Fantastic video! Your approach hasn't been covered in any SolidWorks seat/chair videos, so this is unique. Loved seeing the print farm make an appearance!

Love the video! I saw at the beginning of the video that you had started a train for Fury 325 and I was trying to create a similar B&M hyper train using solidworks. Where do you get the information on the design of the trains? Especially the stuff you can't see from pictures

Love this series! For coaster cutouts, how do you go from the 3d model of the product assembled to the parts laid out on a flat sheet? how do you plan for maximum material yield? Trial and error by hand or automation?

Thanks for the comment and great question! I have a macro written that if the part is on the front plane it will create a dxf of that part from that plane. As far as maximizing sheet material I have played around with vectric 3d nesting (which is AWESOME!) but as I experimented with the CoasterDynamix team we realized we could manually place the parts to make them easier to punch out. So its nothing special. To answer your question we used both methods and each has pros and cons. At this point we can turn around a coastercutout "quicklyish"... or a Millennium Force Lift Hill after thrashing with passion in months :D
