- I've been doing a lot of firsts lately, so why not do a crypto mining cpu build! I am very new at these types of rigs, so I am not the most knowledgeable. Good job. First builds can be intimidating. Then you find out there’s not much to it. A good practice is to update your bios for every build. It should be done before anything else for multiple reasons.
Very true! Just things like bent pins or too much / little thermal paste made me nervous! Ah, good to know! I'll make sure to do that! Thank you for sharing!!
For example. I was putting a 5800 in a msi b550 carbon for a salad rig. Had to update the bios before it would support the 5800. Older mobo vs newer cpu. Bent pins will always make you nervous. If it breaks it’s toast. Thermal paste think of it like this. Too much is just makes a mess and too little just makes it run a little warmer. Don’t overthink it. 👍
