“50 characters and we are still talking to random NPCs every quest” thank GOD someone said this
This is really the biggest reason I can't give a shit about any of the quests in genshin anymore, even main world quests are about some 1 time npc instead of one of the million playable characters they could give the spotlight.
To be honest if they actually put the playable characters into the main story every time id be way more invested and actually pay attention instead of some random npc that has a knock off name of some other playable character

I played religiously until the end of inazuma, then I started losing my love for the game and playing genshin ended up feeling like a chore instead of a game to enjoy. I think the most memorable moments was the tower defense, playing against two jacked enemies cause me and my friend gave us all debuffs and buffed the enemies to max lol, and last but not least playing hide and seek with friends around dragonspine, liyue, etc. (before the hide and seek game came out)
I think it was the same time for me. Inazuma Patch gave me some of that old feeling back when the Game first came out. Grinding these Sigils to level up the Tree, and exploring the Map with the stunning Music etc.
I didnt really feel the need to go exploring in Sumeru that much, and I even took a few Months break from the Game...
Same but for me I was rlly excited about the sumeru because of the desert map and when it came out its just disappointing, characters and story didn't hit the same as inazuma and the didn't add anything new except for a tcg

The moments I spent in genshin impact I can always remember. I can still remember the people I hung out with playing genshin. Sadly though genshin just doesn’t hit how it used to
None of us fall under their main demographic unfortunately. CN players are where most of the money comes from so that is who they listen to the most.
With very few exceptions, if the characters are generic, the quest isn't worth paying attention to.

It's actually kinda sad tbh. I remember when I started playing, during the Golden Apple, I loved it, so much content, so much to enjoy. Over time, as I built, grew, etc. Now. While sure, there are elements I am excited for. But my hype for the game itself, is so far down the toilet, it's unrreal. What happened man.

Hmm, personally my enjoyment of the game is still pretty high, albeit definitely abit lower since its been 3 years since. This is prob because I got a job and barely have any time to play games normally, and whenever i have time to play for exploration/ quest and what not, it genuinely feels good to play then. So yeah, definitely depends on perspective.
I’m pretty thankful I started playing Genshin late. I have an insane backlog of exploration content, and quests.

Quests are NOT something to look forward to. You're just sat mashing through hours upon hours of dialogue that means literally nothing. If you want the story, you should look up lore videos and summaries, don't expect Mihoyo to deliver a good story in the right way.

I totally get that pain from parents throwing out your games due to media hysteria about ‘video games are the devil, kill your focus, destroy academics etc. Had to hide all games in folders and hope my dad or mom only deleted the shortcuts

I remember always being so hyped for each version live stream, until one day I was surprised that a new livestream came out 10 hours ago.. it rlly showed how I slowly lost interest. Which is sad, Genshin was one of best experiences of my life in Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma. But after Itto came out for the first time, I never got THAT excited for a new chat anymore. Then my hype went into the new map, which was the chasm and sumeru, but now Fontaine’s coming out and I’m not that hyped. This is just part of life, some day I’ll come around
I might be one of the remaining few people that truly enjoy Genshin 'cause I'm consistently behind on everything except limited time events. Since I play sparingly and mostly focus on building characters, I have a huge backlog of quests to play through which helps fill the lackluster patches
Naah, i still have most of my quests and stuff since 3.2, but I just can't bring myself to watch a 2-3 hr long story quest movies that has way tooo many dialogues and the plot is pretty mediocre waifu husbando thingy.
My characters are built and new recent characters have been just pretty lame and mediocre so I don't have any motivation to farm primos for anything.
Even when i try to get any character, it comes down to... For what? What am I gonna use that character for?
Idk what happened, but Genshin just lost it's charm.
@@SauravKumar-ki4bn Genshin's quests are really hurt by the terrible pacing, dialogue bloat and focusing on npcs that don't matter not gonna lie. I mostly skip through except for voiced dialogue with characters that really matter
The combat has never been good enough to grind for super hard since I mostly play fighting games and Devil May Cry, which is why I play sparingly. Ultimately, Hoyoverse can't or won't make a game that makes you invest lots of time into and I've just accepted it. There's other games to take seriously and I just come through once in a while, play some quests, get decent artifacts and log off
@@FOF275 yeah, even I have shifted to other action RPGs like horizon and Elden ring, it just crazy how much better pacing and combat Genshin could have but they choose waifu and husbando over everything.
@@SauravKumar-ki4bn My guess is they'll either let the game die out and just move on to the next one or they're saving these big changes for when players truly leave so they pull people back in again. They've become too successful to feel the urgency to make changes quickly either way

