I think a likely answer to what Kakashi has been up to is that he was tracking kashin koji. Kakashi is definitely smart enough to get suspicious of Koji is and draw a connection between him and Jiraiya. I think Kakashi and Jiriya had a close enough relationship in Naruto for the writers to bring them back together in Boruto/ During the time skip, Kakashi can split his focus between Koji and Sasuke and eventually find a connection between the two. He'd confront them, learn the truth of whats going on and ultimately join Boruto's side

Rasengan is blunt force trauma. Chidori is like a blade that slashes and pierces. Rasen shuriken is a bomb that cuts what it’s thrown at. Vanishing rasengan is a throwable that disappears visually. All different forms of the “rasengan” with different form of elemental release added to it to change its form or attack ability.

Which was around the Mujina Bandits time frame. On Boruto's first data card it list Shadow Clone, Rasengan, Purple Lightning, Gale Palm, and Spatter Bullet. So Boruto has been a Shinden user. They decided to hold off on it til later, the a teaser at the Chunin Exams.

And also mitsuki can use it cuz he used it against Ao in manga.(Ao - former mizukage's guard) And also in databooks it is written that one of borutos abillities is purple lightning. (12 - 13 year old boruto) Plus i highly doubt that kakashi is rouge ninja. What i mean is that with all shit that is and is about to happen, i dont think Kishimoto has time and space to create timeline with rouge kakashi
Even ignoring the fact that he already knew it, where is kakashi then? Kakashi said he would hunt down sasuke if he ever left the village as a rogue again. If kakashi actually did that, and caught up to sasuke and boruto, do you not think kakashi is smart enough to eventually believe what they're telling him about omnipotence? I think he is. I think kishimoto should’ve specified the Purple Lightning and Chidori also maybe had slightly different attributes. Making one of them better for certain situations. Like Chidori is faster hence the tunnel vision. But purple lightning packs a harder punch. And when I say there is a speed or a strength difference. Just subtract maybe 25% of one or the other. Aka Chidori is 25% faster but purple lightning makes up for this with 25% more power.

Both boruto and mitsuki knew purple lightning pre timeskip, boruto just never used it on screen. The proof is in the sasuke shinden novel where he was talking to boruto about lightning release and it's piercing power and said "your purple lightning is like that". Mitsuki actually used it in the manga in the ao arc, but it was changed in the anime to snake lightning which is really dumb.
Boruto already knew Purple Lightning in Part 1. It's literally on his character data sheet for Volume 1 a couple years ago. It's even stated in various novels. Kakashi might've taught him the jutsu but it wasn't during the time-skip as a rogue ninja. It literally takes a google search for those who don't believe me.
Sasuke may also have taught him chidory and then taught him Yiden. The Jiden is based on the Chidorie and the Chidorie can also be learned without the Sharingang (Kakashi developed it without the Sharingang). I rather think it would be more likely that Kakashi took Sarada to improve her sharingan as well as Chidory. Jutsus like the Chidorie Nagashi could use Boruto and we've also seen something in TBV that is very similar to this

You know what’s crazy? I’m roleplaying on Naruto Connections and in my story Kakashi is a rouge ninja due to quitting the anbu after being forced to aid Itachi in a version of the Uchiha massacre I made up and he ends up training Sasuke. Teaching him Kirin or teaching him more of lightning style which allows Sasuke to come up with Kirin. It’s pretty fun.

I think Momoshiki is why Boroto has all these new moves. Dude literally absorbs anything once and has it forever. Boruto casually chilling next to a Sasuke tree with Darui, kakashi and Koji (3 Kage level characters) and being the strongest out of all of them after the time skip would be a good flashback arc
I think it could be a mix of all three. Sasuke teaches boruto the basics of chidori, maybe to channel it through his sword I dunno, kashin koji then reminds boruto that kakashi is the one who made that jutsu and then he perfected it. And boruto by himself figures out how to use purple lightning because he is a genius after all.

