It's a cool tech but like everyone else said we all know how disgusting and unskilled quickstep is since ds3
@@felipdn3329 I think QS was nerfed from DS3, at least that's how it felt when I was using it some months ago.
@@felipdn3329 Quickstep is not that good, even without comparing it to the vastly superior BHS.
@Artorias ER QStep far more powerful because not only they can be used by any weapon also little bit quicker than ds3

The mad mans actually turned "nothing personal kid" in to a skill
the advantage of using reverse quickstep over reverse bloodhound step is that often your opponent will be initiating an attack close enough to you that reverse BHS will overshoot and put you to far behind them to get the grab. in this clip, the guy was using moonveil, so they obviously had an incentive to initiate an attack at a range that can be caught with reverse BHS, but with something like dual ss L1, halberd running R1 or HTS running R2, quickstep will give you the distance you need to arrive at their back and BHS can often overshoot the target.
You can practice using the Watch dog staff ( ash of war) then step forward or back ( it'll release the tracking gems) if you step forward..then a quick Jump
backward..Then watch ur enemy's moves being telegraph...Once they're locked into ANIMATION or some sort of commitment....
You can easily WACK or a RUNNING WACK...dont get greedy and roll out.
then press ash of war again....
It's take practice and patient to play COUNTER strike style.
You can do the same with Faith in the left hand and melina blade in the right.
cast..quick lighting spear or ice lighting spear or even a screen ( black mist)
Those spells arnt really ment to do harm..it's just to keep ur enemies distracted
and to get proper SPACING. Melina Blade is more effective as a counter strike..
If you press ash of war button twice..you'll be lock into 2-ea animation
the second animation ..you'll mostly be on the back side of your enemies.
reverse qs isnt very useful when you can qs sideways for the same outcome, the only time that could be an exception is if you turn and burn reverse qs someone that is heavily chasing you, as qs sideways is harder to do when youre going backward
@@Jeenine sort of ..it just takes practice ..no matter if I use short or hound step...via a whip or dagger. ER controller lay out make it CLUNKY
becuase your constantly micro managing simple things.
In A.C. odeyssy...you can a sort of slide forward/side ways ( on top of rolling/jump...Nothing to swap) it'll look as if you roller bladding or ice skating..You just have to bump/hold the direction button..Whip out your BOW or sword/dagger/spear....WITHOUT swapping.
In D.D. ( on top of regular rolling/jumping AND soft/ hard strike)
You have 3-ea OPTION for skills/ or ash of war...WITHOUT swapping
You can do scralott kiss .( alot of slicing and kick)
slam blade into the ground....in a nutshell a jump or ground stomp.
or.....a fast forward run..and slice through your enemy...
It will put you on the BACK SIDE..You can easily whip out a Magic bow
with 3-ea options types of magic arrow/spells.
It happens FAST
If you're used to doing that....ER or DS controls are CLUNKY.
It is what it is. All games controller layout are different

This move goes hard with double greatswords, I use claymore and flamberge and its fun as hell to slide along the floor into a dual running poke
FYI they added this option with patch 1.06, before it was impossible to riposte/backstab immediately after a BHS, you would always get a rolling attack unless you wait/block. And this is still the case with rolling (try rolling and BHS into a staggered boss if you want to test this, the roll will always give you a roll attack and the BHS will most of the time depending on positioning snap you into a riposte)
I think the backstab animation for the weapon makes a big difference on how easy it is to land. Weapons like great curved swords that do the double smack are much easier to land then the weapons that do the stab threw animation. The double smack seems to lock your opponent in place when the conditions are met and the stab through needs your animation to land. Never get a missed backstab animation with the double smack weapons either.
The evolution of a reverse backstab from ds 3, thanks against shieldpokes its can be a useful tec. I need to practice that tho
That’s been around since Demon’s Souls. Although it was harder to pull off in Demon’s and DS1 with the lag stabs dragging you from Sen’s Fortress back to Darkroot

Hi JeeNine, do you think that maybe when you get behind the opponent locking again would help having more consistent backstabs?
Not G9, but I've been playing around with this for a few weeks and no it doesn't matter(since you have to cancel the quickstep and this only works on perfect positioning/timing) though I would advise learning to lock on immediatly after the quickstep because it will help the tracking on the backstep attack in case you failed the backstab attempt.

Good take, that’s been known very early on, it’s not a sign of skill despite being spectacular and fun, because it’s not reliable and it’s very situational. It will make awesome montages
Elden Bling and flashy plays are the true endgame. Not tryharding. That's just my opinion though which is worth nothing.

backstabs work when the other guy is in recovery frames

@@grayrim the only time you’re gonna get a bs when the person is in non recovery frames is when they’re standing still so i don’t know what the point was in you saying that
You can backstab people in start-up frames, too - not only recovery. And while the OP came off a bit rude, he wasn't asking a question regarding gamestate and backstabs, the question was regarding the size of the crit window in terms of hitboxes. I suspect it's dependent on weapon type, angle, etc but I honestly don't know, either. Should be easy enough to test.

Bhs at this point is fair. It loses frames after so many steps, only the first one is that busted and the tech is just tech
You nerf it again and you might as well remove it from the game. It's already almost useless
