DJI LIDAR WORKING WITHOUT DJI RS3 , FOR USERS THAT OWN THE GIMBAL

- To clarify , you need the DJI RS3 to calibrate the lenses you want to use , this video was meant for who understand technology and read the owners manual or instruction of every product you are interested in !
I think a lot of people are confusing what is going on here. He has the RS 3 and is calibrated this lens already. This is just a power solution, but you can already use the lidar off the gimbal, that is a feature already built into the Lidar focus. So if you are a person who does not own a RS 3 this video is NOT showing a solution for just having the Lidar without owning the RS 3 gimbal. If you want to use this Lidar module, you NEED the RS 3. This is a clickbait title, that not really showing you what you think it is.
I am not sure why someone would do this, if you watch the video and read the bold text, he is pushing the idea that you don't need the Gimbal when you do. Why be this dishonest to people? What do you gain from lying, a few click?
I think 99% of people know you need the gimble still. If not, keep an eye out for PDMovie to release a stand alone LiDAR later this year. It’s on youtube
I love your words and sentences. Technically it didn’t get that much click after lying. What a bummer
Thank you very much
Wow, it really works. 💯
I powered my 3D Focus System (previous lidar generation) with an powerbank instead of the cable that goes into the gimbal an i was able to use it without the gimbal. On the older 3D Focus System you can then adjust the near and far point of the lens by double pressing the button on the 3D Focus System and than it calibrated and focused automaticly like with the gimbal.
DUDE!! ahhhh. Thank you. I am getting one😊
you need an RS3 Pro to program it
It's a method where you focus and save on the RS3, then configure individually... It's not a lie. I'm using it that way too, but the Lidar's focus is terrible.
Hey can you give a layman's terms break down of what's going on here cause I really want to do this myself.
is all in the video …nothing to explain. Unless your blind 😜. This is a setup for people that own DJI RS3 and want to use the Lidar on the camera without mounting it on the gimbal
@@lucapasturini4229 lol kk
If someone theoretically borrows an RS3 Pro... and sets up all their manual lenses; and returns the RS3 Pro, can the Lidar AF be used without the RS3 Pro forever? Is there anything that can wipe out the memory of the manual lens settings, like unplugging a battery, doing a firmware update, anything?
It might work …but if you have a fault you still need to borrow from someone else an RS3 Pro and reset up again
So I can’t buy a focus motor and LiDAR alone? I NEED a RS3 Pro? Because I really want this solution for manual lenses.
@@jbruce87 unfortunately you need to have a RS3 pro to set everything up at the moment, but I've heard from multiple sources that DJI is making a standalone handle for this, maybe worth the wait🤞
@@zechenwei1139let’s hope. I couldn’t afford the RS3 Pro but I got the RS3 Combo with the focus motor as I have 3 cine lenses. I thought this would be good enough but I would still like to have that LiDAR solution.
@@zechenwei1139 I am not sure this is going to happen. There is ruclips.net/video/dLOknxVS2l8/видео.html on the way though. And this is already on the market. ruclips.net/video/FqZFdWp3FNs/видео.html
You the man
🙏🏻
Even when set up alone, the Lidar cannot focus.
I did not have problem so far...
Without Rs3 LCD touchscreen how do you select what you want to focus?
You can't, it defaults to Area Wide and will be subject tracking only.
Paul Pan, DJI's Senior Product Manager, demonstrates this on his RUclips Channel.
Just bought this exact setup but my Lidar is still blinking red after pressing FN to calibrate after it finishes. What gives?
You need an active connection to a functioning RS3 Pro.
Yeah, so how did you calibrate the lens in order to get the auto focus working because it won’t work until the lens are calibrated
I open the gimbal , so when I need to shoot without the gimbal , I can take advantage of Lidar on my manual lenses
How do you calibrate, change settings, etc... without RS3 display?
you set the lidar when the camera is on the gimbal , then it will store the settings and you can use off the gimbal…
@@lucapasturini4229 so i in other words you stilll need the gimbal
@@uncoolmediagroup5576 yes
Whats the freaking point of you having all our hopes up high when in reality would still need a freaking gimbal thanks ass wipe you just crushed my dreams,,☠️
dope man ! Can you give me th reference of the cable and power supply please ?