The real question to ask is: What ACTUALLY makes Purple Lightning different than Chidori? Because from a Chakra Manipulation standpoint, the Chidori is just a bunch of Lightning Nature chakra condensed and compressed into the palm of one's hand. The tunnel vision associated with it comes from the speed at which the mover is using, not from the jutsu itself, so what's to stop someone from just...running slower? Wouldn't that solve the tunnel vision issue? What is so different between the Chidori and Purple Lightning that it necessitated creating a separate jutsu? My guess is it's the piercing factor. Unlike Wind Nature, that naturally enhances the sharpness of both the chakra and the object it's applied to, Lightning Nature simply energizes what it's applied to enhance its natural characteristics. When you apply it to a sword it makes the sword vibrate, which enhances its cutting power, but only because the sword was already sharp. But hands are not sharp, so while Lightning Chakra does give the Chidori some inherent power, you gotta make the hand able to pierce flesh before the Chidori can enhance it. THAT'S why the Chidori requires the user to move at such high speed, because the speed it what is providing the base piercing power for the Chidori to enhance. Therefore, what Purple Lightning is doing is changing the Chakra Shape or Nature in some way to greatly enhance its piercing power, thereby negating the need to move at such high speed to get anywhere. It's possible that Purple Lightning incorporates some Wind Style Chakra to enhance the cutting power by A LOT seeing as how Lightning is to Wind as Wind is to Fire, and that would explain why Purple Lightning is such a devastatingly powerful technique that's actually MORE powerful than Chidori. What do y'all think?
I think Boruto not only learnt purple lightning from Kakashi but that Kakashi was probably the one to also teach him Flying Thunder God as he is Minato's student. Just something that makes sense to me and seems obvious but i might be wrong.

Sumire is a Shigaraki. Tanuki Shigaraki was her father and was Part of Roots and the Anbu Black Ops. Anyone from Roots was affiliated with Danzo and bares a curse mark which we now know as Karma Marks. That screams Orochimaru’s name, because he was mastering Karma Marks since Naruto part 1. And I think with Nue she has Hashirama Cells and a Karma Mark (maybe just Nue? But it isn’t being denied, though. She was experimented on she might of gotten with Nue). Nick, awesome video as always. But, there’s a few things to note. Naruto and sasuke having six paths isn’t in the air. The data books state that six paths chakra can be unlocked 2 ways: By either recombining Indra and Ashura’s chakra. or, Becoming the Jinchuriki of all 9 tailed beasts. During the war arc Naruto and sasuke do just this. Naruto obtains all 9 Bijuu (and is confirmed in the light novels to still have them in boruto). And sasuke obtains Hashi Cells (specifically ones that were taken before hashi died) and as an Indra reincarnate they will mix and create hagoromo’s six paths chakra from this. This is further backed up when they meet hagoromo, as he specifically says THEY meaning Naruto and sasuke summoned his soul. He didn’t appear to them, they brought him to them. Hagoromo stated this is how it works when he appears from the severed half of madara’s body. The databooks stated 4 forms of six paths: Six paths Senjutsu/six paths power. Six paths sage mode/SPSM. The sun and moon seal/The Yin Yang Seals, And The rinnegan. All of these are the original forms of six paths chakra from shippuden. The databooks state that hagoromo Gifted Naruto and sasuke the Yin/Yang seals, as well as gifting Naruto SPSM. However both Naruto and sasuke met and kept the requirements for six paths chakra. On top of this: hagoromo takes the seals back after they defeat kaguya, meaning they don’t have them in the final valley. Now one could argue that because it took madara years to combine the chakra that sasuke didn’t unlock rinnegan himself. However madara wasn’t fighting during that time, He also received far less hashirama cells than sasuke did. Still, we don’t know why sasuke unlocked six tomea on his rinnegan. And the argument could be made that hagoromo sped this process up exponentially. However Naruto and sasuke are still listed as six paths users in boruto. Naruto can still touch six paths chakra rods, (Ishiki’s rods) And so can sasuke. You could say they no longer possess hagoromo’s six paths specifically. But nonetheless they still have six paths. And even if they lost hagoromo’s it’s clear that didn’t effect their power as they’re clearly stated and shown to have surpassed kaguya. Phew…… that was a lot of writing. The seconded thing is: boruto is listed as knowing purple lighting before the time skip (Not talking about the ninja tool). And you’re right, the Jogan has the same increased perception as the sharingan, Meaning there was no reason for him to learn purple lighting. Have a nice day.

