Love love love the giving the Lord the first fruits. We are trying to homestead with Biblical principles as well. And just today, I told the girls we were not going to get the first mulberries of our new tree.
There is just a new spring in your step. You can really tell that you're feeling better. I myself lost a little over 60 pounds on a keto type diet . I told everyone you have to find what works for you, but when it comes down to it your health is the most important thing.
Mike every watermelon has a tale at the stem coming off the vine. when that tale dries up back to the vine the watermelon is ripe. I have been growing watermelon for the last 3 and that is the method I use.
I Really Like How All Of You Help Each Other Out! I Also Liked How You Gave Your First Harvest Away!! Everything Looked So Yummy!!! Hugs To Everyone!!!!
That intro to the garden was amazing! It's wonderful how you incorporate faith into daily life with the family. Things have really picked up and seem so much better on the farm continued blessings keep up the good work family 😊. Oh and Lacie l happened to notice in your face the weight lose just as you mentioned this diet. Looking great and so much more healthy and vibrant
Try only growing 2 corn per stalk. And when they have tassels, take the flower head off completely and brush it on the tassels. Corn is air pollinated. 💪😁
Awesome !! I'm so glad you seek to honor GOD by giving your first fruits !! I hope and pray that GOD blesses you all with even more and better tasting watermelon 🍉😊 !!!
I absolutely LOVE your message of giving the first harvest to God. Thank you for the reminder. I do believe I will now start doing the same. Thank you for taking the time you do to create your videos :o)
The way you know your corn is ready is when the silk starts drying up, but you can't let it sit on the stalk or your corn will start drying up. If your kernels have small dimples in the middle, they have started drying up.
Thank you for showing the dehydration of the cucumbers! I am going to try this! I didn't know there were different colors of beets. Have a blessed day.
Stacey, you look absolutely great..But before you also looked good and beautiful.xx You are really glowing..Love watching you and the family.. Cape Town South Africa
'Giving the first fruit to God! ' Thank you for following God's great principle! I'm sure you will be blessed trumendesly! And thank you for showing your children a wonderful example!
Looks like a wonderful harvest, and preserving. God has blessed you abundantly, may He keep raining blessings on your entire family, flocks & livestock and those fabulous gardens.
Amazing how much you get from all the hard work you put into from the beginning. I'll love to juice the beets and cucumber together with some lime and apples.
Well I was going to tell you how to tell when corn or melons are ready to harvest but others have beet me to it. So I'll just say may God bless your harvest both in the fields and out of it.
I tried corn last year for the first time. I was worried about "knowing" when it would be ready. According to reading up on corn, you wait till the tassles turn brown. Then, supposedly, you press your thumbnail into one kernel to see if it looks like a little milk comes out. Most of my corn was very good. I actually thought that each plant would provide about 6 ears; but I was surprised to see only 2 or sometimes 3 ears on each plant. No wonder you see miles of corn on farms. It would take that much to yield dozens at a time.
Thank you for a great video with all kinds of updates. The watermelon looks fantastic! Can’t wait to see you cut the next one. Very interesting to see the beets fermented. Would enjoy seeing a taste test!
Praise The Lord for the restoration of your health and your families health Laci and the harvest and it’s abundance. I love watching and learning from y’all and I appreciate your giving God the glory and honor and praise and teaching your children and is your viewers as well. Thank you.
It's exciting to see folks harvesting. There is something special about seed ti.e and harvest ! We planted this year knowing someone else would get our harvest with expectation s of our bus being done. Won't be long till we will be rolling . Sojo-( sojourners rest.) Looking like our direction is South eastern who knows where The Father knows tho and thats all we need to know. Peace and abundance to yall
I learned there are a few tricks to watermelon. First is to stop watering them at a certain point. Too much water makes watery tasting watermelon. Second is the curling vine by the stem dries up completely when it is time to pick.
That is a wonderful concept to teach the kids. I know it's a hard one for kids, especially when the fruit looked as good as that one did. But they'll remember these lessons for the rest of their lives. I know you all know this. Just wanted to show my appreciation for how you're raising your youngins.
Not only have you read The Book, but you have remembered the promises and you have seen that the law is not a burden, but an expression of love for the one who has made all things possible. You have chosen to become an example to the willing. YHWH bless you and your family Mike! I'm truly inspired!
Wanted to send out some love.... I’m grateful that you show the bad weeds letting people see it not just us ... it has rained so much mine is same way.. on the corn I would plant it a little thicker maybe 2-3 lines in each hill .. the closer they are to each other the better they pollinate each other and Lacie... I’m so happy for you .. you have worked hard to get to where your at and deserve many hugs and congratulations for that so I’m sending you my love and hugs here💚💚💚💚💚
The most successful watermelons my mother ever got, all us kids and cousins sitting on the porch spitting seeds (contest) right where they had just torn up a brick patio🤣🤷🏼♀️ Huge melons beautiful and sweet 🙏🏻
Watermelon is ready when you see the first curly cue off the watermelon turns brown.. this means it’s not taking on any more water. Just go from where the stem is at the watermelon and find the first curley thing like a cucumber grabber.
Lacey looks great! The garden is doing wonderful, could you explain more about how you offer up the fruits of your labor or direct me to where I can learn more. Thanks
Love giving God your first fruits! Been hearing a lot about the carnivore diet....need to look more into it. We think your garden looks great. We are glad to be seeing you all again at the Homesteading Life Conference. Thanks for sharing. We don't comment much...so wanted to stop by .
I picked my watermelons by the dry tendril, all the way dry and then wait 3 to 4 days. I was picking at the dry tendrils only and they were still green. But the ones I waited 3 or 4 days were better. That was the Sugar Baby kind.
Mike, look for the closest curly tendril to the melon. If it's turning yellow and drying out, your melon, squash or pumpkin is ready. Also, you've gotta shake your kernel during the early stages to help germination. Every silk=a kernal.
Remember Lacy you can't take care of anyone unless you take care of yourself. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. God bless
Love love love the giving the Lord the first fruits. We are trying to homestead with Biblical principles as well. And just today, I told the girls we were not going to get the first mulberries of our new tree.
Love the facial expression of the kiddos. Precious. Simple things in life are the best!
Mike we need a few videos on how you manage the CSA, takes alot of planning and organization i think.

