Mike everytime I mow my yard I put the grass clipping in to my chickens I've seen a big difference in the soil quilty in my chicken pen it's a black soil now and a lot easier for them to take dirt baths and hunting worms .

Mike you will never go wrong following the Bible. God set those things up for our good and I think they still apply today.
I enjoy your videos and I especially love when you all work together. You and Laci have done such a wonderful job with your kids. They are well mannered and Selah always answers with a smile I think Josiiah is getting a little more comfortable with the camera. I love seeing them help. I have been a bus driver for 20 years and I can tell the ones that help at home and the ones that don't quickly.
Keep up the good work and God bless you all.

Born to be homesteaders. You both have grown so much as farmers over the years. It is hard to believe you knew nothing about homesteading back then and just a city boy and girl in love. Congratulations on all your accomplishments. Lacy to is an inspiration to many women who choose this lifestyle regarding bringing up a healthy family and keeping everyone well with her natural herb remedies. It is so wonderful when you grow your own food and produce your own meat and eggs that you really know what you are eating. Your animals are o well taken care of and your children are very wise regarding self sufficiency thanks to Mom and Dad. Lacy really impresses me when she uses heavy machinery like the fork lift and other large equipment. You two are the real deal and we are so grateful you share your lifestyle with us viewers. By the way I just tried a new vegetable this week. It is called potato squash. It tastes like mash potatoes ... It really does. All you do is remove the seeds and brush olive oil and sprinkle salt and pepper on the flesh and then put it flesh down on parchment paper on a metal tray and bake for 1 hour approx. at 350 degrees. When baked you can eat as is or add a little Ranch cream salad dressing on it and stir it up and then you have instant mash potatoes with less carbs. They are white and acorn shaped with some brown spots on skin. You may already grow them but I thought I would share in case you did not grow them. Lots of recipes on the Internet. God Bless Always!

I’ve put mine on pasture. The ground dries out quickly, so I am using a drill to pre-drill holes for the fence. Works great! I love premier1 and the ChickShaw! Love you guys and I am so grateful you are an outspoken, godly family. Thank you! Much love and God bless!

Great idea. We love premiere one fencing, but our ground is super dry and hard right now. Getting fencing OUT is difficult enough, there's no way it's going IN without some substantial watering and/or drilling first!

Premier 1 is the best! They are really helpful if you have a question, too. You can just call them up, and everyone is super patient, and really knows their stuff. I tend to use a bunch of shorter fence sections rather than long ones, but my place is more brushy than yours. 50' is a good length, and it's easy to move and not get all hung up on every little thing. I've used net for pigs, poultry, goats, and even cattle, in a pinch. And that energizer is a huge improvement from the previous model, with the ability to plug it in to charge. Really nice for you to show folks the setting up from the very beginning. Watching your videos is like hanging out with a neighbor.

I noticed you did the same thing I did the first time I used the Intellishock energizer. There are actually two holes in the bolts that hold the hot and ground wires in place while you tighten the red and black nuts back into place. This holds the wires much more securely. Keep up the good work!

The web is very complex (much more so than a simple circle), but the better we understand & work within that web, and within God's plan, the more productive our efforts will be.

Mike, adding sand to your clay soil will break it up and prevent compaction. Loam is the most sought after soil type. It's composition is 70 percent sand to 30 percent clay. Working in 4 to 6 inches of sand in your beds will go a long way towards breaking up your clay.
