- The A-10A in War Thunder is FINALLY here! Today I played the Premium A-10A Early and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The A-10 boasts a 30mm cannon with over 100mm of penetration but more importantly... it has 6 Maverick Missiles which are absolutely devastating against enemy vehicles. You can fire and forget from 10km away from your intended target to make sure you're far enough away from those pesky SPAA's!

@@mr_bischof1406 well I would understand why a higher ranking vehicle is more expensive but 60$ is a little overkill, but at the same time the game needs balance so if 9.0 vehicles where 20-40 I'm sure it would be massively unbalanced.

The gun is actually mounted pointing a few degrees down as the recoil is so strong that when the gun fires, it actually lifts the nose of the plane slightly and its that lifting of the nose that actually brings the gun to line up with what the pilot is sighting.
it's actually slightly off to one side as well to account for the recoil
He also G overload. So they would’ve clipped his wings for a while. And the craft would for sure be decommissioned.
This is not true. The main gun is mounted slightly to the port side of the fuselage so the firing barrel is perfectly lined up to the center and slightly below the plane's center of gravity.. There is no downward angle.

That's just Wikipedia though. My info actually comes from this book. I used to read it as a kid. Keep in mind, I was born in 82. No internet when I was young and can assure you I laid on my bed reading that book cover to cover many times over.

I remember the A10 very well indeed. It can lose an engine, half of one wing and a quarter of the other wing as well as one of the twin tails and still fly back to base. And that's not even hyperbole. That shit happened in real life.

At top tier it's fun to see all of 'em come in. Though when 90% of your team is SPAA and absolutely prepared for it.... they don't fare so well. 70% of German 8.7 teams at the moment are Bagleitpanzers. It's a slaughter if the A-10s don't know how to use AGM-65s properly.

You'll have far more fun now. Top tier is unbalanced as all hell. Planes insta kill tanks and get insta killed by AA, literally just who spawns what

I got the premium AND research tree one...simply because I LOVE the A-10. I've loved em since I was 8 years old and it was one of the first plane models I ever built. Iconic, amazing and even if it sucks in ground RB with all the AA it's still a badass plane!

“Fair and balanced” air to ground ATGM gameplay
It doesn't take much to break the lock on a maverick. Smoke up and move 10 feet, your safe. Just gotta be paying attention. At least you can see the a10, the ka50s are a much sneakier issue, and that stupid missle they shoot kills planes, tanks and other choppers.

There's a campground in New Jersey I used to go as a teen with a airforce range near by and on Sunday everything we went the a-10's would be out for shooting practice it was the best.

what're your controls for using the Mavericks on the A-10? I tried setting something up on a test flight but I couldn't get comfortable with the bindings. maybe you could do a video tutorial?
If only they would fix the gunner view camera for console so I could use vehicles like the A-10 to its full potential

Yeaaa I was playing air rb 9.0-10.0 with the new update. About half of both sides were full of A-10’s most of them dropped like flies within the first 4 minutes. It’s gonna be like this for about a week or two…

I love the A-10 - If you have ever seen one with the gun outside of the airplane, you will quickly realize that the gun system is Almost as large as the Entire Airplane. My kind of Dakka for sure!

I think it will do well enough in air RB due to fire and forget Mavericks on heavy and med AI tanks from miles away.