Real talk. From what I remember reading Kakashi has never met nor interacted with Kawaki. So, hypothetically, if he has no memories of Kawaki he'd have none to switch thus making the omnipotence mute on him.

Boruto knew rasengan before the chuunin exams but didn’t use it till the momoshiki fight, surprising naruto. Point is, Boruto knew purple lightning way before the time skip and way before their fight against Ao. He just doesn’t use it as he isn’t confident in his skills with it. Boruto and Mitsuki learnt purple lightning from Kakashi before their fight against Ao.
In the Boruto Chunin Exams anime episodes, Boruto is found cheating because he uses the Purple Lightning scroll in his glove tech thing. And the lesson was to not cheat or look for shortcuts . So I think it's cool that now he has actually learned purple lightning through training and persistence .

Well, Boruto using purple lightning is awesome, but its based on what he'd learned from how sasuke uses chidori on his sword. Besides, in the chunin exams, Boruto used the ninja tool that stored the purple lightning jutsu, and because kashin koji worked with ao who put dr kataske under genjutsu, I'm sure koji kashin knows the basics of the purple lightning based on the scrolls. So, its pretty safe to say thay Boruto learned purple lightning from koji kashin, but thanks to the ninja scroll that contained the jutsu. Thats my theory, at least
Kakashi probably taught boruto flying raijin. He might not be able to use it, but he should know the theory of this jutsu. I mean, minatos squad special jonins knew it. And kakshi probably also would be able to use with some backup guys from special squad.

I thought it would be common sense since Sasuke is his master he taught him. Although sasuke may not use different types of jutsu or purple lightning, he is also a genius. He can teach things he can’t directly use just like Kakashi taught Naruto.

Based on my meager knowlege (anime+manga-databooks), I have a tiny theory: So, we already know Boruto has an affinity for lightning nature. During the chunin exams, it's true that he cheated using purple lightning as one of his several battle cheese moments. However, he still had a certain understanding on how to handle the jutsu and how to use it effectively. He just didn't have to burden his own chakra reserves to do it. In using the jutsu with training wheels first, he has first-hand experience on what it's supposed to feel like externally when he executes the technique correctly. Seeing as he's a "genius," it's not a huge leap in my mind to believe he reverse engineered the technique for himself SINCE that time. As for the databooks people are chittering about, this explanation makes even more sense if he simply didn't use it himself with his own chakra reserves, because OF COURSE the technique wasn't battle ready yet! OF COURSE he wouldn't use it before he can bear the burden effectively! On top of his fears about Momoshiki strutting out should his chakra deplete too much? It'd make perfect sense to shelve purple lightning as a viable technique for practical use until his chakra pool can at least support more than 4 shadow clones! 😂

Even ignoring the fact that he already knew it, where is kakashi then? Kakashi said he would hunt down sasuke if he ever left the village as a rogue again. If kakashi actually did that, and caught up to sasuke and boruto, do you not think kakashi is smart enough to eventually believe what they're telling him about omnipotence? I think he is. Either way, Kakashi definitely met up with sasuke and boruto in the skip at some point. Edit: Also the data book is straight up not canon in my opinion. Look at what it says Boruto's stats are compared to the rest of the characters. I think its a complete accident it says he knows purple lightning to begin with, probably something to do with him using purple lightning in the chunin exams via the scientific tool.

I think kishimoto should’ve specified the Purple Lightning and Chidori also maybe had slightly different attributes. Making one of them better for certain situations. Like Chidori is faster hence the tunnel vision. But purple lightning packs a harder punch. And when I say there is a speed or a strength difference. Just subtract maybe 25% of one or the other. Aka Chidori is 25% faster but purple lightning makes up for this with 25% more power.

Both boruto and mitsuki knew purple lightning pre timeskip, boruto just never used it on screen. The proof is in the sasuke shinden novel where he was talking to boruto about lightning release and it's piercing power and said "your purple lightning is like that". Mitsuki actually used it in the manga in the ao arc, but it was changed in the anime to snake lightning which is really dumb.
Boruto had purple lighting since chapter 1. His character profile from the start had purple lighting on it. Kishi seems to have always intended this.
Boruto already knew Purple Lightning in Part 1. It's literally on his character data sheet for Volume 1 a couple years ago. It's even stated in various novels.

