I love this tool! It truly saves your back from any fatigue and pain... Even for a 20 year old like me!! This truly is the safest and most useful way to move wood into a truck or onto a log splitter that you can find.
Hi Fred, Last November (I think), I bought a model 3802 after speaking to you about the feasibility of plumbing it into the receiver on my truck - You mentioned there was a video to that effect on the website & that helped. So I got all the stuff together to rig it up & then.....it snowed, & snowed. All the bucked maple rounds I planned on twitching out of a shallow ravine have been buried until now. Making a short story, long, I had at it yesterday & was amazed at how much effort I saved by using the Gorillabac. I attached a photo showing the eighth out of nine rounds I hauled up with the last just visible (down the embankment) above the truck's taillight in the picture. At 64 years of age, there was no way I could have muscled that maple up the embankment. The winch motor didn't warm up to the touch at all. Best, Mark Harrisville, NH
I have reviewed throughout my search numerous applications to make handling heavy logs easier and more efficiently. Main characteristics I looked for was safety and durability along with simplicity to set up in order to use. I handle allot of firewood and I know how many times wood is to be handled. from the time the tree is cut down to the final step of burning the split wood. The wood is handled 8 times. step 2 through 6 can reek havoc on your back . This product by all counts is superior to all the so called log lifts. Its is the right tool for the job. When you buy something you expect it to function and provide you with the results you want . from pricing to functionality This lift's price is a bang for your buck and will eliminate all necessary heavy lifting . And at the end of the job you will have a whole new outlook looking forward to splitting wood and the money you save on heating cost is the reward.
Got Gorillabac and plan to use it for getting the deer into ATV too. Easily handles the big 28 inch OD oak, no problem.... thats gota be all of 250 pounds.
Smart Ass I built 2 homemade cranes, myself, with repairs to my second crane. Cause my H. F. Lower stationary piece, which is cheap Asian metal. Failed, so I cut that out and fabricated U.S. metal. To replace it. Here are my videos, please subscribe/ share & give it a thumbs up. Patrick, a few Gorillabac customers also made lifts using the H.F. (Harbor Freight) cheap stuff. They ended up purchasing a Gorillabac log lift system for their needs. The Gorillabac structure is manufactured with US Steel right her in the USA! Check us out on our website at www.gorillabac.com.
Does it actually have some bearing material in the tube? How is it not binding under load? Looks good, might get one, but I just need to understand how it works mechanically before getting it
Hello Leo, Unfortunately we have not tested for that application. The Gorillabac Log lift meets or exceeds ASME mobile crane rating of 250 pounds when it is attached to a free standing log splitter. We presently maintain the same rating for the pickup truck application. Gorillabac log lift system meets the demand for firewood processing. It was designed to pull, lift, position and hold firewood size logs for splitting and loading up to ( 36 inch diameter, 20 inch length). Improve wood processing Safety, Efficiency, Wood Yield and Fun. Let a gorilla do the work and get up off your knees while struggling with the vertical splitting option. Work at waist level and eliminate the repetitive lifting and twisting. Whether working alone or with others, "Get Your Wood Up" and save your back for better things.

Thank you for the comment and clarification of what your "safety eye" is keen on. Many have had experience with trucks, tractors or ATV's pulling or jerking on a heavy item with cable, chain, rope or slings and the connection or line failed, creating a sling shot. Throughout or years of testing and feedback from customers, who practice proper use of the Gorillabac Log Lift, we are unaware of a whip back situation. The stout Gorillabac design, engineering, structural integrity and safe operating procedures allow customers the confidence and experience in safe operation, while benefiting from improved ergonomic safety, efficiency, wood yield and fun.

I'd suggest a "Deep Cycle" battery. A regular battery like that won't last long. They're not designed for deep discharge and recharge.

Kvasir87, Yes the tube mast connection forms a simple bearing. It should be lightly greased every couple years. Binding is not an issue.
Good job in your video!
brilliant
I see it works for rounds. How does it do loading 8 ft.logs?

just hook the battery to the pig tail, and never lose charge
pig tail wiring probably is not heavy enough for the current.
@@g.r.4853 The pigtail would just charge the battery. The battery is providing the amps to the winch.
This would be great for loading fat chicks in the back of the truck!

Your “set” that you grew would hit the ground if not for a machine like this