They hate the players, they hate the art and even money if mihoyo recent banner numbers are anything to look at, it's definitely getting lower with each patch.

People are just self-centered about this subject. A game is not gonna die just because you quit playing it. I play Genshin 5-10 minutes every day and it's is perfect for the pace of my life. This game is simply designed for casuals like me. Have you ever wondered why this game has a lot of time-gated content? They even time-gate in-game events, which means that you'll have to wait until tomorrow to unlock new parts of the event. This already shows their intentions of wanting players to play it little by little each day.
The game keep breaking sales records, still peaking 65 millions players, this guy is a bozo if he think this is dying...

I remember the vagabond event I think it was called, where you can modify the enemies to be hard as shet. And I would be getting requests from friends to help them out, and I'd be getting my shet rocked as Eula, and we'd keep trying over and over and it was hilarious xD the amount of stupid deaths and dumb mistakes... but when we finally got it, we were over the moon.
That event next to the original Archipelago back in 1.6 will forever remains my most cherished memories of genshin impact.
Rest in peace, my favorite game during covid.

I've been feeling this aswell. It's been a little over a week and i've only logged in half of the days. missed a whole spiral abyss. Couldn't even be bothered to use resin for artifacts. Wich to me after all this time in genshin has been the most depressing thing i've ever experienced in a game. And i've played grindy JRPG's. I just dumped my resin into blue craftable crystals for the few days i logged in; and doing that a few times i somehow finally woke up and realised: wtf am i doing !?. Trying to go for another half assed character that will never recieve a voiceline or animation update or a skin. With the unlikely but hopeful hangout event :S

From the early access to the CN Beta to release I was super excited, reading up and studying all the info we had, checking website daily, and when we got a couple months in I realized the ONLY content is playing a new character/Team comp. But the reality is it was way to expensive to invest in off the jump.

I just want to pick a specific substat, reroll it, and any levels put into it are re-distributed. Crafting is so bad in HSR outside of Head and Glove pieces, make it so salvaging 5* relics has purpose.

However the official posts is titled "How to Submit Feedback on Issues Encountered in the Game" so idk if pure feedback can be made through there.. Personally, I have a small txt file where I write feedback down from time to time and copy it into every survey I get in-game lol

Out of like two friends all the people I know that played genshin told me they quit a fair while ago
I remember how fun this game used to be. I played when Diluc and Jean first came out and my god I spent so much time on it (due to the pandemic). This game made it to where I looked forward to what happens next in their story. Only downside is the pure torture it can be for F2P players. My characters aren’t that great and I have yet to clear Spiral abyss (gave up because genshin devs don’t know how to fix their enemies and just gave them a crap ton of hp and called it a day) I explored everything so far and I started to slow down playing during Inazuma and Sumeru. The game just felt like a job at this point due to me having to log in, collect small rewards and using my 160 resin and Barely getting anything. It eventually made it to where I just gave up on the game. I felt more better afterwards and the only time I’d ever download it is if they have new story or a new area for me to explore that will keep me somewhat entertained for a week or so and then delete it again.
I always forget Genshin is co-op until someone like this guy brings it up.