Sasuke may also have taught him chidory and then taught him Yiden. The Jiden is based on the Chidorie and the Chidorie can also be learned without the Sharingang (Kakashi developed it without the Sharingang). I rather think it would be more likely that Kakashi took Sarada to improve her sharingan as well as Chidory. Jutsus like the Chidorie Nagashi could use Boruto and we've also seen something in TBV that is very similar to this

You know what’s crazy? I’m roleplaying on Naruto Connections and in my story Kakashi is a rouge ninja due to quitting the anbu after being forced to aid Itachi in a version of the Uchiha massacre I made up and he ends up training Sasuke. Teaching him Kirin or teaching him more of lightning style which allows Sasuke to come up with Kirin. It’s pretty fun.
What we need is a squad of Kakashi Koji Orochimaru and Kabuto on a rescue mission to get Sasuke or something.

I think it could be a mix of all three. Sasuke teaches boruto the basics of chidori, maybe to channel it through his sword I dunno, kashin koji then reminds boruto that kakashi is the one who made that jutsu and then he perfected it. And boruto by himself figures out how to use purple lightning because he is a genius after all.

The real question to ask is: What ACTUALLY makes Purple Lightning different than Chidori? Because from a Chakra Manipulation standpoint, the Chidori is just a bunch of Lightning Nature chakra condensed and compressed into the palm of one's hand. The tunnel vision associated with it comes from the speed at which the mover is using, not from the jutsu itself, so what's to stop someone from just...running slower? Wouldn't that solve the tunnel vision issue? What is so different between the Chidori and Purple Lightning that it necessitated creating a separate jutsu?
My guess is it's the piercing factor. Unlike Wind Nature, that naturally enhances the sharpness of both the chakra and the object it's applied to, Lightning Nature simply energizes what it's applied to enhance its natural characteristics. When you apply it to a sword it makes the sword vibrate, which enhances its cutting power, but only because the sword was already sharp. But hands are not sharp, so while Lightning Chakra does give the Chidori some inherent power, you gotta make the hand able to pierce flesh before the Chidori can enhance it. THAT'S why the Chidori requires the user to move at such high speed, because the speed it what is providing the base piercing power for the Chidori to enhance.
Therefore, what Purple Lightning is doing is changing the Chakra Shape or Nature in some way to greatly enhance its piercing power, thereby negating the need to move at such high speed to get anywhere. It's possible that Purple Lightning incorporates some Wind Style Chakra to enhance the cutting power by A LOT seeing as how Lightning is to Wind as Wind is to Fire, and that would explain why Purple Lightning is such a devastatingly powerful technique that's actually MORE powerful than Chidori.

I think Boruto not only learnt purple lightning from Kakashi but that Kakashi was probably the one to also teach him Flying Thunder God as he is Minato's student. Just something that makes sense to me and seems obvious but i might be wrong.

Nick, awesome video as always. But, there’s a few things to note.
Naruto and sasuke having six paths isn’t in the air. The data books state that six paths chakra can be unlocked 2 ways: By either recombining Indra and Ashura’s chakra. or, Becoming the Jinchuriki of all 9 tailed beasts. During the war arc Naruto and sasuke do just this. Naruto obtains all 9 Bijuu (and is confirmed in the light novels to still have them in boruto).
And sasuke obtains Hashi Cells (specifically ones that were taken before hashi died) and as an Indra reincarnate they will mix and create hagoromo’s six paths chakra from this.
This is further backed up when they meet hagoromo, as he specifically says THEY meaning Naruto and sasuke summoned his soul. He didn’t appear to them, they brought him to them. Hagoromo stated this is how it works when he appears from the severed half of madara’s body.
The databooks stated 4 forms of six paths:
Six paths Senjutsu/six paths power. Six paths sage mode/SPSM. The sun and moon seal/The Yin Yang Seals, And The rinnegan. All of these are the original forms of six paths chakra from shippuden. The databooks state that hagoromo Gifted Naruto and sasuke the Yin/Yang seals, as well as gifting Naruto SPSM. However both Naruto and sasuke met and kept the requirements for six paths chakra. On top of this: hagoromo takes the seals back after they defeat kaguya, meaning they don’t have them in the final valley.
Now one could argue that because it took madara years to combine the chakra that sasuke didn’t unlock rinnegan himself. However madara wasn’t fighting during that time, He also received far less hashirama cells than sasuke did.
Still, we don’t know why sasuke unlocked six tomea on his rinnegan. And the argument could be made that hagoromo sped this process up exponentially. However Naruto and sasuke are still listed as six paths users in boruto. Naruto can still touch six paths chakra rods, (Ishiki’s rods) And so can sasuke. You could say they no longer possess hagoromo’s six paths specifically. But nonetheless they still have six paths. And even if they lost hagoromo’s it’s clear that didn’t effect their power as they’re clearly stated and shown to have surpassed kaguya.
Phew…… that was a lot of writing. The seconded thing is: boruto is listed as knowing purple lighting before the time skip (Not talking about the ninja tool). And you’re right, the Jogan has the same increased perception as the sharingan, Meaning there was no reason for him to learn purple lighting.

