One thing to note is that the Armor Piercing rounds in the Ground Belt actually has higher penetration against angled armor compared to the normal belt. So if you want to maximize your pen, run with either the Ground Belts or the Stealth Belts when it comes to ground pounding!
i use stealth, people dont try to dodge usually if they dont see tracers. They may be assuming im locking on a missile :P
Well said! Ive found air belts are also very useful because of the AOE, the explosives damage and disable vehicles really effectively, so Ive found niche uses for them hitting long convoys
I think a lot of wallet warriors are being frustrated because the A10 premium has a high spawn cost and they're finding it difficult to get to that point.
Because of the ammo being 160 sp which is bullshit and then to carry bombs are another 160sp but the russians dont get that punishment

It should also be said that the AGM-65D has an incredibly low zoom compared to the B variant.
Zoom should be increased soon but IDK, the A-10A late is still uncompleted

i had a game earlier today at 9.7 where the entire american team was nothing but stock WW2 vehicles. Easiest win and easiest point farm of my life.
@EndGameYTcaptain probably reserve vehicles + A10, though that wouldn't be stock.
In case u didn't know the a10 was designed to be slow and the turbo fan engines give it long loiter time (loiter means it can hang around in the sky and support ground troops)

I absolutely love this thing, having 4 all aspects make this thing a garenteed kill.
It's just requires you to fly the long way around to not die in the immediate furball in Air RB.
A-10 seems to be doing very well in ground forces from what I seen. Basically 6 guaranteed kills outside of AA range and if all those kills before you need to RTB.
Mavericks are a little weird, sometimes they lock onto dead tanks instead of the person you designate. It's still pretty good at ground though.

@@erethresrhalgr6640 Nah I'm getting the issue with Bs on the A-10A. I'll lock a tank and then the missile will, sometimes, go off and attack a dead one near by.
@@24YOA well that’s no good. I wonder if that’s also affecting the D variant and it locking on to dead tanks cuz of their thermal signature is also a bug.
@@erethresrhalgr6640 That lock thing actually happens on a lot of vehicles. Notably like Helicopters too, when I tried my friend's AH64a the hellfires also had such tendency, even though they are laser locked (the laser lock just switches to a dead tank).
I'd love to buy it or grind it despite the gross feeling it kinda is leaving. However, I've been grinding British top tier for a while now so there isn't much of a point for me. I've just invested my time into other trees so maybe like one day in a few years I'll focus on the US but not anytime soon. If I want to fly it, I'll just go back to doing CAS in Arma 3
@7:00 Ordinarily, the GBU's can be used at high speed and altitude to deadly effect, but the A-10 doesn't fly that way. The funfetti cannon more than makes up for that lack :D
If you play realistic air battles, and carry 6 2000lb bombs. You can sneak past the enemy kill two of there bases and then kill as many ground targets as possible, even if you only kill 1 base and no ground targets you’ll get 10k xp with premium version and premium account very usable to farm
Where tha a10 becomes the best grinder is in sim, especially now with the f14s as teammates, you can destroy 3 bases in 1 go

Both are great only as long as they are on the right hands but the fact anyone can install War Thunder and have access to top tier premiums really bothers me as well. They could have made it so you must reach at least rank5 or 6 to be able to buy top tier vehicles but nah. I understand Gaijin has to make money since the game is free but there's gotta be a better way, those new players that got hyped for the A10 I can guarantee in a few months will get bored and never come back, at least until a new premium comes along or whatever.

If there were such a limitation I wouldn't still be playing since the top tier premiums help so much in grinding thru the tree (XM-1 Got me all the way to the ABRAMS). But give and take, experienced players can farm more because of this stuff, but it'll leave a bad impression on the vehicles.
@@CharliMorganMusic because most of these players don't even stick around for too long plus they are useless, they rarely contribute anything other than being a free kill for experienced players.

For me it’s fairly simple : I don’t spend my time into a painful and funless grind for shit aircraft, and no premiums for me, I rather prefer into a good add-on for DCS.
Speaking of DCS, they gonna add some discount to few aircrafts like viper and A-10 tomorrow (or 2 days more depending where you live)
Ah the review on my BMP-2M food has finally arrived.
As of recent, it's confirmed that the U.S. Air Force will keep the A-10 in commission until the mid-2030s.
Fun fact:
The Late's AGM thermals are pretty much dog shit. They're gen 1 or something so expect super low resolution. This plus the fact that vehicles have a further reduced render range in thermals (it would seem) that most of the time using the thermals at the ideal range of the A-10 Late provides very little benefit at times. I've found the only real use for the thermal is to "spot" tanks by the massive cartoon smoke clouds created now when any tank shoots, though this can also be done through the generic camera view. Like with the normal view, your best bet is using player experience to guide your aim, look at spawns or regions you KNOW enemies are present in without having to see them directly, then use thermal to try and spot vehicles in active fights through their muzzle flash (The thermal signature at gen 1 and at a safe range will make spotting the tanks themselves practically impossible) then utilize the lock function to automatically snap the agm onto the enemy.
I've gotten several kills per AGM run this way but it requires some serious experience, but by pulling it off you can remain well clear of practically all SPAA's range and their attention-span.