Wouldn't be so bad if they had more co op content to play. I don't play online to play solo to be very blunt. If your game mandates me to be dependent on the internet I better be having more people to play with not just infinite solo loop and then if it loses internet connection I cannot play it, that is absolute bullshit. The one Gacha i played and never spent money on, just massive amounts of time; is Bleach Brave Souls. There is enough content for me to save up FTP and summon for characters. But through many account mistakes i have made it taught me how to treat Genshin so that i don't waste my money AND time. But any Gacha as ftp should be played in moderation to avoid burnout or the Gacha effect
People complain about artifact grinding, because there is nothing else to do. The devs needs to add permanent content. NO! SHITTY TCG DOESN'T COUNT AND IT WAS A MISTAKE!
All they had to do was recycle the Tartaglia/Hu Tao event from I believe 2.3, that event was already good, and then improve it as the time goes on. Or even keep the fucking Divine Ingenuity event with combat focused content.
Hoyo does not care and it never will, they love Honkai and they want to migrate their Genshin playerbase to HSR. Everything about HSR doesn't make sense, because the improvements there should be implemented in Genshin.
I hope HSR dies out just to spite them.

I'm someone who still plays Genshin, I'm just not AS invested in it like when I first started. The only time I'll really play it is during big updates (like when they introduce new regions), archon quests, and character story quests.
And I also log in weekly to get the transient resin from the Serenitea Pot lol
I still love the game, thu I have never played since 3.2 , I just want another game I can enjoy just like I enjoyed genshin man, It's thanks to genshin I got soo many friends online and made soo many things to do and to say when I open online either on social media or on games.

In 6 months i can finally say genshin impact helped me through graduating... Even though i haven't played it in like... 2 years now.
I'll say this one thing for any gacha game... For things like relics, I really wish we could just farm as much as we want, without using resin. Let that be something we could infinitely farm and use resin on the other things like boss materials, credits etc. There's just so much needed to farm with such little resin.
That would really be harmful for most people though

day 1 player but i stopped for about a year, just doing daily commissions, then dropping it completely but picked it back up again recently, love for exploration re-ignited which i very like about the game :)
Is part of the they'll tell you, when they call you dumb and leave because you can't figure out a puzzle as fast as they want you to but you do it less than a minute after they leave.
The last time I remember getting excited over a true quality of life change in Genshin was when they added Condensed Resin. A new system that made the daily grind just a little bit faster.
The only day Genshin really go for good is the day that all the story is over.

I used to care using up the full resin recharge and doing dailies, and that involved waiting to make sure I used up the full day’s resin. The waiting part was ruining my mental health. Now I use up whatever resin I have when I log in, don’t bother with dailies, and log off. Sometimes I don’t log in. It’s much better this way.
I honestly see you uploading a video about this every year and the people typing the same and yet when another update comes out you guys go back to pull and play again so I don't think Genshin is dead at all

19:30 the bank system tectone is talking about is 100% something that can be done becuase they have that system in Honkai impact 3rd. it has a max that it can overcharge but you can overfill i'm currently at 470 and the max is 165.

@rolandneese5135 I mean.. I've "dreamed" of the exact same system.. when you get over the 180 cap you gain 1 energy every 18min (instead of 6) and this reserve caps at 2400 energy. That translates to 30 days of inactivity since your regular cap has been filled, at an efficiency of 33%, i.e., you will have a 10-day's worth of energy when you come back.
P.S. just fell asleep and dreamed of 240 cap in 1.3 lol

( F2P -> Alha / Fischl or Kuki / Xinqiu / Yao-Yao ) Haven't checked his constellations too much, but at c0 r1 he's fkin next level cracked. He whipes abyss like it's a joke, specially this new one. I just don't know how to put it into words lol. I'm just gonna say i cleared the whole thing from 9 to 12-3 in 30'.
The point to keep going is the story and the characters, I never got 36 stars, and never really cared getting it. i think it's perfectly fine only paying it after patches or for events, and only doing dailies in between (or not).
I want to get as far as I can before I have to delete the game due to data storage issues. No idea when that's going to happen but I finally unlocked Inazuma

