This is always my "go to" video when I need to warp my Erica. I don't use my Erica very often so I always have to come back here for help. I think this is the easiest, most clear video out there on how to warp the Erica.

I've considered moving up to a table loom from a RHL but most of the warping videos left me feeling like it was too hard to warp. This video really explains it well without making it seem overwhelming. I now know I do want a table loom and am looking forward to working on it. Thanks.

Oh thank you for this, just ordered this loom. Am moving up from a Ashford knitters loom and had looked at everything and was feeling daunted but you've explained all so clearly. Much appreciated.😊

I used this video for warping my Ashford table loom that I added an over-castle raddle to and it worked out well. I still may pick up an Erica loom in the future, if workshops become a thing again. It looks like a nice loom. Thanks for the video.

Thank you so much for this information. Just purchased a Louet Erica Table Loom from George Weil in England. No shuttles or treading tool was included in my said purchased. I called them up because Ashford Table Looms includes these tools. Was told they did not do that!! What do you think??

What can be done about the rear ratchet/brake? Unless the screw is tightened as tightly as possible, the brake will not hold in place. I noticed that the rear brake is diagonal, while the front brake is horizontal, like the Jane brakes. The horizontal brakes work perfectly, but the diagonal brake doesn't hold with tension (the warp).

How do you feel the Erica compares to the Jane (besides the obvious detail of Erica having 4 harnesses and the Jane having 8 harnesses) ? Thanks!

    • @LouetWorldwide
      @LouetWorldwide  4 года назад +4

The Jane is generally a more "polished" loom with a few extra features.
      - swinging overhead beater with rigid support on the top and bottom of the reed
      - a self loading spring to hold the beater back to give you a larger weaving area
      - the toggles have a positive lock position, so they are less likely to "accidentally" flip down
      - carrying handle on one side (Jane 40 & 50 only)
      - rubber feet on the side of the loom so it can be stored or set on its side without damaging the wood
      - the frame of the loom is solid beech vs a laminated beech
      - the loom frame for the Jane is simply more substantial and sturdy than the Erica
      - The carrying bag for the Jane is much more substantial - Erica bag being a cotton tote.
      - tieup bars and lease sticks for the Jane are wood
The rollers where the cords travel on between toggles and harnesses are the same for both looms
      Hope that helps.
