The 1911 handgun is about the only other equivalent to the Tank that I can think of. It debuted prior to WW1 and is still made with new iterations that are loved by enthusiasts of that field today.
Thank you for the wonderful and informative review! It was a pleasure to watch, as well as your enthusiasm carries across the screen and puts a smile on ones face.
After having the steel bracelet since December...I am also purchasing a Strap with deployment (in Alligator). I did not care for the grain on the Calf skin that came standard with the Must XL. Since the watch has a quick change feature I decided to start with the steel and order the skin I preferred later. Have loved the watch hope you enjoy yours.
Also note I understand if you purchase from a Boutique you get 4 extra links for the bracelet. If you buy from an AD you do not...my AD wants $75.00 ea for a link.

I really like the sharp, flat lines of the Solo, is stunning in its simplicity. It appears thinner/flatter than the Must but is hard to tell. I like the bracelet style but the leather band is beautifully understated. Great review.
The Tank Must large has the same size and shape as the Tank Louis. That makes it very attractive. As for the XL: not too large for a watch, but for a Tank. They did make large watches already in the 1920s, but there always curved to follow the wrist.
The Tank Must XL is way too large in my opionion, at that size I'd go for a Santos Dumont. The Tank Must Large has a much more classical look but still large enough to have an great presence on an average wrist size.
I have an 8” wrist. This works perfectly for me,…and I get an automatic movement, the beautiful second hand and the date complication. Value? Off the charts.
Both are excellent choices! Feel free to browse our collection of Tank Must and Tank Solo watches on our website www.swisswatchexpo.com to help you choose. 🙂

I now prefer my rectangular watch than my dream cartier which only give time. My Rectangular Huawei gives: 1. SP02 info 2. Month/Day/date/time 3. Heart monitor 4. Weather/temperature 5. Notification 6. Timer 7. Flashlight 8. Etc
Not a fan of any Cartier that has a date window and loses the VI Roman numerals at 6 o'clock. Totally spoils the balance and style of the dial and once seen can't be unseen.😫5:35 clearly shows the difference.

The very same thought popped into my mind.
Love the 1911! My favorite all metal pistol.
Picked mine up last week from the Cartier Mansion. Absolutely love it. Great review.
You have good taste! Thank you for your feedback. 🙂

Thank you!
Thorough presentation, torn between the black leather strap or stainless steel. Definitely getting it for my collection.

Right on!
Love my Solo and got it specifically because of the, flat edges
Love it!
Thank you for such a great review!

XL Date is not aligned properly, i m afraid. Tks for the vid, man.
Glad you liked it!
I still can’t decide which one to get as an entry level watch. Tank must leather or tank solo?

I wonder how durable the leather strap is? How often should it be replaced? And how much does it cost to replace it?

Well, not 100 years jet but close to: The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso from 1931!
Does the metal on the Tank Must scratch easily?

Cartier must tank in rose gold manual wound, that is my goal!
Love it!
Take the XL and drop the size to a large. There is a huge gap in their SS Tank line with no automatic movement for the size Large.
Great insight! Thanks for sharing.
Exactly... I'd love to have my large Tank Solo with automatic or manual movement.

Cartier is not about practicality but about sophistication 😉
Cartier tank is one of the best watches of all time.
If only the made this in a size large. XL is just a little too large for the average size wrist imo.
Good point, thanks for sharing!

XL is a bit small if anything

Cartier Tank Normale WGTA0111
Nice one!
Date window on the XL model changes this watch from a design classic to a high street disposable. Who ever designed this should be fired.