Lacey, YOU LOOK AMAZING ❣
I have fallen way behind on viewing and that was the first thing I noticed, Lacey is looking great.
Cirn is ready when the tassels turn dark brown. Also process it quick. No more than 3 days.
watermelons have a curl at the stem. when it drys up the watermelon should be ready.

Your bounty of beets and cucumbers looks wonderful. Great work, guys. 💖
Thanks Mike and family. I have been keeping my tomatoes tied up and pruned this year. They are doing quite well.
I absolutely LOVE your message of giving the first harvest to God. Thank you for the reminder. I do believe I will now start doing the same. Thank you for taking the time you do to create your videos :o)

Yes when the silks at the tip start turning brown & drying you have 3 days to get it harvested or it will be tough not milky.
I LOVE watching your family videos!
You look great, Lacey! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😇😇😇
a ripe watermelon has a yellow spot where it sits on the ground. nice video!
Good evening Mr. Dickson , wait until the melon stem is drying and turning brown. That is usually a good indicator that it's ready. Enjoy !
Hello from Florida. I love your channel and watching your homestead journey. Best wishes.
Lacey is looking AMAZING!! Stay on the path, it’s all about being disciplined and being committed!
You are God’s people as well, and the children too, and deserve to have first fruits of your labor as well
Love the dedication to First Fruits!

Hello from Illinois. I am a new subscriber! I enjoy you and your family videos!
That’s so beautiful to honor God with the first fruits. I’ve tried to follow that principle this year and I can say God has given me the increase.

