    I'm enjoying your videos. Really appeals to the common fisherman. Simple rigs, rods and reels. No complicated traces, methods and ridiculously expensive tackle. Just simple fishing. Loving it!

      Yes, not everyone can afford expensive equipment. My rods and reelsare still old school. Had them now for many years.

    Great content and well presented. Thanks for bringing the scenic KZN South Coast to everyone. Would be great to see you target other species as well.

    • @TrueNorthFishing
      @TrueNorthFishing  3 года назад

      That is huge, The South African record is 22 pounds, 10.2 kg as far as I know

      @@TrueNorthFishing they havent been like that here in a long while sadly. i think that 30lb record was caught in the 70s. nowadays bluefish or as you know them shad in the US will run 15lbs maybe if you're really fortunate will tag the 20lb mark in the northeast portion of the country.

    Trim off the tail, from experience, you'll get a faster hook up

    For legal length purposes shad must be measured as full length from tip of the mouth to the tip of the tail, not where you measured it at forklength, forklength is measured for length to weight calculations.
    Reason for my comment is because u kept on mentioning legal size.
    But you didn't use the correct method.

    • @TrueNorthFishing
      @TrueNorthFishing  3 года назад +1

      That is correct, it is measured in over-all length. I will correct that in the next video. Thank you for correcting the issue.
