I wanted a AOZ Barzam version for years. All started with a RG MK II 3rd party conversion kit that got me hooked. But seeing this version finally come to life I'm starting to feel disappointed the more I look at it. Maybe I liked the "interpretation" more than the OG design. May I'm not sold on HG in general. Whatever it is... In the end, I'm glad I did not pre order. So thanks for the review! I still like the design... if though not as much I hoped to.
@@marasai426 Ah, okay I did not know the Barzam has more than 2 variants. The version I referred to seems more like a mix between the Barzam and the Titan MK II
The whole reason the Refined Barzam (Gundam Sentinel) and the AOZ Barzam designs exist is because the original Barzam design was so awkward. I don't think Bandai could release the AOZ Barzam without releasing the original first without people freaking out.
Well, now I'm curious whether the Aqua Hambrabi II expansion will fit the original HGUC kit because I'm planning to buy a Weiss Barzam but I hear Bandai just used the old kit's mold and released it in a different color
Gundam bases in korea are going out of buisness. 3 gundam bases in korea closed down for the past 2 years (To clarify, Korea is one of the top countries that purchases a lot of gunpla from bandai/japan)
Theres also a worldwide shortage of the raw resources used to make plastic since the start of this year that is only getting worse and worse, so I could immagine bandai having to downsize some of their operations to save money without being too obvious about it xD im kinda starting to think all the unique p bandai molds of late have been due to that as well. It could be entirely possible that bandai just doesnt have the resources to produce all the kits they had planned for regular worldwide distribution so they had to decide to release a bunch of em in limited quantities to at least not let the molds/designs that were already made and paid for go to waste. And that way it still seems like they release plenty of new product regularly...even if most of it is not accesible to a large part of the customerbase :')
@@marasai426 wow I did not expect this, that 3 gundam bases closed doors within 2 years. Any predictions why this is the case? *.C0v1d did not help for sure...
2:30 People are not buying less. People are buying more. The whole reason we're in gunpla shortages is because of the pandemic and people don't have anything better to do then to buy more gunpla. I like how bandai thinks a kit won't sell well because there are not well known yet they still make known/popular mobile suits into p bandai. Hit and miss with bandai.
@@Darth_Anomalous korea is bandais top country list in terms of sales. But i only mention that sales has been dropping recently (in gundam base) due to online shopping having better prices. We wouldnt have gundam base if gunpla wasnt popular here
Just to be clear, Yes I did pre-order the red one but it was not on the same pre-order as this version, so it will be arriving much later.
Hah the irony is i like the aoz designs the most. They don't look goofy and human like, more alienish but have modern look.
I didn't realize it was this different. I might have to wait for the next reprint to get one unfortunately.

Well keep in mind, this being a AOZ ver we might still actually see a release of the version you are talking about. This ver was kind of unexpected

The RG conversion is actually the Refined Barzam which is a completely different MS design from Gundam Sentinel that came out in the late 1980's
@@Saved_Sinner0085 Ah, I see! That makes sense.
I personally prefer the aoz look. The original hguc one possesses certain charm that I can't get rid off but also irks me for some unknown reason.

At first I thought both versions look the same but since you’ve made the comparison, yeah there are tons of detail changes.
I think there was an Advanced Hazel in the third Zeta Gundam movie.
GBO1 never had any Zeta Gundam suits. GBO1 only went as far as 0083 before the game was put down.
Good to know
Aw man, I hate how true your statement about how a community of fans mean very little to a big company that focuses on higher, general sales.
Is the HGUC kit also a polycap-less design like the AOZ version? I really prefer the chunk of the HGUC kit, but I like how solid the AOZ version is
the original did use polycaps.
@@marasai426 Cheers!
What did you mean by people are buying less gunpla? I had the understanding that they built a new factory to increase production.

Not Gundam mk-ii backpack compatibility for this AOZ Barzam ?
Entirely different connection

Refined barzam kit bash?
Be my guest
I like the original, but the remix ain't bad.
Bandai always made AOZ kits p bandai just why
As far as i know the license for AOZ stuff belongs to a different company (or some sorts)

Seems like the situation is different in korea. Because 3 gundam bases closed over the past 1~2 years
