    Thanks a bunch BBC Earth Lab! This is a pretty good and instructional channel for us like learning English at home. I love the way this charming girl presented and that scientist's attempts to explain and his sincere smile.

      Bro., learning English is the only function of this video😂 Because they are talking about unrealistic theory... Like I could say: Aliens live in black hole, by the way my theory is more correct than the wormhole theory😂

    So you can come back? But the question is, what lurks beyond it?

    Couldn't you spin up the wormhole to prevent collapse (much like spinning a lasso keeps the loop open and round)?

    • @absobel
      @absobel 2 года назад +1

      This is a good question, I'm curious too
      But I think it wouldn't work because you would have to spin the black hole faster than the speed of light to counter the gravitational force that can trap light

    • @durza7173
      @durza7173 2 года назад

      No, because the wormhole is made of space time curvature and the only ways we know of that exist to affect space time involve attraction.

    So in short, wormholes exist if magic exist? You know, to get around the problems of negative matter can't exist. The radiation in such a thing would kill you in seconds. Humans having real problems with more then 9 G or so. etc etc.
    Remember, Just because you can put a negative sign in front of a number doesn't make it real. In fact, look up what would happen to the universe if negative gravity/mass actually existed.

    • @zachcrawford5
      @zachcrawford5 2 года назад

      Negative matter would be repelled by normal gravity. If it "collides" with normal matter the masses would cancel out but only for the instant that they are in the same place then they would continue on their own vectors (much like how the trough of one wave passing through the crest of another cancels out but then reemerges on the other side and continues on its way).

    • @Bodyknock
      @Bodyknock 2 года назад

      Well technically there are some conjectures where the Big Bang is actually a pivot point between two universes, ours with positive mass and the other with negative mass, and the two interact only through gravity. In that scenario negative mass can help explain dark energy and cosmic inflation. Mind you, it’s definitely NOT a major theory and probably not even correct, but it’s not a pseudo-scientific idea either. That said, even if there is a parallel negative mass universe to our own, the fact that we’d have literally no way to interact with it directly other than gravity pretty much quashes any notion that we could possibly get enough negative mass in one place to form a reasonably sized wormhole, let alone one “the diameter of the Earth” like is described in this video.

    • @lucidmoses
      @lucidmoses 2 года назад

      @@Bodyknock Yes, I'm perfectly ok with negative mass existing in other universes. Can't say I'm on board with the whole multiverse thing just yet but hey, It's possible I guess.
      Even comfortable with black holes connecting to other universes with negative mass. Since we don't know what happens in a black hole it is Technically possible that matter gets crushed down to the point that it looses it's positive-ness. Making it possible to interact with a negative mass universe that did the same thing. Again, not on board with this idea. Just figure it's still not ruled out. So.... Possible????

    Maybe I'm not much aware of wormholes. But it feels like a religious belief. They believe in a God just because they want to. Is believing in wormholes also like that? Or is there any type of proof

    • @tyrannosaurusflex3698
      @tyrannosaurusflex3698 2 года назад

      Wormholes are science. Science opposes God.

    • @alwaysdisputin9930
      @alwaysdisputin9930 2 года назад

      I don't think there is such a thing as "types of proof"? Something is proven or it isn't = it's binary. Wormholes aren't proven to exist. However there *is* evidence they exist in that the maths suggest they do just like it suggested black holes exist. eigencris videos goes into the maths of it but it's supercomplicated & hard to study

    • @durza7173
      @durza7173 2 года назад

      Wormholes are something that is technically not forbidden by the laws of physics and may exist on Planck scale levels, but there is no evidence that they actually come to exist in our universe.
