Honestly, a place that make / serve food should have on lowest 4 stars hygiene.
The hygiene rating doesn’t necessarily mean it’s disgusting tho I used to be a manager at a coffee shop and we got 4 stars, we lost the star due to someone using a front of house sink which was only for washing hands

I my self worked in a restaurant for some months and you can get a star downgrade or A To B DOWNGRADE. For simply wearing outside clothes in the kitchen.
But when you have 2 or less stars you can’t be taken seriously.
4 star is minimum
When you get 3 stars you get a time limit to clean up.
Fix up.
And a new evaluation.
To get a 4 or higher.
Most kebab shops here in my country is 4-5 star hygienic.
Yeah I only eat at 5s or 4s, as some places can't get a 5 if the building they're in is old (e.g. some national trust cafes). If the building was specifically built to serve food in, then there's really no excuse for it not to be a 5.

@@bjam89 I didn't check all of them because I got bored, but UberEats now shows the food hygiene ratings clearly. Just takes 2 clicks to get to it. Lowest food rating I saw was 2 with most being 5, some 4, didn't seen any 3s and very few 2s.
Interestingly, there was one eatery that didn't have a hygiene rating showing. Not sure what that was about.

It's businesses' screwing up and caring only about short-term profits instead of the effect on people/the environment that are the reasons government regs and oversight bodies exist. I’m genuinely excited and grateful that you used your platform to affect real change. UberEats could actually kill someone just based on the trust that the general public have in their company to deliver safe food. Congratulations on the win.

I watched this episode three years ago when it first came out. I am disabled and so are all of my family and friends, including my mom who is immunosuppressed and has tons of food allergies and sensitivities.
I immediately told my mom we should stop using UberEats because the food quality could be poor, which could make her extremely sick. And I sent this episode to my friends.
The company doesn't have to change. But disabled consumers can spread the news by word-of-mouth to protect each other.
And disabled people are at least 20% of the global population, and those estimates were calculated before COVID (and associated long COVID, which is disabling).
The change is in consumer choice, not the company.
I think this guy is my new favourite comedian, he’s coming up with some really top stuff lately.
It’s because he takes the ideas from other people, this was done before but with deliveroo and trip advisor instead of Uber eats

My first job was making pizzas, at an Italian restaurant. I’ve always been told that restaurants have roaches and mice, and there’s very little that they can do about it. Supposedly, it’s just an unfortunate fact of owning a restaurant. However, in the two years that I worked there, I never even saw an ant. They were insane about hygiene and it showed. If orders slowed down and there wasn’t any food to prepare, you were sweeping, mopping and cleaning. It CAN be done, but some places don’t want to put the extra effort in. Honestly, it wasn’t even that difficult. Just keep the place clean, and you won’t have insects and mice. Accepting that you’ll have these problems, without trying to prevent them or get rid of them, is simply ridiculous and lazy.

Well... News for you. They lied. I ordered from a restraunt yesterday, and there was all hair in the chicken batter and the rest of the order. Saw this video, thought I'll check there food standards they haven't even got one! So alot of nonsense for "they need 2" this restraunt hasnt even been checked by the food standards.
And ontop of that ubereats won't refund my order even though it's completely unsanitary and inedible. 🤮

This is an issue for the restuarant. Uber only deliveres the food. It is sealed when they pick it up they are not liable for what's in the bag

This video states they need at 2 stars or w.e to be allowed to run on the UberEats app, oh and they done nothing about it and the restaurant is still selling there food via there app (:

Clearly you've not watched this video properly, and clearly pubic hair is fine to be in the foods you eat, I'm not blaming it on the delivery guy or ubereats for doing it, but ubereats obviously are allowing unsanitary resturaunts sell things on there very popular app. So yes it is partly ubereats fault as they've been told and still allow places which haven't been inspected by food standards to continue to be able to do this, and also dont do anything about it when there's actual proof of the situation happening with one of the restaurants they allow to use there app.

In Canada, an audit of a 0 score at a restaurant would have their doors closed by force until the issue is resolved within a time period given, if they fail to do so, the restaurant is closed and their license is revoked.
Hilarious - obviously they should be doing prior checks, but also I can imagine them showing this as a training video for new drivers. "If you turn up to collect the food, and it's from a skip, give the office a call."

Simple Jack My only issue with that is that it’ll price out the smaller restaurants on the high streets for big chains and also got to remember people (with kids and families to support) make mistakes
Also want to point out restaurants can get points deducted just because of the building their in, older buildings always score worse because they’re ‘dangerous’

From what I understand, they now list the restaurant's current rating on UberEats in UK and people can't find one under 2.
This is brilliant, how can you not love when companies get a taste of their own medicine? The only issue I have is it would nice to see Joe make a bit more of a stand in person when the authorities or security arrive, but he's probably not about to get arrested so maybe for the best.

Last time I ordered an Uber Eats, they cancelled the order while the tracker showed the driver half way to my house. I called the restaurant and they said it hadn't been picked up. Had to go get it myself. Got a half assed apology from Uber Eats but nothing for the inconvenience - deleted the app, they are absolute shit.

I will commend the Uber delivery man, imagen picking up the food form a skip, like yes the business should not do that, but at least the employee dose its job.

Employees within a company should be encouraged to speak up if something is obviously wrong or dangerous, and not just go with the flow.
DO NOT use uber eats, its so full of issues, unless you live in london then you risk ordering, then no one picking it up for an hour or never.. happened a few times to me lol, order and keep seeing it be delayed for ages, cant cancel cause they made the food, but no one picks it up, one time i finally got cash back, 2nd time they picked it up after about 50 mins then took another 30 or so to deliver, stone cold. All they need to do is make the system better, DONT cook shit till someone confirms they will collect it etc.
If nobody is picking up your order on time, it's because you didn't tip enough.
