I have really enjoyed this duology, but I think it was mismarketed as a High Fantasy whereas it is a Historical Epic and needs much chat!

I did read she who became the sun and I was caught up in the mismarketing for it as it read a lot more historical than I expected and I'm just not much of a historical reader anymore these days and need the other genre, if the book is genre mixing, to be the more dominant storyline element. I did like it but it was a middle of the road read for me and I decided to not continue the series. But I'm so glad you loved it!

I have he who drowned the world, haven’t found a copy of she who became the sun yet…so, so far only on my list of books to get to.
I don’t think I’ve even heard people talk about book 2. Book 1 had a bit of a hey day just when it came out but then it kind of died down. Sad times.

Exactly- which is why I think the market got it wrong, it's Epic but not fantastical.
