe suffocates or not? That's just cruel Echo! How am I supposed to sleep tonight not knowing if dupe me made it?!?!
Like we would mind an hour+ long video. Dude we play this game, we live to waste a lot of time in it, and it doesn't matter, by ourselves, or watching someone entertaining playing it😅
I've never played ONI and so the answer to my question might be evident, but why don't you boil polluted water, salt water or brine and insted clean them? TO me it seems that boiling them would require less duplicant labor and can be more easily automated.
is there a rule all the dupes have to live? cause you could sacrifice some weak sheep if you have too 🙂. Also you need a Francis style Gym for those slow moving noobs.
echo you should stop thinking of unconstructural dupes as bad: you will have a lot of dupes wich will get your building needs done *but* while these building queues are being dealt with (same goes for undigging dupes as well) all the dupes that cant doe building errands *will* take care of other tasks. so at one point it will be essential to have unconstructive and undigging dupes simply to ensure everything is being dealt with.
GET IT TOGETHER RECORDING ECHO!!!!!😂😅
Past Echo creating future Echo confusion

Oh no, a 50 minute episode, the horror.
His metrics show that he loses engagement on longer episodes. Blame the ADHD new age kids that cant focus for more than a tiktok video.
In my most recent ONI play through, I’m amazed how many natural gas geysers I found on the first three Planetoids. 10 total

Echo, if you want to say something to surprise us, say "today, everything is fine, and we don't have a lot to do"
Its fine Recording Echo lol. Honestly it isn't much different when you have to cut an episode when a different problem is occurring :P
Loving this series very much! Great work as usual :)
One Job Recording Echo!!!!! ONE JOB!!!! but doing a great job at it by the way.

There is a monitoring / notification app called iLert so Eilert interrupting you with a suffocation notification is immensely funny to me. 😂

just re release a supercut at the end. i just listen while i play oni, never sure whats actually happening

I don't blame echo. I blame kevin. Somehow, someway it's Kevin's fault.
Echo has an island in the bottom right of the map
Again I still think you should be able to print care packages only when you get poor rolls on dupes you don’t want in the colony echo.
I mean I'm ok with you putting breaks in where needed, but to drop the TBC on whether my dupe suffocates or not? That's just cruel Echo! How am I supposed to sleep tonight not knowing if dupe me made it?!?!
Could the carbon dioxide in the ranch be for thermal transfer because of the heat?
Mealwood in carbon dioxide and suits because dupes will breadth oxygen and then you get mixed co2 and oxygen when they exhale ?
Like we would mind an hour+ long video. Dude we play this game, we live to waste a lot of time in it, and it doesn't matter, by ourselves, or watching someone entertaining playing it😅
Why not run a hydra? More efficient and they should avoid any gas deletion issues that can be run into with mixed gas rooms like a Rodriguez setup.
Did echo say otter dupes?
in a challenge where oxygen is main hurdle why not use the more efficient hydras? You would be building less spoms in the long run
I've never played ONI and so the answer to my question might be evident, but why don't you boil polluted water, salt water or brine and insted clean them? TO me it seems that boiling them would require less duplicant labor and can be more easily automated.