Was playing genshin a few days before. And man was it so fun...until I realized how many quests I had to do. As a f2p its basically free primos. But as a hsr player its basically a chore. Hsr made my life too easy with the quest dialogs lmao
haha i feel u. i just played two days ago and today i quit for same reason as u,its quite enjoying with beautiful graphic,then become boring with so many dialogue, also bad gacha system and free stuf is not compelling compare to mobile legends. i would rather play that to have more fun and not doing a chore
I was playing genshin daily. There was no day without it. But since 4 weeks, I have stopped. It was a mixture of the design of the desert and basically searching the underground temples for days to find the dendro orbs, the absolute horrible spiral abyss design that is: „oh yeah let’s just give mobs 500% more health so you need C6 characters with perfect stats to clear max stars“ and also the horrible luck. In my opinion, 50/50 should not even be a thing. You pull for a 5* and you will get that 5* when you pulled enough. But I lost my 50/50 4 times in a row. All those things made me finally break.
As much as I'd love for events to be permanent and other quests to be voiced, looking at the patch sizes... I can understand why it is the way it is now. File size is their worst enemy here, especially since this game is mostly mobile focused. It really is a shame.
Easy solution is to separate everything and make one-time story scenes and all events into DLC that you can install and uninstall when you want to do them and when you're done with them.
The real reason why the new characters never become a revolution to the combat or playstyle is because hoyoverse limit themselves with the body variations and weapon types. Like, literally there's so much potential if there's more buff dude like the fatui guys and more weapon types.
Yea, just look at honkai their characters from the first launch to now is like 2/10 to 10/10. The genshin characters have still the same kind of mechanics since the game launch
@@chrome1966 Exactly. The reason I'm interested waiting for genshin back then in the first place is solely because how flashy and dope the combat looks from honkai impact 3rd. I was like "damn, they're gonna make this but open world? I'm sold". And now 3 years later, the combat still nothing compared to HI3. Like, yeah the ultimate is cool but the impact is not there bro (pun intended lol).

I agree that artifact farming is a core part of the game, however, it becomes a problem when there are layers upon layers of RNG.
Take Genshin for example, when farming artifacts you need to get:
1) the right artifact set (1/2 chance)
2) the right piece (1/5 chance)
3) the right rarity (1/16.67 chance)
4) the right main stat (1/5 for sands, 1/6 for goblets, 1/7 for circlet _note:_ not actual rates as they differ greatly e.g. EM is 2.5% but HP% is 19.25%)
5) the right number of substats (3 or 4 for 5* gear)
6) the right substats
This is what's bad about the system. And this is also why the Self Molding Resin is _soo_ good in HSR, it bypasses several layers of RNG, namely the first *FOUR*

One thing I hate so much about Genshin is the f*%king co-op when you trying to farm artifacts or go kill bosses sometimes in other peoples worlds they don’t even have it unlocked so like we’re just sitting around like I guess I have to leave you gotta do your year long story done😢 and they need to add some thing where you can do story mode together on co-op or side quest
This is literally me with Destiny. I made so many friends that I still have and talk to, play other games and dnd with, hell I was even a groomsmen for one of them, but I can't play the game anymore. I will always remember and respect it for what I got out of it, but sometimes you gotta move on.

Any game where you have a % chance of getting something is a 'pay with your time' type of deal, this includes every MMO ever, WoW's mounts being probably the worst case of this, but even raid items have cause ridiculous drama. I would say being able to 'pay with your time' in Genshin is great, because a lot of buy to play triple A games these days won't even give you that option.
33:58 this is part of why i like hsr combat so much, because of the “break” system EVERY CHARACTER uses, it feels so much more cool and adds 10x more hit satisfaction too
Also no one noticed it but characters are insanely expensive to get even one copy,like you need to spend at the very least 200$ or more to garauntee one copy then you need 6 to have the complete version of your character,thats beyond than just predatory,thats criminal

I ain’t defending Hoyoverse but I will say that it’s unfair to call every character “expensive” like the average player wants every. single. character. When that isn’t true at all. The majority of players are smart, save up and then pick and choose who they want.

