Mike I have had great success using raw honey and cinnamon as a natural rooting hormone also. Dip it in the honey and then the cinnamon to cover and then plant. Same being antibacterial and anti fungal. Just a tip for the future!

Yes sabbath year! My land had a sabbath year right before we bought it and the pasture was the greenest with in a couple miles. People kept asking what we fertilized with but we had done nothing. It's really been on my heart to get back to the ancient paths of agriculture husbandry. Yah is calling his people back. 😊

I’m thinking that if you have a few different garden areas, you could put them on a rotation and let them be at rest at opposite years. That way, you would always have at least one that was producing for your family and others that were at rest and/or producing for others. Also, thanks for the aloe tip! (Rosemary is an annual here in the high deserts of Utah.)

You should find yourself a willow tree and cut some branches. Willow water is easy to make and it's great for rooting things.

  • @suehinson1629

Oh I can't wait to see the results. I have used wild willow for a rooting helper. I cut a handful of small branches and put them in a jar of water. After they start growing their roots in the water, I remove them and put in what ever I'm trying to propagate/root. I have done a side by side with just water and the willow water, to find that the willow water caused roots to start sooner and grow faster. The one's in the water did root, but it took much longer and a number of them rotted right after showing their roots. It will be great to add another proven method to the "knowledge bank"! God bless.

I always burn my old dead tomato plants. I heard it's not good to compost them, It was fun to see the kids run back and forth with Libby and Cody. I'm glad you're putting those guards on you tender fruit trees. We had a wild bunny hurt one of our apple tree whips before we learned about those. You have to take them off in the Spring because it can create bark scald. We now just put hard cloth wire cages at the bottom of our fruit trees. I've never seen using aloe for starting plants. Cool! I hope it works! Thanks for this guys.

2 questions I have been longing to find an answer to were finally answered in your video. 1. For a very long time, I've been wondering how to observe the 7th year Sabbath. Is it don't grow anything, or is rotating where you grow the answer? I guess the point isn't how but the why we are to observe a Sabbath.
    2. The second question was how to propagate blueberries without using synthetic rooting hormone. I read something about Apple cider vinegar, but I'll have to try aloe.

I have known of the Sabbath year's rest for the land since I was very young...probably about 6-7 years old. My family always called it the Year of the JUBILEE though. Many of the farmer's near where I grew up in Central Kansas observed The Year of the JUBILEE, probabl.y because there was a small population of FRIENDS CHURCH near us. They are also called Quakers. Any way I was always taught this too. Have a BLESSED DAY!!

We live far from a big town so in the past...we have grown rabbits for meat .when I was younger we went all over the US showing. But now just meat and I use the pelts,.we have had poultry, and eggs for protein. Along with hunting antelope and elk in our area .we also have a beef and pork farmer close .so our gardens have been very large lots of refrigerators and freezers. And yes I can and freeze .order flour and such in bulk .we keep stalked up year round .we were snowed in for awhile this last few weeks so having things here to fall back on is a must .when we get storms here we sometimes have now electricity..with a wood stove and a gas range you can cook and keep warm.

You can root roses and other hard-stemmed plants by cutting an unpeeled banana in half and sticking the stem in it and putting the whole thing in the pot of soil. It would probably work with any small, barked branches. Another natural rooting hormone.

    • @tubularguynine

@@heatherk8931 - Yes, also with potatoes, you just have to take a smaller drill bit than the plant stem is in size to drill a small hole in the potato to keep from skinning the bark off of your cutting… The bananas work best because they’re soft. I do air layering too…lots of videos on that.

Bro and sis, you're opening a huge, humongous gate of regeneration of health with the word "rooting or growing hormones" that, at least in me, am starting to juice some with skin and adding them to my juice!
You'll be curing some of so much!
I've being able to heal a small burn of about 1" x 3/4" in a week by just placing the nice of the meat. But the mentioning of growing hormones, will be getting back at you with some thank you, for mentioning them and thank you for the healing!
Take care, and don't stop farming!
Love your control! Is key, that way in this case, you and we confirm the effectiveness of using natural growing hormones and aloe vera and probably cacti, are king on growing hormones because they barely need water yet, they grow healthy, aloe is watery inside, in celular walls, cacti not as much but the grow almost unattended!
    Thank you!

I have a white mulberry tree & would really like to propagate a few more. (White mulberries are sweeter than the dark ones) I'm eager to try your aloe vera rooting method!! Thank you!!

Oh, love the propagation idea with aloe. I tried Rosemary too, will look forward to your results. It's great you had tomatoes for that long, but what is fermented tomato juice for? (I will look it up) Thanks for sharing a part of your world with us.

Hey there … wow I think Micah has grown a foot since the last video I saw him in!! What in the world are y’all feeding those kids grow pep? Lol. I never knew about aloe Vera for rooting and propagation! I’m going to give this a try on some things I want to root … so exciting to experiment 👏👏. We had a couple days of hard freezes here in North Florida and I lost some seed starts on my tomatoes but I and starting more and I think the last freeze date will be next week so I’m so looking forward to the warmer spring weather not to mention the high days coming up soon 😊😎👍🏻