How awesome in teaching your children to give the first fruits to the Lord. 👍
Awe!! Mike giving such loving compliments ❤️
Congratulations on losing your weight I am cheering you on.
Looks like a wonderful harvest, and preserving. God has blessed you abundantly, may He keep raining blessings on your entire family, flocks & livestock and those fabulous gardens.
Follow the vine of a watermelon back towards the main root. Find the curlicue by the leaf and if it’s dried up, it’s ripe.
Great work on yourself and diet!! God strengthen you for this task.
Good for you Lacie! Go sister!
Watermelon looks so amazing!!
Something we did is put down cardboard under the watermelon. It prevents weeds and keeps the bottom other watermelon from rotting.
Amazing how much you get from all the hard work you put into from the beginning. I'll love to juice the beets and cucumber together with some lime and apples.
Oh wow Lacie you do look thinner thats so awesome GO GIRL !
Truly the beautiful enlightening path we were always meant to live.
I agree! Lacy you look wonderful!
Well I was going to tell you how to tell when corn or melons are ready to harvest but others have beet me to it. So I'll just say may God bless your harvest both in the fields and out of it.
I believe the corn is ready when the hairs just start to go brown . Great job

instead of a couple of long rows of corn, bunch them together (more and shorter rows). they will pollinate better.
I just love you guys! And giving to the Lord your first fruits just warms my heart!...I can't imagine how it makes Him feel 🥰🙌🙄🙏🙌🙄

I made cucumber chips today too. I dipped them in different salad dressings first.
The most delicious pickels are turnips with one slice of beats garlic chili and salt. My kids eat like apple. Very healthy vegetable.
corn LOVES bloodmeal through out the grow...Maybe once half way through the season...
I learned there are a few tricks to watermelon. First is to stop watering them at a certain point. Too much water makes watery tasting watermelon. Second is the curling vine by the stem dries up completely when it is time to pick.
I know I'm very late with watching your video, but the corn that you have in this video, it's perfect for tomales,

Keep the corn silk for tea. It's good for you.

Thanks for the reminder! I need to order more Redmond ReLyte 😜

Community Service Agriculture. Cool!
The tassel on corn is supposed to be drying to a brown
👍👍 good pickles !
You should get a nice canner autoclave. Could grow mushrooms too!
God is seriously blessing you
Lacey, congrats on feeling better girl! Love the idea of cucumber chips, never had them. How long does it genarally to dehydrate them?
I was wondering the same thing. I'd love to try this.
Love giving God your first fruits!
Been hearing a lot about the carnivore diet....need to look more into it. We think your garden looks great. We are glad to be seeing you all again at the Homesteading Life Conference. Thanks for sharing. We don't comment much...so wanted to stop by .
I grew cannon ball water melons one year they turned out great a couple I picked to early, but I lived and learned .
I picked my watermelons by the dry tendril, all the way dry and then wait 3 to 4 days. I was picking at the dry tendrils only and they were still green. But the ones I waited 3 or 4 days were better. That was the Sugar Baby kind.
OH! Don't waste those corn husk...the goats love them and the husk have loads of nutrients the goats love!
Great video and enjoy learning with you
Watermelons are usually ready when the vine goes brown where it’s attached.
Watermellon is ready when the first tendril closest to it is dry
And then Lacey told you that too , crn is ready when the hair is dry😂
A tendril is the stem?
@@brendah4773 no it is the curly grab on that they grow to climb up on trelisses or up other plants
@@violetraal5383 oh gotcha. Thank you 😊
Mike, look for the closest curly tendril to the melon. If it's turning yellow and drying out, your melon, squash or pumpkin is ready. Also, you've gotta shake your kernel during the early stages to help germination. Every silk=a kernal.
The silks have to be brown and almost dying - those strings hanging on them is what makes the kernels on the corn- each one
Yup each one represents a kernel i believe ,and when you see the change there's about 10 day window
@@guyindesert 3 days sir.
That watermelon looked done to me! Yummmmmay!!
Team work makes the dream work 💪