@@lucapasturini4229 Hello, thank you so much for your answer !! happy new year man
@@SHEITAN7583 Your welcome and Happy New Year
What happens when you zoom to different focal lengths? Does it maintain the same focus pull calibration?
No. You must use again Ronin to recalibrate LiDAR anytime you want to change focal lens
Thx great 👍 did you buy the cable separately or does it come with the lidar ?
come with the lidar
Post the link where I can buy the setup. Please, Tutorial
I do not remember , but check my my answers to comments and I remember I posted links
Did you have to calibrate anything?@@lucapasturini4229
What connector/plate are you using under the corner of the camera that you put the rod in? Would like to get one because I don’t want to use the cage. Thank you so much.
It is the plate and the rod that come with the gimbal
Hello. Are you satisfied with the lidar or does it give you too many focus issues?
Thanks!
No issues and very happy with it
Can you use this with Panasonic lenses where it focuses internally without setting up on the gimbal first? Thanks
I do not think so , you need the gimbal to set the lenses first
Awesome 👍
Thats awesome! If you switch to manual focus… how would you go about that?
what is that in the focus ring i need that asap
That’s awesome!! Just from curiosity, what lense is that? Thanks!
Tokina
do you have a lidar roller without a gimbal, is it possible to buy lidar and follow focus without a gimbal?
Can you please link the power supply used
Smallrig NP-F Battery Adapter Plate Lite 3018
Got it thank you !
F that company they stole my idea from my video in 2017 …
too much tention on the cable?!
no
I was looking for video like this thank you. Focus point is only center ?
Yes
Is the LIdar hooked up via Bluetooth?
Which battery kit is that ?
i wonder if you could do this but with a cable from d tap to power it so i could use it on a larger camera package
I do not know. The video show how it works for my configuration
Of course you can. I run a D-tap to USB-C from Kondor Blue that has enough voltage to power the lidar and motor together (You need a cable 7v or more).

@@lucapasturini4229that is not the cable in your video?!? Not the same plug in either end! Could you please identify the cable used from battery plate to motor?

Ok got it
hi.is it works with sigma 18-35 and bmpcc4k?or only manual lenses? Thanks.
it can work on any manual lenses , for autofocus lenses it works only of you can switch the lens from auto to manual focus
How I need this asap
What lens are you using please?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but to me it’s a Tokina 11-20 CF
What's the brand of the DC Out 12V plate?

Hi, Do you recommend the crane 3s for black magic 6k pro? Its very heavy?
i recomend you the ronin rs3 with lidar autofocus and tracking
The RS3 non-pro version can work with the P6K Pro using counter weights. But the RS3 Pro is needed to calibrate the Lidar module. The Feiyutech Scorp Pro also can balance the P6K Pro without counter weights.
Can’t track face?
yes it does
Nnnnnoooooowwaaayyyyyy😮😮😮😮
same as every other video. you dont bother to swing around to show what port youre using. not a huge deal. there are only 2. just a lil incomplete cause angle there at the end tells me nothing about whats going on with the lidar
swing where is all in front of your eyes. Tech is not for everybody probably. You should consider another hobby. Just kidding no offense 😃
Not to mention I did it figuring out myself how to 😅
YOU HAVE TO SET IT UP WITH THE GYMBAL FIRST THOUGH!!!... DON'T TRICK PEOPLE, PLEASE EXPLAIN TO THEM, MAN!!!...
it is working without the Dji Rs3 , but you need the dji rs3 to set it ! This video I made it intentionally for people that own a DJI RS3 but want to use the LIDAR , “ without it “
Blocked him for click bait.
This is a hoax 4 views you still need gimbal for setting calibration so I'm reality we can't use this focus system people with out the rs3 gimbal wasted my time on this short clip false information ☠️ 👎
you don’ t get it yet 😥.
Is this one more accurate or more reliable than the pdmovie lidar smart? I already have the rs3 pro so thats not really a factor
Ive heard that is safe to use the 7.4V instead the 12V. Some cases of frying motors due to the 14.8V from Vmount sources. proceed?
I do not know actually ..
@@lucapasturini4229 thanks! Are you using 12v with no problems at all?
@@rodrigodeantonibrito so far yes 😅
