This song was made to reflect the pain James feels when traversing this broken town of death, remorse, and despair. Termina has nothing on this place.
It was the guilt that made him look for her, the guilt inside him because he murdered her. A very sad story, he complains about takin a human life, when Eddie killed some guys, and when he had to kill Eddie after all, and he says "a human being...", then he realized or remembered he did it, he really killed his own wife.., this story breaks my heart, and Maria's sickness too.

The music of this game is just magic. Akira Yamaoka is a genius in bringing such a great feeling to this game. Even the gameplay, the environment, everything in the game, especially the music, all are just together put into the best form of art than anything... we all must be so lucky to be born in this generation and having known silent hill...
It's really sad how game, movie and series soundtracks are always lacking from so much material originally present... This version of Promise absolutely beautiful.
This is art. The myriad of emotions this stirs in me is simply breathtaking. I must've listened to this at least a 100 times by now, and it still manages to captivate me. Silent Hill 2 and it's soundtrack may well be one of the most inspiring pieces of art I have ever come across.

This is my rip and edit from 2002. I basically had to take available clips without the dialogue, snip around them, and create a cohesive version. Back when music editing software wasn’t perfect, I think it holds up really well.
Could someone tell me where I could fin this track with good quality (not a recompressed RUclips version of it) for download? I had it long ago, but it seems I deleted it inadvertedly... :(
+Sergi Medina There's a website called silenthillmemories(dot)net which has the full soundtrack of Silent Hill 2, it's called "Silent Hill 2 Complete Soundtrack Ultimate Edition" (if you google that it will appear the website). This is the only file that I've found in FLAC. And for my surprise it sounds even better than the songs from the game (PC version). Ps: in this album this song is called "Wishful Thinking" on the first disc.

Guess I searched only by this title... And finally only found the typical 128 kb/s Fungo's rip. It's so sad no more games nowhere near those are made anymore... Best regards.
