Next time the comedian should try to speak without moving his lips and with a head set mic. Then he should walk over to the interpreter with a grotesque look or go off stage while talking.

There is absolutely no need for an Interpreter for the Deaf's hands to reach further than the perimeter of their torso. Beyond that is simply overkill , unecessary, obnoxious, and distracting. There is also no reason for them to display exaggerated facial expressions or engage in flailling their arms.
Hi! As someone who’s taken a few years of ASL, the facial expressions ARE actually a part of it. :) Eyebrow placement / facial expressions can be just as grammatical as the hand signs. And also, ASL is a concept/visual language, it’s not structured the same as spoken English. He’s shaping his signs to get across the tone/attitude of what’s being said. Which isn’t easy to do in real time! He’s doing an incredible job! :)
