- The Gaijin Marketplace is a funny thing. The Object 279 is one of the most expensive vehicles on the market but for a few days prices plummeted even though it's the most expensive thing you can obtain...
Turns out, players were selling their expensive coupons to buy loot boxes to try and get an upgrade. That... was a HUGE mistake.
So, today... I wanted to play the Object 279 with it's MASSIVE 130mm cannon and ridiculous armour profile to just go have some fun in War Thunder! :)

I love how the IS-7 is tons more expensive, but this thing is quite literally better in almost every way than that in exchange for a single BR increase.
Now bring an object 279 maus and e100 and youll have the greatest game ever 4 rare vehicles

the Object 279 was the only event vehicle that was ever worth the grind, in my opinion. I love that thing.

I remember when you Benny and Phly took out your Object 279s, some amazing and hilarious moments! :')
I remember facing this beast in my 8.0 Italian setup with Aubl-hvg, R3-t120 and Centauro when it was introduced. It was immortal, could not pen it even from behind, totally balanced as all event vehicles were.
Yeah i had a blast playing it aswell being immortal when it first released also would give me a good laugh everytime people would try to revenge bomb and it would just do nothing
Yup, I've remembered shooting APFSDS at it with the MBT-70 and I couldn't pen anything other than the small spot near the driver's port. It was stupid

Seeing that Huey come screaming in over top of you legit had me humming "Ride of the Valkyries". Also those bombs failing to kill you was the most hilarious thing I've seen all day; I bet that CAS player was pissed and was probably screaming at his monitor like "why won't this bastard die?!"

I like how odd bought 3 BT-7 F32s when they were about 17 USD, and has 10 ITPs from when they were like 7. Mans an investment god (and knows powerful vehicles)
I'm so glad I got the 279 when it was first added. It's such a fun tank.
The building breach lol that's cruel and must have looked beautiful seeing it turn to dust and crumble right next to your enemy
The Huey coming down to land on the cap was such a cool moment. Sometimes, CAS can be pretty awesome.
Fun fact: This tank has external fuel tanks near the tracks, and they do not need FPE to extinquish, just let em burn and u get no damage!
it would be cool if you brought out the Tiger 6 and the Chi-ri II together because they're like night and day opposites of tanks
I had some spare SL and gambled a little. Mostly boosters and other junk but I did get a coupon for the premium German Coastal ship Lubeck which I was able to sell for enough Gaijin Bucks to fuel my camouflage addiction
This thing must have been a monster back when there were no technological counters to it

i remember in a 38th parallel match a 279 went to our spawn and was getting shot at by at least 3 people and absorbed like 20 rounds before i randomly shot the turret ring and killed him
I grinded so much for this tank it nearly broke my sanity. I grinded it using Japan aviation tech tree and actually managed to reach the F4EJ before I got this thing. Best event vehicle ever
Yup the 279 cannot die to bombs probably only BIG bombs like the FAB-5000 or the new one, or with AGM but its still hard since you need to hit the hatches on top of the turret, in SQB its a nightmare since if you dont kill it with tanks is basically over.
I got the Ki-94, the plane that used to be $2K USD on the gaijin market, on my first and last 'gatcha' box thing from one of the last events. it dropped down to like 130 usd, still nuts, but I waited several months and when it bumped back up to over 200, I sold it.

Odd, I always love your videos. But, I have to say seeing you Kool Aid man those two tanks was exceptional. And seeing that Huey do a quick pedal turn and land on the cap with you topped it all. As always, your content is fantastic, and so are you.

Silver Lions can be generated for free by simply playing, so i see no loss in using them to have a chance to get some rare vehicles.

I have the Oj279. I grinded the event. Spent no money to get it. Literally played blood, sweat and tears to get it. Basically became a second job to get
Same and no joke took a month off warthunder after the event only got to play a handfull of games with the 8.3 br until it got bumped up to 8.7 blood and sweat tears indeed.

Even if the Object was moved to 8.7, it's never unfazed from it's bias

Maybe I've just been blessed by the snail but I've gotten a lot of crazy vehicles from those silver lion crate events. So far I've won a BI, Jaguar E and a BMD-4
The first day I got this thing after grinding it I squared up with a Tiger II and said aloud "what're you gonna do? pen me?" and he slapped me right next to the gun and hit the ammo in the back of my turret. Still remember that gigachad.

i remember grinding out the event years ago. After hours and hours i completed it, but I never played ground back then, so I opted for the au-1 instead. I sold it a year later for around 300gjn. Much regret now :(

The prices crashing isn't because of people selling them to buy SL to buy crates. Its because you can get those vehicles from the SL crate and no matter how rare a few people are going to get them. Many of those people having only spent like 1m SL on it and seeing they can sell it to a buy order for 200+ GJN just dump it. Which tanks the price.
Yeah so it wasn't people selling their stash was just the extra supply the crates created

I remember carrying a match one time in Sands of Sinai, if I remember correctly, by by defeating a Obj 279 with my Ru 251. I felt so damn powerful. If I lost the duel it would have very likely carried the enemy team single-handedly.
Theres nothing more satisfying than popping russian heavies specially in an uptier with trapshots
Getting this thing was one of the dumbest warthunder experiences of my life.
It was during one of the crafting events that I had zero interest in so I was just selling off parts from it and buying keys to unbox crates. Wound up getting a KV-1E to drop which I had zero interest in and happened to sell within a reasonable ballpark range of the object 279. I think in total I spend probably around 15-20 actual dollars on the 279 at most with the rest financed off the KV-1E.
Another day of asking for OddBawz to play the Su-122p. BEST TANK EVER!!!!!

I was one of the 2 people who sold at that bottom 255... I thought its going to drop for sure not aware that the chances of vehicles dropping are even lower than at previous events.
Im so Happy that i bought it Back in the day when the price was low, i even pulled the Event merkava and Sold it for 170gc now im waiting Till Something cool in the Market

Funny thing: kI actually got a 2nd Obj 279 (grinded the original event) from the first lootboxes event, sold it for 280GJN cupple of years ago, still running premium acc from that money :D
Did cost me 155 lootboxes though, but since I had over 90 million SL, it didn't really hurt me I guess xD

Wanted the IS-7 but after only Me or my Cousin could get it,I sacrificed my time on him profile to ensure one of us gets the IS-7.
But I am very happy having the 279.

I do get some of the loot boxes, just to get back ups. I have yet to get any type of vehicle though, so at least my low expectation of getting back ups works for me. I seem to burn through them pretty fast.

The name Anchovy_Sama is the name of an Italian tank commander in the anime Girls Und Panzer. his clan tan was the name of the team from the anime too (Anzio)
You should definitely take out the Heavy Tank No. 6 and see how many German mains you can confuse by driving up beside their own versions of the Tiger. It would also give you a chance to play the Sub I-II for Japan, which has APDS belts at 5.3 and is like a mini Falcon.

As one of the noble weeaboo master race; I can all but confirm that a shark character of questionable morality would be something of a gang leader and the author of that series would /probably/ name that character Anchovy. Which would make all the underlings address that character as "Anchovy-sama(or Anchovy-aniki/aneki if it was a yakuza-esq story).
