One thing you could have done is rob the pin from the thumb and zip tie or something the thumb piston up and kept going. Now you know to check all the pin bolts every so often while you're greasing it.
i love how you respect the capabilities of the obs like a responsible person, us 90s dodge boys just load em down with all we can and roll on. I can’t tell you how many times i have been well over what that pickup is rated for and it handled it just fine
I think I'd add lights and a camera to the top of the hydraulic cylinder. Be able to dump behind the wheel when you get the remote and see the load as you pull forward.

Ryno, I know it may not be " cost effective " to haul the dirt in those situations, but hey it helps us with more content because that's something we all love to watch, it helps the customer not deal with a headache, and then theres extra fill dirt as well. I love towing videos , wish the 6.0 sounded a bit better, but I'm sure that'll get replaced sooner then later !

They are worth it if you are using it to make money, that’s how I look at it when I go to purchase a piece of equipment. I just bought a gooseneck dump trailer for my lawn care/ landscape business and it’s made money from day one
I bought a smooth larger bucket for my mini ex to get dirt it's a game changer when we can't afford a skid steer right now
The prodigy p3 is the ticket. I love mine! That's a bad ass trailer! I have a 12 ft 15k towmaster HD that I have never not been able to dump and its a scissor lift. Even dunped mud once lol. I got it used for 4300 about 5 years ago.
That's some pretty good planning to have the dirt end up at a different job that was nearby. 👍

Pin is on the road somewhere. It was in the cylinder when you had it in the trailer at the ranch doing a walk around of the trailer.

Ryno. Look into the diamond c dump trailer with the sides that fold down. I was tired of multiple trailers then came across the max d with folding sides. Game changer. But diamond c has one that’s bad ass

My load trail dump trailer has a hydraulic realease on the pump to let gravity take the dump box down on its own. Check yours, maybe it has it also! It's a small knob you have to turn counter clockwise on the top of the hydraulic pump. You have to turn it back clockwise afterwards or it won't build the pressure to lift the box. It saves time and battery life!

I don’t know what size bucket you have but if you got a 24” you would love it. Or a 36” grading bucket would be nice too for some bigger scoops. Just a thought. 😎

This is my first spring-fall owning a house and i had about 8 different projects i did i always thought wish i had a dump trailer.
Then i say to myself i dont need one i dont have anymore projects then a week layer i find a project and the pattern repeats without a dump trailer
I only need a small one not even a 10,000lb gvwr one
When you decide to get a stand on mini skid steer you should go with the ditch witch 1550 or 1050...

You should get a old body style 6.7 mason dump and do a small build on it to haul the mini and get rid of the 6.0
I would love to see your opinion on a Texas prides dump trailer! I’ve been looking at one and have heard they are built really well and they’re not terribly priced.
I think you need to just go get a 450 and be done with it. It doesn't have to be the top of the line or fancy. You can get a nice XLT and still make it look good.

The only dump trailer I bought had 2 roll offs 4 foot sides 8x16 2 7500 lb axles and was a utility deck underneath for 26k
Should have bought a 16’ and the pin would have fallen in the trailer. Lol. Love my 16’ diamond c gooseneck!! 100% recommend!!!!!!

If you put that trailer behind a 450 550, you need a cdl. That's the only problem with those trucks. Unless you have a cdl and or cdl driver on payroll then no problem.

@timothymckern8956 the trailer is at least a 14k gvw if not 16k . F450 is 14k plus gvw 14+14=28k combined gvw = clas a cdl.

Gentry and Sons on youtube had one of his workers damage his 2021 Ram because it rolled down hill while unloading the trailer. I took out fence post, got all scratched up

Isn’t there any dump sites that take dirt? I hate doing that most of the time but like you said sometimes the yard is just too far away and it’s cheaper to pay dump fees then do all the driving.
Not in CA lol dumping that trailer full of dirt is probably like $300
Dirt can get very pricey and CHP likes to sit at the dump entrance looking for people that may be a tad overloaded.

Use helical piers instead of concrete bro way cheaper and less of a hassle.. that way you won’t have to excavate or do concrete.. I know cause that’s what I do for a living out here in Utah. We do decks and foundations
