not the first time they've been caught out like this.
There was a scam a few years ago (not the company itself though) where 2 high ranking managers had been changing labels on parcels, and also changing the details on the computer system to hide that, in order to send them to their mates houses.
Then there was the time the company got fined and forced to put in some common sense safety stuff after a guy got his hand caught in a coveyor belt and almost lost 2 fingers.

If it's parcel delivery I very much doubt there are any packages that have no sender information on them. At least no packages that haven't been damaged.
And even parcels that are shipped as 'unmarked' or 'in discrete packaging' are just being sent from an obfuscated company name. When I order hemp seed, it comes in a plain white packaging with a return address that lists a shipping company that coincidentally shares initials with the seedbank. But it's from a different town and there's no obvious connection between the two in public CDC records for example.

"something to celebrate there"? No there isn't, nothing was solved beyond maybe 10 people getting their packages and a couple businesses getting refunds. This problem goes so much further.
The company should be criminally investigated, personal information sold on the side of packages falsely claimed to be lost or undeliverable, they are stealing packages and selling them on to people that may or may not know they are handling stolen goods, each branch of possibility creating its own further issues.
It's great that it's being brought to light but tell me it doesn't just end here. If anything the bad actors in the company now know to check that they remove those details that make this an easy case to prosecute, even if for nothing more than criminal negligence. It would open the door to investigation and further action.

Pieces to trigger that sort of thing.
Also this particular crime in the US is a much much bigger deal.
The moment you do it through the mail it's a federal crime. Federal prisons are less crowded, don't have to be part of a balanced budget like a state does and the laws because of that tend to be much less forgiving with more mandatory minimums of a decade or more.

Not to mention that Hermes just generally acts shady as all hell, saying they’re going to do something about it when we know they won’t and to date haven’t. Just FYI if you didnt know about Hermes the Greek mythological figure:
"He is also the patron and protector of travelers, herdsmen, *thieves* , orators and wit, literature and poets, athletics and sports, invention and trade. In some myths *Hermes is also depicted as a trickster where he would outwit the gods* ... ... *for his own personal amusement and satisfaction* "
So really, maybe you guys have your standards set too high?

Last Sunday I was due to have a delivery from Hermes. The tracking link said it was out for delivery but then when it was due to arrive I got a message to stay there was "a problem with the address." And to contact them with any instructions that might help. No idea why given I live in a normal house on a normal street but okay? I tried to contact them, no way of actually speaking to someone. I sent them an email to try to sort it out and just got a standard reply of "contact the retailer" completely ignoring that they'd said to contact them.
They next day I got a message saying it was out for delivery at 10:20... And then another saying it was out for delivery at 18:41 the same day. Alas, it did not arrive.
Two days later I had another delivery from Hermes from another company. I asked the driver if he had any idea what was happening. He had it in his van, my name and address on it, perfectly good condition, but had for some reason been flagged as undeliverable.
Thankfully the driver was lovely and very apologetic but honestly, I still don't understand how there was an issue with my address!

Hermes lost my parcel recently so I suggested they have probably sent it to auction. Here's their response:
"Parcel's go through many handling points whilst travelling through our network. This can sometimes mean the parcel can be misplaced onto the wrong conveyor belt, get stuck on the conveyor belt, it can fall off the conveyor belt and get lost along the way for example. This means the parcel gets left there, hence why we conduct a depot search for the parcels if they do not have any movement for a few days. I can assure you no parcels are sent off to an auction."

On the next working day I drove to this village to two different hermes stores just to learn that in that area was a proper hermes facility. I went there and didn't saw any "hermes" sign. The guy called the truck driver who would have picked up my package from a store (because it was already long enough in the store) that will collect it. So I drove to the hermes store next to my home and arrived 5 minutes before closing hour. I was so furious, at least the lady in the store was very compassionate. That all because they didn't put a letter in my letterbox.

"Every time the item goes to auction house due to failure to deliver, Hermes claims they lose money"... I'm sure they don't I'm sure they have an inside angle there too. Also how could they possibly lose money? Do they not auction off the item to recoup proceeds in order to pay the customer a return on their lost item? And this lost item they only get a 25% return on. So who keeps the other 70ish% after auction fees? Please don't tell me its not Hermes, that's the entire scam right? They can funnel the money over to shell corporations or individuals overseas and also do so "tax free"!!! Of course scammers aren't going to tell the truth about their scam. This feels like Hermes strategy. Great work on exposing this dishonesty. Trust in Hermes has gone.

These kinds of companies should have class action lawsuits brought against them left and right. Their C-level executive teams should also have personal lawsuits filed against them.
Totally Self Serving and Corrupt behavior (aka NARCISSISM) has totally infiltrated our society and its time to take control back and reverse it.

Someone needs to look at this again! As a recipient they've lost 3 of my parcels shipped from 3 different companies, all within a month.

I remember one time sending a handheld console through a UK courier, it got to the depot and was "lost" and was told tough and since it shows as in depot it "might" be delivered so I couldn't claim compensation What made matters worse was the buyer was rude to me and demanded the next day after it was sent where it was, called me a scammer despite having tracking proving it was sent then opened a Paypal dispute which they won then sent me agressive messages calling me a scammer and leaving me voicemail threats! Anyway on the subject of Hermes I have a friend who does seasonal work with them and the bosses treat staff like dirt, he tells me literally 5 minutes before end of shift he gets shouted at by his boss for not doing work, he says most staff come in high on weed, and staff just kick and chuck boxes about as they don't care and he was underpaid for 3 months as they messed up his tax then his boss was rude at him and said it was my friends fault his tax was wrong.

It would be interesting to know when this was filmed I am guessing some time in 2019. As I work just round the corner from the auction house shown here and those Hermes lorries have not stopped. Their is still 2 - 3 a week and they have multiple auctions and create such a mess it's crazy

I THINK YOU ARE AMAZING, JOE LYCETT!! But as Sabrina H says, someone needs to prosecute!! - in this instance, UberEats, Airbnb ... not hire a PR company to write a BS note!!

Hermes is now known as Evri, and recently I've had a few paintings that I sent with them go missing. One of them I found out was sold at an auction house.
