  • This video shows how to install 12V Dimmer Switches to 12V puck lights with a switch for interior Van or boat Lighting.
IMPORTANT: There are tons of different 12v dimmers on the market. Please follow the wiring diagram that comes with whatever dimmer you choose. The concepts will be similar, but not necessarily identical to what is shown in this video. The tools and equipment I have used throughout are listed below

Hi David...hoping you can help. I watched your video - very helpful! I see how you wired the panel and one dimmer switch. I have TWO dimmer switches like yours. Can you please tell me how I'd wire two of them to operate puck lights from two locations? Thanks so much!

Hi Felecia, these two videos might be able to help. The first one is from the UK, ruclips.net/video/1pByUGbZsLU/видео.html and the second is from the US ruclips.net/video/WRQuVMFlric/видео.html Let me know how you get on. I'll do some further research, but it would be nice to know the dimmer switch you are using. Best wishes David

Hello, I'm connecting a dimmer in my campervan and this may sound like a silly ? but where do i put the ground? PS: I have puck lights and had a dimmer that failed and for life of me can't remember how I did it. Thank you.

Hi, I connected all of my grounds to a buzz bar, here is a link showing what they look like amzn.to/3N7RSg7 You can either run a black cable ack to the battery or find a bolt it to the van body. If you bolt to the body make sure you have removed some paint so bare metal is touching bare metal. Because you main battery is earthed to the van body, the connection you make to the body will eventually go back to the battery.
The dimmer question is a little more difficult, but seems to be a common problem so I'll make a video on possible faults and why they may not work. This may take a little while as I am working on the engine at the moment trying to get it ready for a MOT. Thank you for the questions, David