Why isn't anyone talking about A10 early not having a MFD?
Its kinda sad because I preordered it but I did that knowing I have experience, I kind of know what I'm doing and I have the lineup for it. It feels like 90% of the people bought it for the hype and it gave the plane a bad culture and bad reputation in the game. If you got it and are new, just let it sit there until you're more experienced (Hard I know but I had to when i started the game and made the stupid decision of buying the IS-6) Then spend like an hour or two in test flight or custom battles and get good with everything it has. Get used to finding targets in black and white, your distances and how to be effective. THEN go use it. Sucks to see air battles being ruined too at the tier with 5 A10s spawning and dying before they do more than brrrt a few ground targets and get gunned down.
NGL, people should do what I did when i first bought my F5C, exclusively play arcade assault (this also works when i first bought my XM-1). You practice playing, fighting against enemies (for tanks it's better since you learn weakspots, and the enemies are actually top tier), and general controls. AND you also still get RP & SL, unlike custom battles/test flight AND you get to use ur premium instead of "just let it sit there until ur more experienced". Once you get decently acquainted with the vehicle then you start trying RB. I played my F5C exclusively in assault grinding through Tier 1-5 before my 2nd RB match.
Stealth rounds are the coolest looking rounds
Had 1 guy in the A10 behind me a teammate as I thought it would be a good Idea to bring out my A7D again and well I got both of my wings brrrt away just to see him disconnect and my Team falling apart before I got repaired .

Id imagine its 600km straight line speed at sea level, but it can definitely go faster. Ive hig 650 straight line & over 700km/h in a dive, catches people off guard lol

The same has been true for so many top tier premiums.
I will say though, the A-10 in air RB is kinda shit. It has a bombload and good missiles. But its too slow to use them effectively. Any competent pilot in a Mig-21, F4, A5 etc. will basically get a free kill (unless they commit to a headon or don't have flares).
The A-10 is great for killing ground targets like Light-Heavy tanks, pillboxes etc. IF it can get there (which is the main issue). I've had some games with 4-5 kills mainly using the missiles on planes that were busy with another A-10. Or people dumb enough to take a headon, using stealth ammo and firing from 3km on will usually result in their deaths and me dodging the return fire. however, if i miss i usually die, because the other plane can EASILY loop over and circle you.

It's not being a hypocrite on not recommending it because you bought it. The only fair reason to not recommend it is BECAUSE you bought it. For example, I can "not recommend" buying the TAMP 2IP and G91 (German), because i have them, played them, and disliked them. But I can't "not recommend" the Turms-T because, well I don't have it. (To be exact, you can always have an opinion, but the weight of said opinion regards the use of said item). More likely than not, your opinion to not recommend is stronger because you bought it.
Call me a wallet warrior if you will but when it comes to vehicles which have a tech tree and a premium variant, I literally only have to work an hour to buy the premium version as opposed to the 30+ hours to get the tech tree version. So I know which one I’m getting lol

@sn william they both do, and the prem gets gbu 8s as well as the agm 65b. The Late variant gets the agm 65d
Just use it like a Apache and throw mavericks from max range and you’ll be fine. They’re like PAR missiles on the German Tiger heli, and those things are absolutely insane after all.
You can also use the tactic of “let them go first.. eat the bullets” and use the less skilled A-10s as living distractions/meat shields while you go for your flanking run

@@snwilliam6886 In terms of CAS efficiency, F4C with 12 750Ib bombs is much better, or I would us A7D, with 4 AGM65B and 2 1000Ib bombs. This plane is slow and stupid af. No efficiency at all.

Is the a 10 a worth it pairing with and xm1 to grind the American tech tree? It would put me at 9.7 and be facing more armor with the xm1?

SPAA are extremely easy to deal with in my experience. Any gun based AA shouldn’t have a chance to kill you, as you can consistently kill them with gun runs from over 3km, while chaff throws their radar lock. Any missile based AA can be pretty consistently dodged by just putting the enemy SAM on your 3-9 line and dropping chaff. Not to mention the Mavericks make stand-off killing of these systems unbelievably easy
This guy said himself he isn't a flyer. My only problem is that nobody ever points out the gepard and shilka are the same br as the m163 while having more guns and passive radar. Am I the only one bothered by this?
I have a question about the jdam bombs do they track moving targets?
The real question is, are you already far enough into the US strike plane line to not have to do weeks of grinding to get to the late A-10A? If so, then get the late one. If not, the premium early A-10 is pretty much the same plane, just slightly better performance wise, has two less Sidewinders for the multipurpose loadouts and has an option for twin M61s, and costs slightly more to repair.

Um Kay little boy ….. if you play this game because you love war … and have been there …. This is the best thing to ever happen to war thunder and it is far better in real life than in the game this will come into its own with wild weasels and F15 and 16s the GAU 8 is the best sound I have ever heard .
