    • @recjr7685
      @recjr7685 4 года назад +53

      There's a reason for that... At least for the camera angles.
      Dragon Age Inquisition was, up until the later stages, designed with a human Inquisitor in mind.
      The other races were put in as an afterthought.
      That's why there are only two voice actors for each gender, and there is no Welsh actor for a dalish Inquisitor for example.

    I stand by my belief this game is an ‘Ivory Tower’ experience. Imagine there was a moment when a Qunari player was aggressed in dialogue and the player could choose to grab the offender by the throat and lift them off the ground, possibly killing them if you wanted. Doing so would be met with combat directly afterward and people throughout the game would reference it and use it as an example of “Qunari savagery”.

    • @adekaiwamisou

      True, but considering the amount of intertwining content and stories we already got, to complain about it more would seem a bit ungrateful. Plus, we're talking about bioware under EA, can't imagine they'd allow it unless it felt extremely forced.

    What Dorian says is not racist
    Just facts
    Funny thing is
    I've never played as a human
    My dwarfs never believe in anything, except gold
    And my dalish always tend to the old ways
    While my Vashoth are always andrastian
    So the person most people have the biggest concern with is in my game always the one who is most supportive to the chantry
    Really though, Dorian is the last person I'd call racist
    She IS tall
    And the 'real' Qunari ARE at war with Tevinter more or less, so they would REALLY just kill him
    If there is anyone in this game who judges people by their personality and not their race or heritage it's Dorian
    And Mother Giselle is not racist either
    Informing someone what someone else is thinking is not racist
    She's giving the Herald a chance to prove herself, which is fair
    After being the only survivor it is rational to not just jump to a point to trust someone
    In her place I wouldn't trust the herald outright either, no matter the race
    Could be coincidence the Herald survived, could be divine intention, could be the Herald survived because she was at fault for the explosion
    She is racist to Dorian later in game
    But to the Herald she is very open minded

    • @Marispider
      @Marispider 3 года назад +15

      I'd call Mother Giselle xenophobic, not racist, since Tevinters aren't a race. But yeah, some of these weren't so much racist as much "hey, you're going to have to be careful" or "I'm guessing you don't follow the philosophy that hates people like me." They're still not nice things to hear, definitely, and I wouldn't blame Adaar for being a little offended and reactionary (esp with Dorian, I love him but he's a lil tone deaf), and since they still have to do with race issues I think they belong in the comp anyways

    Flissa's comment is at least... sorta nice lol. Still racist, but at least she tries. Also I'm planning on replaying DAI soon and I wanna do a Qunari Inquisitor to see how different that would be (I've already done human and elf) but the only thing stopping me is that I can't romance Cullen as a Qunari. T.T Your only options as a Qunari (well, technically Vashoth) Inquisitor are Sera, Dorian, or Iron Bull. Since I don't like girls and Dorian is gay, that leaves me with just Iron Bull and he's great and all but it sucks being railroaded into a single romance. I get why they made it so race played a role in who you could romance and I appreciate the realism it lends but goddammit let me romance Cullen again!

    • @AnnaMno1
      @AnnaMno1 Год назад

      Only Cullen and Solas are race locked though, other than those two though...
      - Iron Bull and Josephine are romanceable no matter your character's gender
      - Sara and Blackwall are only romanceable by a female inquizitor
      - Dorian and Cassandra are only romanceable as a male inquizitor
      So every playthrough has at least 1 straight 1 gay and 2 bi (or 2 same gender, 2 opposite gender) romance options, you just get 1-2 more playing a female human or elf
      In short you have; Fem elves = 6 romance options, Fem humans = 5 romance options, every other race/gender combination = 4 romance options

    To be honest i still wondering if you are not human how can you be not stone to death the moment Cassandra bring you out of the chantry at the start !
    There is only 2 back ground that makes you "trust worthy"
    Human : because you are a "good Noble"... and stuff, you family seems to educate you to serve the chantry.
    Qunari mage : for a Qunari would never let a mage free
    Others should be excuted on the spot...
    Qunari soldier : You could be a Ben'hasrath doing mess to prepare a Qunari invasion.
    Dwarf : I'm a lyrium dealer and i just made sure that templar and mage who both needs lyrium still fight eachother ! Hey boss i'm a hero i just made sure buisness is still running & lyrium price break the cielling.
    Elf : except if Solas Find you & brings you to Cassandra, no way you survive... you are a Dalish... you don't belive in Andraste, moreover you where victims of exalted marchs that look like pure revenge !
