Guido, seriously, that lense is tack sharp. Nice my friend beautiful images, great video. I think the 150-600 is the winner.WOW. The mouse shots were great. Everything beautiful. Thanks again.
The shots look great indeed but the 150-400 is just a little bit sharper and overall a more pleasant lens to use in terms of handeling. But they are very close so for the price difference the 150-600 is the best option if you look at value for money. Thanks for watching grt guido
For the money the 150-600 is a heck of a deal. Fantastic images.
Could not agree more. The 150-400 is a little sharper and more pleasant to carry around but it is more then 5k more expansive that is a lot of money... thnx for watching grt guido
Fabulous collection of images Guido, top work 👍
Thank you. Now I just have to do the same with wild birds 🙂 grt guido
Great images Guido. I am amazed how you manage to get such superb images when landscape photography is your chosen field. The lens appears to be sharp at 600mm. You have made me think about the purchase of the 150-600. What a fantastic venue with such a variety of stunning birds.
I have to say that I photographed lots of birds before I started landscape photography, so it's not a completely new subject for me. I never had the right equipment to do it in the wild, so most of the trips I came home with disappointing results. So, about 5 years ago, I switched to landscapes and just fell in love with it. But every now and then, it's nice to do something else for a change. Would love to take one of the these lenses into the wild someday and see the results I could get. The most remarkable thing about the 150-600 was that it stayed sharp over the complete focal range. So incab definitely recommended. Yes, it's expansive and heavier and bigger than any other m43 lens, but in my opinion, absolutely worth it. Thanks for watching. Grt guido
Amazing detail image from the lens. Thanks for sharing. 1 LIKE for the video. Greetings from Singapore.
Thank you very much! Singapore nice haven't seen anywhere from your country before on the channel 🙂 grt guido
Dankjewel voor deze beelden.
Graag gedaan 🙂
Hello Guido
Amazing images of the birds and cute ones from the mouse :-). Will see you in your next.
Grt Ernesto
That mouse was a nice surprise. Love the one on the pink round flower. Thanks for watching. This sunday the last upside from my sweden trip with sone of my favorite images in it. Grt guido
That was a staged close range shots. What I wanted to see is a realistic wildlife scenario where you take a picture of a bird in the canopy or an animal in the distance that you can't get any closer.
There are more bird / animal images in later videos on location with this lens. For example in the video there are a lot of ducks ruclips.net/video/j8o2dRbu3jU/видео.html
Hope this is more what you are searching for. Grt guido
Sorry the on location shots I mentioned are with a different lens. I thought the video you watched was about the 150-400 but this is the 150-600 video. Unfortunatly I only had that lens vor a couple of days to test it out. That's why I went to the falconer because I needed garanty that I could test it on birds. Hope you find a different video somewhere online. Grt guido
Great shots.
Thnaks Mike!
Super! Many thanks ❤
Thanks for watchibg and your comment! Grt guido
Hi Guido. Nice video. Unfortunately, I cannot afford the 150-400mm lens. Would you recommend the 150-600mm as a good alternative birds in fight lens?
Well that's a whole different lens. It's heavier, bigger and just slightly less sharp. I think I would go for the 300mm f4 then instead myself if you want to combine it with for example landscapes. If your only interested in bird and take 1 lens with you then the 150-600 is a great option. Grt guido
Interesting video and great bird photos 👍
Thanks for watchibg and your comment! Grt guido
Nice one 👍
Thank you 🙂
Nice!
Thanks!
Hoi Guido
Grt guido
Beautiful video and wonderful music. May i know the name of the instrumental music used. Thank you
Thank you very much. The song is called " roseland " and the artist is "DEX 1200". I downloaded it from epidemic sound. Grt guido
*mice 😀
Great images, as always!
Thank you very much 🙂
Nice, are the pictures how they come out of the camera or cropped in some way?
The images are not cropped maybe slightly to get a 3x2 instead of 4x3 for example. These are lightroom edited raw files l. Just basic edit and noise reduction with the lightroom ai tool. Thnx for watching grt guido
The mouse!!!!