Why do people still have these baseless expectations of genshin needing to be hardcore and must have enough content so you can play for hours on end. This game isn’t an mmorpg like diablo or a shooter looter like destiny 1/2, this is a casual, turn your brain off, fun gacha game that you can spend maybe an hour playing doing a quest or exploring. This game is far from dead and it’s sad to see so many people call it so just because it doesn’t fill their overblown expectations that they made up themselves.
Personally the abyss for me isn't easy and I get tired easily if I have to repeat the chamber more than 3 times. I'm sure if they made the game harder a lot of people would quit

Maybe because in many people mind genshin is like Open world action RPG with overload content with extreme combat so they expect genshin to jave those in the game, and tbh genshin is not quite a "Casual" game category because genshin is open world and you have to play the game manual for daily and do abyss it's not like an actual "Casual" gacha game like Blue Archive which is the real casual game because all you do is fast and you don't need to spend that much time for daily

The contradictions in the genshin community confuses me. Lol complain there's nothing to do but added content is bashed but praised in other games. Lol are crying something added in the new update that I won't mentioned I got spoiled unfortunately and I won't do that here but it's considered a problem bc it "adds complexity" when otherwise, the game is "for babies."
I mean sure, my brain is different. Covid didn't effect me the way everyone else was. I never get bored of something I enjoy. I watch movies 30+ times and still laugh like an idiot at some jokes that I've got memorized. My point is if they are miserable, move on. Teccy your point about time not being wasted on fun is true. It's not. This weird idea of time being valuable isn't new but recently became new age i guess when those same ppl waste their time in more vital ways. There are even bible verses about God speaking of the good of ppl enjoying the good things in life. Gaming is a hobby. It's supposed to be fun. Genshin, other gachas, offline games etc it doesn't matter.

probably one of the biggest pros about genshin will forever be the combat system, IT IS SO WELL MADE it's kinda crazy especially when you dive deep into it
one great example is electro-charged, sounds simple right just throw hydro and electro, NO this reactions is INSANELY COMPLICATED on another level hence why i disagree with teccy when it comes to theorycrafting, it's very very cool and uncovers a lot about the game and swirling and stuff
however i can relate so much to this video it's sad:my genshin interest peaked at dragonspine and inazuma and .. that's it, i didn't like the million dialogues of sumeru and the huge environment as much, they really need to ad something for endgame asap, the game is at its all time lowest rn and it's sad
I would like to say that when it comes to theorycrafting, when you make your characters too good every enemy just becomes a reskin of a hilichurl because you can kill them so fast they don't even react(I'm saying that as f2p). At some point you can just invalidate any enemy mechanic.(unfortunately that might also happen to HSR eventually)

honestly, many of the arguments people use to bring genshin down are just downright ridiculous.
- no, it's not that there's "nothing to do" in genshin, it's just that of the large amount of content the game has, a chunk of it isn't interesting/enjoyable to YOU. you don't have to enjoy every single thing genshin offers, but don't act like it doesn't exist just ecause you don't like it.
- no, hoyo doesn't just consider genshin their cashgrab & they do actually care about their players and the game itself. it's just that making changes to a huge game like genshin that's been out for almost 3 years, even if they're minor, isn't as easy as it would be to make them in newer ones like HSR, and when you have to pump out updates EVERY six weeks (which is far more imressive than people give it credit for), the main content like new quests, maps, bug fixes etc take priority.
people tend to mix up actual facts and mere opinions so easily. just because you don't like a certain aspect of a game or wish there was more of another, doesn't make the game itself better or worse objectively. if you go into genshin expecting things that the game was never supposed to be about, of course you're gonna get disappointed, but that's only on you.
edit: that being said, of course there are issues that could need some major improvement, and it's important to address those. but hyv HAS shown that they do listen to their players, so personally i'm deciding to trust that they'll get to things eventually.
