  • Here is some new footage from Led Zeppelin's performance in Cleveland on 1/24/1975 shot by Jerry Karbowniczek. This isn't a part of the liberation series since this footage has actually been sitting on RUclips for a year and was brought to my attention by Sir_GH. This sync is a little rough... the transfer is far less than ideal but it's from a unique angle behind the stage.
If you know the original filmer - or if you are the original filmer - please try and get in contact with me so we can get a better transfer of your footage!

Richfield Coliseum, former home of Cleveland Cavs (1975-94)and defunct MISL soccer teams, Cleveland Force and Cleveland Crunch. Also former home of defunct Cleveland Barons(1976-78)and AHL HOCKEY team, Cleveland Lumberjacks, also defunct. Plus, former home of defunct WHL Hockey team, Cleveland Crusaders. Coliseum was closed in 1994 and demolished in 1999. In my youth, saw dozens of sporting events and several dozen concerts. Always regretted being too young to see Zeppelin in either 1975 or 1977. Thank you all for unearthing this treasure for all of us too young to see Zeppelin.

Seeing this reminded me of what I saw a month before this show. I remember seeing the light-guys in the scaffold working the lights. I mean manually switching lights in sync with the songs. I think i pointed those guys out to someone i was with. thought what a great job even if your sweating up there with hot lamps. best seat in the house right?

To me, any new Zeppelin footage is worth seeing. This footage though is especially nice to see. The SHOWCO crew out did themselves with this ‘75 stage spectacle setup. Between the Vaudeville neon lighting to the horse shoe truss which housed all the stage lights. Imagine…they had to set it all up and break it all down most every night then drive unknown miles to the next hockey rink and set it all up again. These guys were just as much hero’s as the band. I’m still waiting for some SHOWCO crew member to come forward with an account of any Zeppelin tour in a book!
