In Genesis 1:26, who is God speaking to when he says, “Let *us* make man in *our* own image, after *our* likeness?”
He is talking to the same being that is in John 1:1-3, and that being is Jesus Christ. It is explained in John 12:49-50 that Jesus speaks on behalf of the Father from the beginning to the end. After God gave Jesus life, which Jesus explains in John 5:26 and John 6:57, God then put all power into his son's hands; this is why Jesus said “all things are delivered unto me from my Father” (Matthew 11:27). In John 8:28, Jesus tells us “when you have lifted up the Son of man, then shall you know that I am he and that I do *nothing of myself,* but as *the Father has taught me* I speak these things.” Jesus has the Father’s gift of life in him, for they are one (John 10:30).

The realtionship between politics is pretty well estsblished in history. For the Catholic Church heirachy, it is support the Democrat Party and Democrat politicisns, regardless of how they have shown so much emnity to Catholics and the teachings of Jesus.

@@timmonahan-mitchell9125 There are so many instances of the Catholic Church and the Democrat Party working hand in hand your inquiry is difficult to respond to without writing a book. But some abbreviated response will have to do.
In NYC the Catholic Church has for over a hundred years tacitly supported Democrats candidates. The only other political party - Republicans - was deemed to be dominated by anti Catholic Protestants and this was largely true until only recently. The church received favors from elected Democrats and received their tacit support. Catholic clergy have always publicly socialized with elected Democrat politicians. Even in a Catholic College that I graduated from sought to hire someone who was connected politically. It was clear that meant with Democrat connections. The Church has consistently refused to criticize Democrat politicians although - only after lengthy provocation it may criticize certain policies. A good example of this is closing down churches during the pandemic while permitting large stores to operate. Democrat Governor Cuomo - who states he is Catholic- was never criticised by the Church, although after a lengthy time the churches were closed, one diocese in conjunction with other religions, brought a lawsuit. There was never criticism of this.
Abortion is also a good national policy that fits this description. President Biden - who states he is a Roman Catholic - is one of the most forceful supporters of abortion in American history, and has only recently emphasized his position this week in his state of the union address. The Catholic Church has remained silent on his position. In the recent past, Catholic priests who have taken positions against abortion and the Democrat Party have been silenced and disciplined.
This kind of thing goes on all the time in different places around the country.
There are none so blind as those who will not see.
Arming a country that is openly carrying out a genocide, is pretty un-Christian. Not that Republicans are any better on that front.
