- Led Zeppelin June 2, 1973 Kezar Stadium San Francisco shot by a private fan to document his day with his friends at a Zeppelin concert. This film is just the Led Zeppelin footage and does not represent the entire concert. The audio was synched to a known bootleg audio source and a great job was performed by the gentleman who helped with that. I did the digital film transfer from the master reels with a tip of the cap to our friendly filmer.
I am always looking for any one who may have concerts from the 60s 70s and early/mid 80s on 16, 8mm or Super8mm film. Please contact me if you have shot any known bands of the eras listed. Even if you have had your films transferred before, there is new and better hard/software to revive these films and bring them to a new life.
Thanks John! I wish I had captured more....but I was just a poor student at that time who borrowed his Dad's camera :-)
no, everyone in the Led Zep community appreciates what you did. overall it turned out to be nice footage and the sound synch really makes it a great video.
I was there! So happy to see this!
Thanks so much for filming this. Wow.
As sad as it is that this was all you had the resources to record, it's priceless anyhow. And also nice to know youre not holding back on the some jems..like the little tidbits you get from the zep in France 73 or Hendrix Coppenhagen 9-3-70.
Piece of history.
I think 1973 would have been the ultimate time to see Led Zeppelin.
That's why 'The Song Remains the Same' is so amazing. People can say what they want about the fantasy sequences, but it's the closet thing to seeing Zeppelin in concert at the peak of their powers.
And boy did they tear it up at MSG in July of 1973.
L.A. 1977 was the perfect time to see zeppelin.
I was there with a friend. We stood outside and asked everyone for a spare ticket. And indeed we had two very generous nice people let us have one. I just turned 20. We did the same thing with the Grateful Dead concert and got in. Good times.
amazing what still comes out! thanks!!
Makes you wonder...and horrify you what doesn't, eh?
Amazing and blows my mind how there is not much professional quality footage of this band, but yet at the same time lends a certain mystic to the band.
It was done intentionally by management to boost ticket sales. If you want to see LZ live, you needed to buy a ticket.
Wow, really something to see synced w/ audio. Outside of SRTS there's little footage of that tour. And the video quality is superb. Always interesting to me to see how the live show emerged over the course of their mainstream success days and this is a nice token of the early phase of that process. Thanks for posting!
My eyes have finally seen the birds in flight. I can not seem to find one still picture of the birds being released or flying around stage. You have captured the ultimate for me since my quest for something from that infamous release of birds. Thank you
To comment on a few posts. I have been a Led Zeppelin Fanatic for 50 years now. And would like to say "Thank You" there's not much footage I haven't seen but this was one of them. Also "73" was a good year, they were at their peak and going full speed. But im more into the nostalgic side. Like when they broke 9on the scene late 68, 69. The Cleveland show or the one in Denmark where their looks like a school assembly and the kids are sitting on the floor. And just to imagine that they (the kids) have never heard anything like this
I was there, my 1st concert! Just a peek at No Quarter, too bad. That cloud of fog across the stage was parted by a fan when Jimmy strummed that chord, like the heavens open for a god!
All my fifty five years I've only seen pictures of the Kezar show - and now someone comes along with this! Wow - the Elvis medely (sp?) at the end of Whole Lotta Love. Zeppelin, the Who, and Queen... It's all I seem to need. Oh... and some Portishead, Buzzcocks, Television, NY Dolls, the Smith's, Sensational Space Shifters, old Pat Travers Band, old Rick Derringer, some Beatles and Stones. Yeah.
This is very cool. I never saw this before. So cool to check it out and see what they looked like. I have listened to Kezar 73 so many times on bootlegs. I didn't realize that they ended the show after sunset. Very cool Thanks!
Thanks for this!! ✌️⚡️👍❤️
Wow, so great to see some very cool tho short snippets at Kezar. Fiery show. John, you mentioned some off stage footage, is it posted anywhere? And thank you for your great post.
its mostly wide angle crowd shots and the filmer and his friends enjoying their day. there is no more concert footage and since the filmer and his friends footage is more private, that will not be released.
Thank u John for posting this clip! I have listened to this gig countless times and of course always wanted to see footage! Any more you could produce and post would be greatly appreciated!
That's all there is.....
thank you John!
Thanks for posting this..
Fantastic!!! Time machine!!!! LZ FOREVER!
Unreal ,,,what a treasure !! I'm sure these memories are priceless to you !!
Never saw this one
.thanks!!
Omg, I always wanted to hear the sound coming directly to the public. Awesome
Very cool! I was 5. 5 years later I bought my first record, presence.