That was cute wasn't it 🙂 thanks for watching. Grt guido
Lovely pictures but do you always go out with a full orchestra? What’s the matter with natural background sounds?
Haha, the orchestra doesn't come with me 😉 there was a lot of wind and a lot of people talking g continuously, so there were no "natural" sounds in the background. I had to walk away all the time to do some talking for the video, or else I couldn't come above the other people. thanks for watching and your comment. I appreciate it. Grt guido
The 150-600 appears very sharp from 150-400mm and acceptably sharp between 400-600.
I could not see a real difference in sharpness on different focal ranges that surprised me. Even at 600, the images were really sharp. If I compare that with the 100-400, witch loses a bit of focus above 350 mm. The one didn't, in my opinion. Thanks for watching and your comment! Grt guido
Hi great videos can't decide whether to go for 300mm f4 or 150-600 Already have 100-400 but disappointed with the image quality compared with my 40-150 f2.8 + MC-14 Any help appreciated thanks
The 100-400 is getting less sharpened above 360mm so I get what you mean here. Don't get me wrong the 150-600 is a great lens but if your looking for image quality then there is nothing better then the 300mm f4. It's by far the sharpest lens that I have ever used. Only negative is that it is a prime! The fat more expansive 150-400 is almost just as sharp but has all that flexibility. The 150-600 is great and better then the 100-400 but it can't match those 2 lenses. The size and weight are also deffinitly something to keep in mind. The 300 is so much easier to travel around with. Biggest question Is if you want to have a prime or not... thanks for watching the video and your comment. Grt guido
@@GuidoVanDeWater thank you for your thoughts
Would purchase 150-400 if funds allowed 👍🫣
@everydaygrandad5642 haha, yeah, I'm lucky I have one on loan for a while but will miss it when I have to return it 😒 300f4 is the next best thing if you ask me.
How does the 150-600 compare with 40-150 f2.8 for image quality
@everydaygrandad5642 I have never used the 40-150 with telecomverters so I'm not sure about that. But un general I was just surprised by the results I hot with the 150-600. There is another video on the channel we're I used it indoors in a covered rainforest of my local zoo. Deliberately shot high iso and was pleasantly surprised!
I do not see noise at ISO 3200
No you can easily shoot up to iso 6400. I only used noise reduction of lightroom but most images it wasnt even necessary. From iso 10.000 you will still see some noise after using noise reduction but totaly fine for me. There is another video on the channel with this lens and I shot all images at iso 10.000 there. For me perfectly acceptable. Thanks for watching. Grt guido
Probably not. All lenses are staying aboutnthe same prices. Perhaps second hand over time... thnx for watching. Grt guido
Maybe a little but if I look at the lenses available right now for this system they all stayed at about the same price range. Sometimes there are discounts but I have no information about that. Usually the discounts appear when a newer type of a lens is coming to the marked so with this lens that might take some years.
Fair comment. But you would be surprised how many people buy this lens and only do the same photography as I did while testing it. I wish I could have done a better test video but I only had the lens for 1 week. Instead of others who had the lens for 2 months. I'm sure you can find a video of it that takes it to the challenges that you ask from a lens. I just wasn't given the time to do that. Grt guido
Who uploads lens reviews in 1080p? You cannot judge IQ in such a low resolution.
With all the youtube compressions it's almost impossible to judge image quality from a video file. But might look into uploading 4k next time.
@@GuidoVanDeWater YT compression can increase blotchiness of the noise especially when there is movement in the frame, creating motion artifacts. However static picture can look so much better than this. Look at the content uploaded by Jan Wegener, Duade Patton but even by Espen Helland or Mike Lane (OM-1 users). Not everyone watches YT on phones. Many have +27" 4K screens or more. I have 5K for instance. And such a low resolution really hurts.
@przybylskipawel I actually listened to your advice and started uploading 4k videos 2 weeks ago. The main reason for not doing is that my old computer just could not process the large 4k videos. I bought a new computer in autumn but never changed my workflow. Hopefully, it will make a difference. Thanks for getting it to my attention. Grt guido
