It was when I was a kid and happened to see her playing that I first met this masterpiece. Thanks to her, I came to realize the charms. I've listened to many others playing it since then, but nobody else play like that. To me, she 's a unique, superb pianist.
@Tom Lee Seems that the finger/face cam was recorded on a Bechstein, and the full-body cam was recorded on a Steinway. And I think that's the sound of the Steinway we are actually listening, cause there are a few mistakes(the Steinway performance was live) and actually there is no camera next to her, probably because the Bechstein record was made in studio.
Yes, it is a combination of two videos. The piano played in the video taken at a distance from her back is STEINWAY. The decal on fallboard is C.BECHSTEIN.
Despite the mistakes, this is one of my favorite performances from her. This is one of my favorite pieces of all time and I rarely see so much pure passion and heart put into it as it be should for this polonaise. Really fantastic!
Martha Argerich, prestigiosa pianista argentina reconocida mundialmente.
pablo caparroz This was the 7th Chopin Competition in 1965 in Warsaw, Poland , which Martha Argerich rose to prominence by winning at age 24. She is considered one of the greatest pianists of the second half of the twentieth century.Chopin was Polish and The International Chopin Piano Competition Often Referred it as the Chopin Competition , is a piano competition held in Warsaw , Poland, not "London". It was Initiated in 1927 and has been held every five years since 1955.
Martha is just amazing. She can truly play anything she wants to and make it convincing! For years my go to Tchaikovsky Concerto #1 performance was Gilels/Reiner, I never thought I would ever hear a better one. But Martha and Kondrashin proved me wrong. That live performance is simply fantastic. Also showed that women too can have wrists of steel!
I believe that after Chopin, no one other than Martha Argerich managed to interpret this piece of music with such perfection - as we never heard Chopin live, fortunately we have this. Every note, every sound phrase, every breath. I hear many pianists performing this masterpiece as if it were a tsunami of sound. It's not - Martha places absolutely every sound chord with cleanliness, perfection - she raises the musical tension, she returns the meaning and emotion to the point where it belongs. Whoever manages to get close to this, gets it right when interpreting this song, whoever thinks it's about pretending to be a pianist running a marathon, is sadly mistaken. Thank you Martha Argerich for this interpretation that will probably never be equaled.
Grazie Martha, Grazie Fred/Erica. Tu as encore réussi à me faire pleurer...

Today she may be older but she still have that speed and vivacity unique to her
Actually she is currently at her peak. See if you can find her live performance of Chopin 3rd Sonata from about a month ago. It's next level, even for her!
Love this piece. It was my inspiration to take up the piano as a little kid.
She's a miracle. I could live 300 years doing nothing but playing piano and I wouldn't be able to do that
Beautiful music and one of the most beautiful faces I've ever seen..thank you Martha
Pretty likely the most perfect rendition of this Opus I've ever heard. Thank you, oh so much for this recording, and of course, to the awesome lady, herself.
This is MUSIC!! q Honor una pianista Argentina!!
It was when I was a kid and happened to see her playing that I first met this masterpiece. Thanks to her, I came to realize the charms. I've listened to many others playing it since then, but nobody else play like that. To me, she 's a unique, superb pianist.
Art in music ! No words ! She's the best
Argerich turns a Steinway (0:01) into a Bechstein (0:08) just to turn it back again. Touché, Jesus!
wtf?!
Honestly, I don't care about the mistakes. She interpreted this piece SO WELL, nothing else matter. But THE SMILE at 5:31 warmed up my soul.
When the main theme returns
She’s so cute lol. She’s so talented!
@@Lisztener yes brother...
@@zuzannawisniewska4464 thanks…. Lol
@@Lisztener please.
Aside from her talent and great musicality i also love the pout and the smile, so sweet..love you Martha
Magnifique !
Wow! Amazing performance! I love watching her play....such finesse and spirit.
When she was so young, which is hard to imagine. That is how our lives flow. The young becomes the oldest.
Despite the mistakes, this is one of my favorite performances from her. This is one of my favorite pieces of all time and I rarely see so much pure passion and heart put into it as it be should for this polonaise. Really fantastic!
No le encuentro los errores.
wow, those octaves in the middle section! also, that smile that crosses her face when she gets back to the main theme must have lit up the stage.

For all of Poland. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I always like her interpretation, I first listened her performance from her debut album (one of my most favorite album all time)
love you Martha!!!
Amazing!!!! I love this performance~!
I could listen to it endlessly!!
I listen to this everyday, and I never stop smiling and feeling happy with this
I believe that after Chopin, no one other than Martha Argerich managed to interpret this piece of music with such perfection - as we never heard Chopin live, fortunately we have this.
She must be practicing piano very hard, I guess.
wonderful ! l love her way. Her touch is little different from other pianist.
It is said that she did much less practicing than others. purely genius
@@youngpenny3838 don't say that come on its what keeps me alive
Her smile at 5:31 reveals genuine happiness.