I was not in the crowd. If you look closely, you will not see in the me 4th row, stage left.
Amazing! What was it like to not be there? I can only imagine.
@@jarrodhall3686 Even if your not at a concert it still doesn't make a difference by watching only video tape! It still makes you feel like your there looking at it! It's very good 👍 to hear and see what your listening to! Once we went to a concert! There was alot of people screaming 😱 yelling 😒 and whistling! You can't even hear or see the band cuz people jumping and standing right in front of you and you get 💯 percent frustrated!😤
Awesome!!
My ears are bleeding!!! Thanks 😂😂😂😂
Wow, lighting has come a long way, hasn't it?
Just goes to show you lighting is really unimportant. I'd rather see Zeppelin than any crap band with fancy lighting in the past 25 years.
Of rock..... The Barons were The Rolling Stones, The Princes were Queen, The Lord's were Black Sabbath, The Gods were Led Zeppelin.
ANY list that does NOT include the Beatles is an auto DQ! Even if you get the top spot correct as you do in this case, leaving out the Beatles is unforgivable.
@@fordfrick4128 Thanks, I get your point, don't get me wrong, I love The Beatles but IMHO The Beatles were mostly pop not Rock. I was thinking of rock/ classic rock/ heavy rock genre. Discuss lol!
Led zeppelin pauleira total eterna pura magia ó diabo é ó pai do rock 🤘
Hi darlin', you know where i could get the full concert?
The stadium in the original Dirty Harry.
Is that the stadium where Scorpio was shot in the leg by Callahan? Cool info!
Malo tu video mi niña nó se ve nada higual la musica de Zeppelin es Hinconparable
Any chance you'd be willing to share the original, uncompressed file over email?
no, just the filmer, audio synch artist and myself will have those. I have reached out to Official LZ and offered them the same. that will be all.
@@Finatic13 Understood. Thanks for the post anyways, you did a great job.
Persistance
No wonder the dove landed in his hand , look at all the smoke!
Better be glad Peter Grant didn't catch you doing this!
Great clips. Thanks for sharing them with us, John. I have listened to longer audio of Kezar, '73 and have found it to be one of the best Zep concerts of the American tour.
I remember my bootleg though had that ridiculous fart noise towards the end of rain song. I didn't come across that on too many other bootlegs, either it was cut out or didn't happen.
@@elijahscall718 the mellotron was certainly a high-risk little reward predecessor to the much better Yamaha he got. I think he had a lot of adventures, either that or he was bored and pushed the fart button
I’m always amazed at how great they sound live.
the 1977 and 1980 concerts weren't good. Page was a shadow of his former self
@@wastrel09 1977 was pretty good, but i will say that he was definitely less consistent each night. 1980 was just a bad year in general for the entire band, Plant and Jones were great but Page was definitely on drugs for at least 2/3rds of the shows and bonham started to decline in his performances as well (there was one where he passed out after only 3 or 4 songs and ended the show early). The setlists in 1980 were pretty dog shit too
@@wastrel09 1977 is great
That's the stadium where Harry Callahan shot and tortured Scorpio. Historic place.
I neeed a lawyer 😁
A man’s got to know his limitations.
LZ FOREVER ❤! Thanks you!
Absolutely amazing that this exist I have always wanted to know what it was like at this concert and I finally watched it thank u what a priceless piece of time captured here
Eye Thank Yew!
Rare video
Smokin! 😀
Awesome footage, thank you!
One of the best 73 shows.
I just read a biography of Led Zeppelin. Good thing management didn’t see anyone filming the band…. It would not have gone well. They were a bunch of tough guys!!!
Fantastic. 💚
The sound version of this show is pretty good .
All that smoke,is the stadium on fire??
Hilarious. I was thinking the same thoughts.
@@dcd6611 Is it just dry ice vapour or what?
The smoke during No Quarter
They roll ‘em big in San Francisco
So great. Thanks so much!!!
I was there!
Wow! Thanks for posting!
Awesome job 👏👍
Holy shit. Its like "they are right fucking there!" omg, led zeppelin is so legendary that it does not even looks real. It's like watching some mythical event happening irl
“ Good Afternoon “ ! He sounds authoritative like a council official telling a crowd that they’ve got to move somewhere to safety !
Pure gold. Thank you
Undoubtly G.O.A.T
Sooo, does anyone know who is speaking at the end and why?
Bill Graham
I think Bill Graham
It was Bill Graham, he probably promoted the show.