Nick, Boruto knew Purple Lightning way before Kawaki Arc even happened. Sasuke taught him and you can read it in the novel Sasuke Shinden: The Teacher's Star Pupil. Also, this was confirmed in the manga and databook in regards of Boruto's stats! 😅
Real talk. From what I remember reading Kakashi has never met nor interacted with Kawaki. So, hypothetically, if he has no memories of Kawaki he'd have none to switch thus making the omnipotence mute on him.
Saying Boruto can't learn or use Chidori seems like a stretch. I just don't think Boruto, with his Karma enhancement, has less visual prowess then 13 year old Sarada with a 2 tomoe sharingan. Boruto knew rasengan before the chuunin exams but didn’t use it till the momoshiki fight, surprising naruto.
Point is, Boruto knew purple lightning way before the time skip and way before their fight against Ao. He just doesn’t use it as he isn’t confident in his skills with it.
Boruto and Mitsuki learnt purple lightning from Kakashi before their fight against Ao.
In the Boruto Chunin Exams anime episodes, Boruto is found cheating because he uses the Purple Lightning scroll in his glove tech thing. And the lesson was to not cheat or look for shortcuts . So I think it's cool that now he has actually learned purple lightning through training and persistence .

Well, Boruto using purple lightning is awesome, but its based on what he'd learned from how sasuke uses chidori on his sword. Besides, in the chunin exams, Boruto used the ninja tool that stored the purple lightning jutsu, and because kashin koji worked with ao who put dr kataske under genjutsu, I'm sure koji kashin knows the basics of the purple lightning based on the scrolls. So, its pretty safe to say thay Boruto learned purple lightning from koji kashin, but thanks to the ninja scroll that contained the jutsu. Thats my theory, at least

Kakashi probably taught boruto flying raijin. He might not be able to use it, but he should know the theory of this jutsu. I mean, minatos squad special jonins knew it. And kakshi probably also would be able to use with some backup guys from special squad.

Idk about the manga but there was a tiny scroll sealed in the anime in the chunin exams and he did it once and so he go a feel and saw it
Based on my meager knowlege (anime+manga-databooks), I have a tiny theory:
So, we already know Boruto has an affinity for lightning nature. During the chunin exams, it's true that he cheated using purple lightning as one of his several battle cheese moments. However, he still had a certain understanding on how to handle the jutsu and how to use it effectively. He just didn't have to burden his own chakra reserves to do it. In using the jutsu with training wheels first, he has first-hand experience on what it's supposed to feel like externally when he executes the technique correctly.
Seeing as he's a "genius," it's not a huge leap in my mind to believe he reverse engineered the technique for himself SINCE that time.
As for the databooks people are chittering about, this explanation makes even more sense if he simply didn't use it himself with his own chakra reserves, because OF COURSE the technique wasn't battle ready yet! OF COURSE he wouldn't use it before he can bear the burden effectively! On top of his fears about Momoshiki strutting out should his chakra deplete too much? It'd make perfect sense to shelve purple lightning as a viable technique for practical use until his chakra pool can at least support more than 4 shadow clones! 😂
Sasuke has been seen using purple lightning quite a few times actually on his atonement journey outside the village.
